Rejection At least you now agree with me that Flybe are in a real mess and as per your comment it’s hard to see investors putting more cash into this failing company. No point putting more cash into any business that has never paid any return to its investors. Pleased you now are in agreement with me that’s a positive step forward for you I know it’s hard to accept you were wrong all this time.
You can sense the glee in you post.. i'm glad you lost your money!!!! The various news stories.. that are just reiterating what was in the RNS? See my posts below, no comment?? Funny as that was all based on FACT which you struggle to deal with. Just consistently posting news articles (when they are negative) "Cash burn is now a serious concern" funny as they are still making a profit in spite of one-off IT and stated maintenance costs and with fleet size reduced things are getting better IMO. I will agree with you BoD earnings are OTT but comments regarding leadership and excuses I will disagree. If you are so sure the SP is heading to the 20s open a short.. no??
Cash burn is now a serious concern for the airline and as already stated its only a matter of time before the begging bowl to come out asking for more cash to update fleet and top up the bank account for the cash burn to only continue more advanced cuts needed than what we have seen to date from COW. We need positive leadership without the continual excuses. Remember how much COW is earning and what she has been given already.
You have sold is it not time for you to shove a banana ...some mother's have em complete dunce:-)
Will Flybe be the next one to go under certainly if you read the various news stories on the second profit warning of the year and the level of cash burn you would think its just now a matter of time. I am not surprised at the total negativity towards Flybe and I reiterate my previous postings and believe strongly now 20's is just around the corner.
A couple of hundred quid in here. Going to spend a couple of days watching S.P. To see where the dust settles. So goes up, confidence returning, sp goes down, a few more extra shares for my money. I'll be happy to put them on a back burner for a couple of years.
I don't know anything further into the incidents so cannot comment - and wouldn't if i did. The age of the aircraft and engine efficiency is totally unrelated. The engines are regularly checked, replaced and overhauled. Embraer engines are efficient and the Q400 engine is fantastic, i cant recall figures but its very very impressive. The thing is the costs of general maintenance are fairly set. They either have their own engineers at X base (set wages and costs) or out source the whole of X base operations (set price) parts etc. ok can be expensive but generally i would think are on warranty/set cost agreements. I have my suspicions - as these are "unexpected costs" "particularly Q400" that they are in someway related to the hand-back checks (this requires the aircraft to be in the exact same condition they were on delivery).
I hope I look back in 6 months and all is forgiven. Gutted.
Cannot believe the result today. Inc my Share by 5000 but absolutely gutted and also RNS non specific about about the future. Is this on radar for a Takeover Target from Stobart again ? Would it benefit us with sp or not ? I just feel they have a Monopoly and could expand further into Europe esp with Monarch being deleted. 75 million Market Cap are you kidding me ?
Statler and Waldorf appear strangely reserved today on what is a field day for them. Mind you, I'm feeling a bit of a muppet myself today!!
Well I have to say very dissapointed. Sold out think this looks very poor now. You win some you lose some. : ( GL for any holders
I'm a fan of this story, but today's news should be looked at in detail as you suggest. There were a couple of incidents, one at AMS and another at BFS, although that's about 18 mths ago. I think there may have need another at EDI but can't remember specifics. However, the majority must relate to a fleet which is now looking rather tatty & tired. Older engines are less fuel efficient too. Added to that, this will be an ongoing issue and may get worse. A cash call will more than likely be needed to replace some of the fleet and that may have spooked investors too. I'm out for now with a small profit on last trade, but it was a much bigger paper profit last night. I'm not ruling out a small bounce tomorrow, but the fundamental issue above, isn't going to change. As for fair value, I'll have to extrapolate some numbers, especially after nov numbers are released, but if there is going to be a 5m or do ongoing maintenance hole to plug, that hits the bottom line big time. Pity, as things were looking good. Hence the issues when investing in equities and particularly, airlines. Good luck all...
Nothing like monarch what so ever. You think Flybe have legacy issues, compared to monarch the E195s are a godsend!!!!
My thoughts exactly. Market spooked by the profit warning and understandably so. However, why is there a reduced projected profit? Because of one off costs which will improve the ongoing performance (i believe/imagine there have also been extra costs in regards to major aircraft damage at AMS and a tail strike - i forget where). So this to me is actually further good news, with the Q400 hand-backs are nearly complete and E195s going to Stobart for next season, Flybe look to be positioning themselves actually quite well IMO. As i have said before the fleet decision that will need to be taken in the near-term will be vital and i really hope they stick to/go with the Q400/E175 combo. But at this price it is looking attractive.
Nothing whatsoever Trent, but there are lots jumping on the bandwagon. Let's see what the actual numbers show in November.
Is there anything to suggest flybe is going the same way as Monarch? I've not seen anything yet, but then again, I've only just started looking at flyb
Think we are all doomed....let's all sell our shares so the newly invigorated shooters can make a fortune....or not. Like Monarch FFS!!
I think I might just dip my toe in here.
bad enough to be on the itv news, comparing it with monarch. Numis Under Review status not good news either.
it confirmed we are in profit, what an opportunity for those who wanted to top up
So why did you pile a "life changing amount of money" into this business, sacked? Your gloating only serves to highlight how idiotic your decision was
And yet Flybe beat them hands down on punctuality.....
Any idea what average age BA/Easy/Aer Lingus have?
It feels like this news was timed to quash the recent momentum in the share price. Interesting to note there's 1.5m buys, versus 1.0m sells today and it's not even mid day.
Having read all the comments I feel this is prime target for takeover.. imo
