Yeah, actually. Quite a bit... Might be worth reading the last few rns released by the company, particularly these ones... http://www.lse.co.uk/share-regulatory-news.asp?shareprice=FTO&ArticleCode=ygde3dat&ArticleHeadline=Posting_of_Circular_and_Notice_of_General_Meeting http://www.lse.co.uk/share-regulatory-news.asp?shareprice=FTO&ArticleCode=e8c0ftzx&ArticleHeadline=Regulatory_Approval_for_FGIH_Transaction http://www.lse.co.uk/share-regulatory-news.asp?shareprice=FTO&ArticleCode=hjea2hcb&ArticleHeadline=Proposed_Acquisition_and_Loan_Settlement There is quite a bit going on around the edges her.... Dare I say of course...DYOR...:) Cheers ...
Seems like its a good chance to top up. They look very strong at present price, is there anything I am missing?
Well, there is nothing to stop Daniel Chieu from building up a larger stake by buying on the London market. Then floating off a big proportion of that stake to help list on the HKSE at a higher price. I am quite sure that is what lies behind this negotiation.. Boost up your holding to around 65% by purchasing cheap stock on the open market and then, once associate status and final payment is received from CGH etc.... Offer perhaps the minimum amount of shares to participate in a listing on HKSE @ a higher price then purchased in London... Generate good value and interest....:) Getting the picture??
Interesting is correct , A complete buyout seems out of the question , but do feel that the concert party members would like a larger percentage , as although they act in concert ( excuse the pun ) , a larger share by one or two members , would give them more sway , if they wanted another direction for FTO . I am starting to wonder if FTO is looking to change its status and become an investment company , holding shares in companys such as CGH .
It really is a strange one this divi thing!! Firstly, the sp should come down to reflect the value that leaves the company..normally... Secondly, I would imagine there are many who just want out on the next spike, regardless of the divi. But from a fundamental point of view, a drop in the sp post divi would not make sense as the value of the company was never "in " the price in the first place. If we get higher volume in the coming week then I would feel I could better understand the next step.. And of course, we don't know how the concert party will react to the freedom of been allowed to purchase shares in the open market.. Presently, they would not have to buy many to support the current price.... Interesting...
Slow and steady does it ! See what next week brings. Can the management convince the markets of Fortunes true value? How will the divi effect the sp ?
Fto may break the 9.9p before dropping back a fraction..low volume but the mm's are allowing this to move upwards. HAPPY DAYS..
Notice that the low price recorded last night was an uncrossed trade and that recently somebody is selling small volumes on an automatic basis at closing prices. Is there any significance in this ? fyi my broker offering buy at 9.40 and sell at 9.54 as of 1300 hours today. let's see whether the price maintains roughly this level throughout the afternoon before declining at close.
Looking good this morning. Not counting my chickens but definitely looking a lot healthier. There is no bad news on the horizon ! If management can change the markets view of the company in next weeks meeting then we will definitely see value...
Would like to see this share price tested by a few more buys and sells. Preferably buys :-)
Had a write up in yesterday's Times Tempus column....
Hello Chris , you raise an interesting point , however don't see FTO delisting from the UK , as will want access to the larest market in the world if and when this share gets moving . Like yourself not sure whats driving the various modest gains , however their does seem to be some support at 9.1 pence , so maybe the MM's are short of shares , this means we may see the spread widen over the next few days , so that it's harder to buy and easier to sell .
....:)
Wider market required , if someone is attending , could the question of alternative listings be asked . We all think of Hong Kong and that makes sense to me . Know this is a little pricey for FTO at this price , but maybe the BOD is thinking about it now , as if they could get the listing to reflect the NAV , maybe not such a problem .
Just read the article in Tempus. The author explains that he tipped the stock because the figures didn't add up then and seems to reiterate, they still don't!! He says that CEO Daniel Chiu is over here in London to reassure investors, regarding FTO... He will perhaps be at the General Meeting next week, so to take some questions on the strategy he is deploying for FTO!!
Only one week until the meeting. This maybe ticking up in anticipation !
Posted back in December of last year. Paragraphs 5 and 6. http://www.livecharts.co.uk/share_prices/Tuesday-tips-round-up--Aggreko--Hunting--Fort-news20572892.html
Thanks for that rugs... i was wondering why the mark up in sp at the start of trading this morning... It may give us a heads up before the vote next week o resolutions... But lots of resistance around here, I suspect..
Positive report in Tempus this morning. ''FTO has sold its gas business for $ 160 million and the same amount in shares in China Gas but its market cap is less than £180 million. One analyst puts a price of 20p on the shares''
After holding this share since 95 I've come to the conclusion I've been shafted
I hope somebody will say something on behalf of us about the appalling sp performance
Very Witty Rugs , I take it from your comment it was not you , However I do believe we have quite a wide base . Around 17100 individual private shareholders ( info probally out of date ) and can see some maybe increasing their holding ( this is not a recommendation by me ) . On a serious note , I believe these buys and sells of 10 shares are there to test the price .
Well, somebody out there must agree with you, they have just invested nearly £ 1 on 10 shares.
