Met a Georgian woman in London tonight and asked her if she knew anything about Frontera. She said there was no significant gas in Georgia and people have been perpetrating this scam for years. She’s not an expert (she’s a banker) but it shows the prevalence of the counter narrative. We have only Zaza’s word on the NDAs with supermajors and Steve’s claims about massive gas reserves have fallen on deaf ears in Georgia. Who to believe? There’s an almighty battle going on over something. The truth has to come to light soon.
Zen, if you remember back in around 2015/16 we went from around 9tcf to 208 TCF in a succession of heavily jammed Rand's lol. We were probably doing zero exploration at the time due to funding. Every RNS alluded to ongoing studies. They either knew this gas was there in the early 2000's when they were actually doing meaningful work and spending the $400 mill, or they've made it up in order to maintain a presence in Georgia. There doesn't seem to be an in between.
Exactly Coggy. I remember looking at Netherland and Sewell’s CPR and noting that one caveat was that all calculations were based on FRR’s own figures. N & S has not visited the field. We have taken a lot on trust.
Wow - I find that hard to believe. A CPR based on FRR's own figures rather than independently verified. What's the value of that?
Why mess about with a 9TCF CPR why not go the whole hog and say 203TCF- and caveat that with 'the fairies told us'
If there was not the amount of oil & especially gas that Frr (ZM & SN ) have said why would they be so much trying to keep hold of Frrs %.
On as far as Moldova or anywhere else is concerned unless Georgia was a success then ZM & SN can forget about trying their hand somewhere else, as where would funding come from.
Will add if ZM has been telling porkies including that interview on state tv then would think his credibility would be completely gone.
They are fighting for something worth fighting for. B12.
Anybody who cannot understand is a Shorter .
Why are the Shorts reading this Board which is for
Investors.
News soon all round, then Blue ;-)
Shah Deniz is approximately 50 miles away and has about 250 TCF... it's very possible that we have the 202TCF. If we just have 30TCF that's still a huge number and worth probably around $90 billion being inland, with infrastructure and low extraction costs..
It would be nice to get some income from this during the stock market crash, would be a good opportunity to load up on good dividend stocks such as Lloyd’s.
BP and oil have tanked recently with the development of the coronoviris and I can only see it getting worse for the global economy so the this drop is only the start there will be slight recoveries after every big drop the ftse has dropped from 7500 to as low as 6450 in a week end of play 6580
BP share has gone from 470p to 395p dont think any big deals will amount even if we are fortunate to come out with something from the arbitration MPs figures are pie in the sky talk now jmo but youd still like to think SN and Zaza would still want at least 2-3p as a minimum
If BP bought us out or any SM they would be buying a resource that would last decades . What's going on right now is irrelevant
You're losing sight of the fact, It's so cheap to get out of the ground Mick.
We now know, with oil, we can get at it with a smaller, cheaper rig.
As to gas....3- 3.5 mil to drill.....is flipping peanuts compared to Shar Deniz.
So.....if we get GG back on side....I'm sure we're a very attractive proposition to a gas super major.
Also climate change initiatives haven't just stopped, because the Worlds got a new virus to tackle.
I get what your saying but to think it would have no effect on negotiations is naive
It would be naive to be worrying about Corona Virus and how it might scupper a deal with an SM when in reality we do not know WTF is going on. If you want things to worry about I think a lot of people on here might be able to help you. Just don’t worry until we know more. GLALH.
So, all we need to see a return on our investment is :
1. For the asset to confirmed and valued at several billion dollars.
2. For arbitration to be favourable to us.
3. The Georgian Govt to respect the arbitration and extend the licence to a commercially viable duration.
4. Super Majors to be still interested or for large investors to agree to loan us $100 million or more to develop the asset.
5. Russia to stay out of Georgia.
6. Hope to be paid off
7. Corona virus to go away
8. The world still want gas and oil into the next decade.
9. Zaza and Steve to not shaft us.
Not much to ask for !
On no.3 might just be the case that on an offload then Frr obviously gives a % off then SMajor does deal with GG & would think very unlikely that a SMajor would not come to an agreement with GG.
Will add though that SMajor would likely want some assurances from GG 1st for above.
Mick, Corona Virus won't even make the news in a couple of months, it's no worse than the average annual flu outbreak.
Blown out of all proportion by the Slow news days and the Snowflake Editors.
As for the effect on the world economy...., well that's what happens to Stock Markets when computer programmes run the World and nobody has any common sense any more.
Governments have to protect their Health Services hence the advice given out, which is basically if you don't feel well stay at home and don't spread it.
So what's new?
Sorry edit.
Hard nosed Editors whose job it is to SELL the news to the Snowflakes
bedecked, don't forget to wash your hands.......for at least 20 seconds lol
Coggy I'm a serial washer of hands, if it's something I disagree with.
haha
PS nearly 20k this ****** has cost me this week and there won't be a speedy recovery, one week of panic, then months/years to recover.
Then there's AIM!!
You gotta laugh you know, one of those RR laughs. :))
I don't see what all the fuss is about over what is, in effect, a varient of infuenza. Absolute joke and a massive world wide over reaction. Wait til the politicians start saying it's not that bad, as they can't risk the world economy going into meltdown. A lot of bargains to be had out there at the moment. Pity everythings tied up in this donkey.
Commiserations bedecked. That's all you need when you've been FRR'd. Hope you get it all back and more.
Thanks Cogs but I know the risks with equities, will sit this out just like all the other panics before.
One things for sure there's gonna be a packet made by the City boys with this.
I think your right lads probably been over hyped and apparently Bloomberg have spent 0.5$billion on advertising the coronoviris and its potential pandemic all for manipulation of the markets
