So it is most likely the US Embassy. It would have been an elaborate staged piece of false news indeed.
I just google mapped the area and there is indeed a fork lift tool hire company very close to the Embassy, which does indeed seem to be close to an industrial area. Sadly there is no street view to check its the same place.
Looks a lot different. The protest appeared to be in a car park on an industrial estate which at the time I thought strange. Also thoght maybe the US embassy is in the proximity of indusrial units who knows but did strike me as an unusual scene.
Questions??? Assuming this is a staged demontration. Who is running the news story on this? How des it get onto a local Georgian News Channel??? Why does it get onto a local Georgian News channel?? I just do not get it. Someone please join the dots............
Madpunter - That does look a bit different! I just rechecked the link i posted and it looks like the protest was outside an empty office building and next to a Catapillar tool hire office. As far as I can tell these are the only pictures, so we haven't seen the "Embassy" part of the protest. Maybe this was their meeting point? Or as you say, they weren't actually allowed to protest at the embassy and this is the back or somewhere close.
Looed - The link below has a picture of the US Embassy and it looks nothing like the building in the link with the protesting FRR workers. Maybe they were only allowed to protest around the back?

Some reports now showing in Georgian but with an english link. The two I came across say the same as the previous reports but have more pics of the protest. Not sure if they are pics lifted from the news program someone posted earlier. Both refer to the protests at the USA embassy but the building in the pics doesn't appear very "embassy-like" to me. Here is one of the links (in Georgian) -

A couple of thoughts around today's posts...
Sounds like oil and gas was being extracted up until less than a month ago at least.
I'm not worries that the Frontera workers are not reporting seeing BP/BH or anyone elses employees, it should not be too hard to keep them apart.
Pretty sure all oil and gas revenue would be going into the liquidated company.

Lots of negative news surrounding FRR and lots of neagitve news for FRR are 2 very different things.
Im still very hopeful of a very positive outcome here.
Lots of dots on eyes and crosses on teas to be done i think
As has always been the case since my first investment here in 2008- every action creates more questions than answers and always, always expect the unexpected.
Just my opinion and guestimation from what we know is happening and more importantly at this time- from what hasnt happened.
ATB
Coggy, just like an FRR investor meet then.........
LMFOA
The F isnt for Fat this time... :-)))))))
Lots of negative news surrounding Frontera (as usual) and you can never put a positive spin on people being made redundant and having no money for several months.
If their contract were with FRCC would it not be the liquidation company doing this as they control the company. If is the case any move from the other part of FRR would show the court that if fact this is one company and not separate offshoot.
This is as clear as the mud coming up with the oil. So all we have is what we find or glean from sources that may themselves not have the full story even those that work on the coal face.
If BH are still around they would be doing their own thing and not relying on the locals.
As of every day we cannot change what is and what will be with this share.
If we have no money, no workers, no production then we have no company so why are we not seeing GG taking back the licence as it looks a slam dunk that we cannot deliver to the licence requirements. So what do they know that we do not?
But then prod, I'd have difficulty writing PUOSYCCD in meaningful squiggly lines.
beacause the Georgian written word looks so much more attractive. Like a series of bums and t*ts.
LMOA
Indeed sir cogster- but if they can write Frontera
why not also write - PAY US OUR SALARY YOU CAR CHASING DOGS.....also
LMOA
MP
defo not fake
remains to be seen if the word orchestrated should also be associated with the words - well it appears its not - also
I have my doubts.
Arggggggg - there, my inner cynic has exposed itself.
LMOA
theprodge, it's their Company logo you sillyu sausage. It's on their hard hats, site entrances, Office walls, boiler suits etc etc etc.
Maybe they copied it with tracing paper?
LMOA
theprodigy - Well the youtube video confirms that it's not fake.
Quite convenient that someone wrote Frontera in english on that placard though eh.
Good job im no cynic or id be thinking all sorts of chenanigans and orchestrated things........

TSBS
Georgian tv news - 51 minutes
More than 10 protestors ....
Glass still half full although I truly feel for the employees
Link. https://youtu.be/xixp3OFKpDA
Tsbs - If the article was only in a regional news link, then that is strange, as the US Embassy is purported to be involved.
Sorry, August 2017.
When the four of us were out there in October 2017, quite a few of the oilfiled operatives were in their 50's and sixties. Their job is not too labour intensive. Every so often they empty the collection drum at the well head via small tanker and transfer the oil into the larger on site storage tanks. I seem to remember they work either five or seven days on and the same off.
Damn Madp, you got some skills,
Just tried the bugsy link in a safe search and nothing was found. The link I used and zib's still shows in a safe search. Therefore, it is either from a regional interpress news website which doesn't pass my security or from a fake copy of the interpress news website.
Not usually the conspiracy theory-type but protestors are on the old side, especially the blokees
Hi MP - yes I had the same non-result when I tried similar searches. Also, from the pic in the article it seems to be approx 10 people so maybe its not that significant (other than to the protesters themselves) so it's not been picked up yet.
