As. I said dont be suprised ZIMBABWE it is
Going out on a limb here with this statement but the growth of this company needs to be more dynamic then just servicing smaller cites has we are at the moment, so I see one aircraft to Zimbabwe and two to South Africa re the tie up with federal. We need the two to three flights per day to/ from the same big cites to up our income into the coffers, can we see a RNS soon on this or are discussions still taking place. In the mean time we have three aircraft not earning anything and the longer it goes on the next bit of money going out will be planned servicing on these aircraft.
Excellent point! I guess this would not only increase capacity (though perhaps not if some frequencies were reduced due to longer flight times) and free up the 2 ERJ145s for (re)deployment elsewhere (say Mozambique or South Africa).
They want them in one place to keep control on costs, dont be surprised if they end up in Zimbabwe
Interesting, I could see the ATR72s deployed as follows.... - 1 to Zimbabwe to support the routes (exc BUQ) mentioned here - 1 to Tanzania to support smaller airports / thinner routes such as Kigoma, Mtwara, etc - 1 or 2 to Mozambique if fastjet gets to operate more domestic routes under the recent MoU You could also make a case that a deployment in South Africa (via Federal Air) also makes sense though given the fact that it is by far and away the largest, and most developed market, with the best infrastructure in Africa I would've thought that going in with E190s from the off was okay.
You are on the right track, what I can say that currently there is flexibility as to where the ATR72 end up being based, current situation is fluent and dependent on several outside factors
fjetcrazy, apologies if I've 'let the cat out the bag' as it were, in that case!! Though to me this only becomes positive news when it is agreed and that it is actually happening - from looking at the tweet that I found (and posted) Jerry Haas is suggesting that this isn't happening any time soon - have I misunderstood??
The only reason I did not post the link is because I was asked not to for the time being
Indeed it is

Taskmaster, problem is it is in the nebulous potential 'jam tomorrow' category rather than something actual and concrete....
Not enough to move the dial...but can't remember the last time there were Buys... real actual Buys.... the last chance to buy at this level....I hope. Fair play to Nico and team.
It is.
Its interesting to note that LAM have fiercely denied reports of not being able to pay fuel bills to provider BP, rather they are citing fuel shortages, its also very interesting to note that all LAM flights are CANX domestically, so any customers are already being onloaded to Fastjet, my only concern is that Fjet have assurance from Government of PAYMENT.
One interesting thing for me about this piece of news - which I agree is indeed good - is why has this not merited an RNS??
LAM - Linhas Areas de Moambique (TM, Maputo) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fastjet Mozambique (Maputo) regarding future long-term commercial cooperation between the two parties. A press release said the agreement was signed in Maputo on Tuesday, March 20, and lasts for six years and enters into force immediately. It covers code-share and interline agreements between the two carriers, the development of optimized network synergies, as well as cooperation in other commercial fields including cargo, engineering, and aircraft maintenance. LAM chief executive Antnio Pinto said that the areas of cooperation will not only further strengthen Mozambiques flag carrier as a regional air-services provider but contribute significantly to initiatives that promote tourism, economic development and trade. For its part, Fastjet Mozambique was launched in late 2017 and charters two ERJ-145s from technical partner Solenta Aviation Mozambique (Maputo) to run regular flights throughout Mozambique connecting Maputo, Beira, Nampula, and Tete. Its entry into the market was as a result of the Mozambican government's eagerness to improve connectivity throughout the expansive southern African state given LAM's operational woes. As such, this MOU comes as both parties prepare for the entry of Ethiopian Airlines (ET, Addis Ababa) into the domestic Mozambican market, tentatively due next month. Ethiopian has already incorporated a company in the country - Ethiopian Mozambique Airlines Lda - ahead of the launch of flights.
Methuselah. Thanks for that, most helpful; NOT!
Only one flight operated so far today, with one tech E190
Someone is buying them and someone is selling them, I suppose. Isn't that what happens in a market?
There is probably a good explanation, but what is the significance of the repeated pattern of the quite large volume of late trades well below the closing price during the last few trading days?
