Just resizing my opinion of this share , and this is going to be a long haul , I have just purchased another 14,483 in my ISA , as do believe this has little downside , but this is not going to achieve the price this share deserves , until we have a wider market . Good luck fellow investors .
Volume has dropped to almost nothing....We need this general meeting to explain in simple terms where this company is going ! The ordinary shareholders, although in the minority, need to be reassured that eventually the sp will rise ! The divi is only a side show and the current sp must be off putting for potential investors ! I know those who are already invested will not lose anything with this divi but it is supposed to be a bonus for the long suffering holders ! Time will tell..
Its not known yet Chris. The general meeting has to vote to approve the 3 resolutions. Once that is done and only then, can the date for divi payment and going ex be announced. So, I expect there are quite a few investors thinking along the same lines as you at the moment.. We will have to wait until after the general meeting results...
come on chaps Confusious says when acorns are small pigs often find truffles
LOLOLOL.. I know what ye both mean!!! Perhaps we may even get them cheaper with the fall in sp to be expected as they are bought on the pay out day and not before it...:)
As said, the cash just disappears.. Its amazing how the divi's add up over the years. The usual divi maybe tiny but it will be paid next year on this new batch... from small acorns and all that. This acorn just can't get going... ;-)
I am signed up for the DRIP, so more shares for me. Dividends get frittered away otherwise.
Will you take more shares or the cash?
Not much of a consolation but we may have 25% more shares soon. :-) no more value , just more shares !
Now you sir...are a long term holder investor....:)
these since 1992. No other holding I have confounds more!
The sp is really moving about the last couple of days and quite a spread..
Fto is definitely in the dog house as far as the market is concerned ! Making profit, progressing the business and cash in the bank cant shift this share ! Surely the BOD must be looking at ways to change sentiment, unless for whatever reason it suits them to keep the sp in this range at the moment ?
I am more confident of the holding in CGH bearing fruit then I am off the short term fall after the divi pay out... I do recall, not that long ago, some investors were calling for a special dividend to be paid out as a reward for long term holders of FTO.. Guess you just cant win.. SP performance has been abysmal to be honest but I think the fundamentals are growing stronger each day..... But will continue to monitor sp and am still happy to take drips as divi payment over cash...
Had a quick look at iii the other day. They seem to be sharing the same divi concerns. Will the sp rise in the interim and by how much will the sp drop by on divi day ! Generally unsure as to where Fortune is going due to its complicated nature.
There has been quite a few delayed trade publications recently...... Hard to see trade with the bid back below 9p in my view.... Just not many takers....
you would almost think the mm"s are trying their best to keep this one down...
Don't talk about the creaking body...:) Geographically, just to far away to go myself but I express your sentiments to anyone who is going... The bid/offer price is jumping around like nobody's business today... I feel the last of the L&G shares have been hovered up by Premier Energy and Water Trust PLC , we appear to be back to a more stable market with shares tending to be in short supply now... Just think the bid below is not to enticing to many...
The Chinese economy found its feet in August, with inflation remaining subdued as exports rose more than expected, giving a rosier outlook for the second half of the year. Consumer prices rose 2.6 per cent from a year earlier, just a touch below July’s 2.7 per cent pace, the statistics bureau said on Monday. Inflation is unlikely to pass the 3 per cent threshold in 2013, leaving it well within the government’s comfort zone and beneath its official “upper limit” of 3.5 per cent, the Financial Times says.
Tks Del.......can't be bad, still things starting to creak with the body now. I do see that we have a buyer of size in the market at the mo 100K here ... 125K there.... So all in all perking up .... I am unable to make it to Broadgate as the train fare is prohibative, so if your good self or any other poster is going then please could you post what happened...... tia ...... btw One word of warning for anyone attending, the offices are near the top and if you do not like hights then just look at anything other than the wall to celing glass (gulp)....

Have just gone through a lot of the rns releases over the last year and am even more convinced of the high standing that CGH is now held in over in China.. They do appear to be the new poster boy over there and have even made it on to Forbes nifty fifty Asian stock list... http://www.chinagasholdings.com.hk/uploadfiles/2013090410075231.pdf...(thanks to serious investor) We could very shortly hold directly over 10% in a fast growing business that could look like an early days Reebok investment.... I will stay with my drips programme for this divi as this gains momentum upwards..me thinks..:)
A flurry of buys as we contemplate....
Two valid points raised here on these issues. Taking a look at the 3 month Graph, the Kick-Up from the 7.75p line around (circa) 07th August 2013 actually corresponds with the RNS date which mentions the proposal of the mentioned special dividend. We then witness a gradual rise in the SP to date. Without knowing more, one could say the S' Dividend may well be partialy built in to the improving Share Price, now at around 9p. The 2 months prior we saw the SP bumping along at a 7.75p average. So, is buying in any different to that of any other Stock offering a Dividend or potential proposed Dividend which often brings up the SP. The bigger question which shouts out once it was paid out, will all those Dividend Hunters bale out once paid ? and Shatter's 6.66p figure could be seen. However, there could be enhancing news still to follow, as Del' mentions a Buy Out would I think send the SP much higher. The current Market Cap could well be cheap!
