No doubt it will be justified as being part of devolved government and in support of industry on Yns Mon.....a few pubs, golf courses and Sea Salt manufacture....worth every penny of subsidy, NOT!
Abuse of taxpayers' funds??? With any luck the new CEO will be a better negotiator than the clown French!
Suspect it will be flown by Eastern on a small 19/29 seat Jetstream under Fly e franchise and it will be heavily subsidised by Welsh Government......
IMHO Anglesey to Cardiff only exists as a route to take a handful of politicians and businessmen to and fro in a day, whereas by rail they would have to go via Chester. Traditionally it's been operated by a 19 seater aircraft so whatever flybe are going to use will be too big!
I guess a lot depends on the size of the regional grants the company receive for flying these sectors. But I can't see a significant profit surge from flying Cardiff - Anglesey etc. So long as Flybe aren't overly exposed, I guess they're doing it for the right reasons. Surely the capacity issues don't require excess risk taking now?
On this site? It's just so that Sambailey, The_Northam, Dinoken and Toastam can send me their email addresses so I can get their contact details to send the gift cards if they win the sub 20p bet?
Yeah, why not.
What about Sam? He's the one who's always predicted this correctly.
I hope it doesn't go anywhere near that price, butGenuine offer, if this does go sub 20p I'm definitely in, and I will 100% definitely buy all 3 of you a drink. Watch this space.
Each.
Under 20p, if that happens, I'm definitely in, and if you're right, I'll be happy to send you a 5 Marston's gift card to buy yourself a pint.
I thought we were supposed to be getting a handle on costs? Is our future to be determined by new routes like Durham to Aberdeen - adequately served by direct rail btw? Surely there should be no route experimentation but a focus on fleet reduction and serving existing profitable routes prior to selling out. With good results from IAG, RYA and Lufthansa its clear to me only the big boys can make real money in the airline game imho.
Can i tempt you with 17.88p?
17.89p........nice to see some more random prices picked out of the air!!
Shit - I was expecting 17.89p based on my charts. Sam is an optimist in my view.
The problem may be, toastal, that whilst these things are "usually in the budget" the deals were negotiated by French and his gang of idiots. I suspect they had their eye wiped in a similar fashion to when they took on the Embraer jets deal...hence we had the recent warning from the board as to the profitability at the nov announcement. I don't think the increased maintenance costs are due to one off incidents eg Amsterdam & Edinburgh etc...& should this be the case, these increased costs will remain as the current leases expire. I concur that the company simply does not have the resources at present to rebuild the fleet...so avg age will just have to rise. Def a problem approx 5-7 years ahead, although I suspect a merger or t/o will have happened by then.
I agree entirely. I think this is the bottom and expect a rise on the actual results. Yes, returns to lessor costs can be higher if problems arise, but most of the time, these are priced in to budget. I maintain that a fleet renewal at this juncture would be a big mistake for flyb. It is a cost that they can't afford.
I appreciate its only your view. Im just wondering how you came to 27p as opposed to 26p or 28p thats all.
Don't get so defensive, sacked...he only asked a question. Your answers merely highlight the FACT that you simply plucked the number 27p out of thin air and bore no reference to any expertise whatsoever...that's all. Anyone can do that, doesn't take any knowledge or skill, just plain old luck. Mind you, given we now have this FACT, it goes some way to explain why 1. You didn't have to courage to back this prediction and profit from the SP fall by shorting the stock and 2. I'm extrapolating you probably relied on a similar valuation technique when purchasing your long position at over 300p...it's just on that occasion, your luck deserted you & it wasn't down to anything else. PS despite your insistence in repeating 'the board have issued the 2nd profits warning this year'...much as you'd like it to, it won't depress the share price any further! Have a good weekend everyone!
You ask me for my prediction and I gave it to you, then ask why not +/- 0.01p difference when clearly you already know its my view only. My prediction for clarification is it will drop to these levels by year end 2017 and I am quite surprised its not trading at these levels now. Can we have your predictions given the BOD have already issued 2nd profit warning of the year.
That last sentence of sacked's must be the longest in history!! Another diatribe of repetitive nonsense. It's curious how he defines all opposing views and various comments highlighting his inaccuracies and nonsense as 'abuse'. Just can't accept his chip skews his version of the facts. With all his alleged 'right calls' one would imagine he'd made a fortune by now shorting the stock...but, alas, I fear he's just as poorly off as before, following the one call he singularly fails to highlight, ie, his huge long position north of 300p. Not too much of a 'right call' there, eh?! However, he does repeat the comment I made last week, re, the ageing fleet and the expense associated with returning aircraft to lessors. Not going to be a once off cost as more go back. I fear the maintence costs in the future may come back to haunt the company, particularly over the next 24 months
Well they havent all been correct, you've been saying 27p for a year and a half now and we're still waiting. Interesting that you didnt use any mathematical calculations. What made you go for 27p as opposed for 26p?
And given your posting history and joining dates being only a few months apart I think you and Rejection are in fact the same person. This Flybe chat forum used to be so beneficial where posters gave both positive and negative comments on company these days its just full of abuse FACT.
Northern no mathematical calculations at all its just my opinion on how the market responds to news on Flybe and the negatives behind Flybe at this moment in time, I hope you respect this response given my previous estimations have all but been correct. BUT given your posting history I expect more abuse and aggressive remarks. As your aware the 2nd profit warning this year and fourth in two years. Flybe presently have a fleet with some very old planes and these as COW has already suggested need replacing and we are expecting an update on this by year end as per previous shareholder will be asked for more money to finance such deals diluting shareholder values more think of the impact of the requirement of more cash needed to existing shareholders when the last cash injection has already gone and no shareholders have benefited as a result.
Sam i can see that you're getting frustrated that reflection wont give you a prediction. Can i ask you the same question? What do you expect in the next results? Can you walk us through your 27p prediction and the mathematical calculations and data that brought you to exactly 27p? I'm sure given your annoyance at reflection not answering your question you will answer mine.
