Might that plan not be a challenge given Flybe only hold half a doz takeoff / landing slots at LHR and LGW combined? Also, given the nature how Flybe got those slots, I think there’s a caveat that AIG can’t get their hands on them via the Flybe capture route...although I stand to be corrected on that last point. I agree wholeheartedly about the lack of depth & quality in the exec team. Look at the SP performance of ezy over last two years...I’m glad I’ve had a holding there...in comparison to Flybe. COW doesn’t impress me too much, especially after I heard O’Leary speak at a conference. I’m no fan of him personally, but he’s nothing if not a business leader!!
My point exactly! Clearly the person on here who doesn’t have a clue, as usual, is the troll...sacked Bailey!
He’s like a scratched record...and about as much use! Just going round and round, the same old tripe dished up time after time! Nothing new, no detail, just trolled bile! Blah, blah, blah, blah...!!! Fuel will affect every airline, so no issue. Only thing different will be individual company hedging policies. Brexit...non issue! Vast majority of flights originate in UK. Aircraft configuration...can be pushed out to when leases expire, so not a short or even medium term issue. Now, get back to collecting those trollies from the supermarket car park, Sacked!
Couldn’t be sure where their bid was pitched, but I don’t think you’d be too far from it at 55p. However, given the prospects over the next 2-3 years, that would (in my opinion) have undervalued the business. Good uptick for the hedge funds piling in mid 30s, but not enough for the institutional investors in longer term. Week ending above 40p resistance level is a good sign. Whilst there will be quiet weeks ahead, by Xmas this should have appreciated by some margin.
More than likely. What bidder wouldn’t, especially given the recent record of the target company...but they clearly saw the worst of the news (hopefully) was in the past. With capacity & costs falling, the upside potential is clear to see. If book valid is c70p, any bid will need to be min 25% over that...but I’d caution that valuation as, like all, it’s subjective and may or may not be wholly accurate.
The fall in Cable is starting to make the fx hedging look a bit better too...hopefully the treasury guys at Flybe too the opportunity to top up a few USD when it was north of 1.40 Would really like to hear more from the exec on how the IT upgrade is progressing & how many more aircraft are expected to be handed back to lessors over next 18 months
Once market cap reaches c90m GBP, it will very likely re-enter the ftse small cap index, which will force numerous tracker funds to buy in, driving price upwards owing to lack of stock availability. Almost an ‘operational gearing’ in itself! Onwards and upwards!
I suspect a market maker or broker is sitting on a chunky sell order at or around 40p and this is being whittled away day-by-day. Once that's filled, the SP should progress. Glad I'm along for the ride!
Lol!! Liking that simile!! Yes, almost at 40p resistance level again...we get through this and next stop is 45p. Still don’t see stobart coming back anytime soon, but even without them, or any other bidder, the improved yields and lower capacity will drive this stock higher. That’s not to say there won’t be another unwanted / unexpected surprise, but hey, that’s the airline / equity business!
Did we all get out of bed the wrong side this morning?! Everyone chill...no point in getting at each other's throats when there is so much to look forward to at the moment...falling costs and rising turnover equals bigger profits!
He doesn’t have any to sell, northam, he’s just a multi account holding troll.
Unrealisdikhead8 gets dragged out by sacked yet again! Pitiful troll!!!
Couldn’t agree with you more, mayfield. A pitiful article by a journalist from the lower 6th form. As for the bandwagon jumping by the sacked troll...it really comes as no surprise given his past (lousy) record. I’m much more interested in how many other leases are due up over the next 18 months and the progression of the recently announced IT project...ie, real news!
What utter tripe! Anyone who is influenced by an issue such as that, doesn’t fly with anyone; absolutely nothing to do with Flybe. In fact, if anything, the article explains how the airline immediately looked after its passengers by providing alternative transport! As for the journalist in question...think he needs a new career. My 9 year old nephew could write a better article than that! Stop being a troll and stick to real issues for the company! Pitiful!
Apology accepted!! Fear not, I’m nothing to do with the sacked idiot! Woe betide me if I was!! Very low volume today...wonder what the reason is for that?
Thanks, but perhaps you could spell check my name please?!! Wouldn’t want to cast you in the same light as sacked Sam and his merry band of accounts!
Resistance at 40p was being tested last week and I think if there is any kind of similar momentum this week, this stock could be in for a re-rating. I for one don’t buy the recent HSBC analyst’s opinion. Whilst the c7m IT spend is an up front cost, it must be viewed as an investment, the time value of which hasn’t been factored in as yet. Am back in at a hair under 38p so fingers crossed for the weeks ahead. GLA fellow investors
I know this was just a trading update today, but I was a little surprised there was no ref to the recent approach by Stobart...nor how the IT spend of c£7m was progressing. Think a little more info for investors from the board might not go amiss
Fundamentals look a lot stronger, which is probably why the board rebuffed the recent approach from Stobart. Ruling out the exceptional event of the weather (although there’s always the possibility of something else) the RNS does paint a much brighter picture. Capacity will continue to reduce and load factors improve...costs will fall and profitability increase. The airline industry is notoriously risky, but given the fixed cost gearing, has the potential for significant uplift (no pun intended). At c35p it’s now looking like a risk worth taking...however this would be based on fundamentals not a possible t/o, which I consider to be unlikely at this time.
Come on sacked, just answer mayfield’s questions...we are all waiting!!! (Blimey, we’d better be patient!!)
