I rarely have a specific target and don't again in this instance J2300.
Especially in this instance, as it's impossible to know the scale of value that might come from one of the investments going well, just going to be a case of playing it by ear.
Also value is relative, if I was on a small profit I might decide to put it elsewhere, if I saw more value there, even if I still saw value here.
I'm sure you've had various PIs sell out too - that's natural - but PIs are easy come, easy go, and easy come again (although never quite so easy the next time).
I regularly buy into things when it's quiet and nobody's investing, or into things that are at their lows and lots of people have sold out (and/or are grumpy). PIs having sold is nothing to worry about (generally) and in fact you're generally better off buying then rather than when the share is busy, the price is high, and everyone's happy.
chilston: The end of your first paragraph just sums things up and why this is probably just somewhere near the bottom of the second dip on the sentiment curve: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fN2ZhDyP1Aw/SSYaNZxqwqI/AAAAAAAABA8/enzu_IVWCiE/s400/Sentiment+curve+1.jpg
I saw the mistake RNS - I think you're misunderstanding it chilston and it's simply an error (copying an old RNS) and doesn't identify the current distressed seller (if there is one).
Stagnation no doubt accounts for some selling but it's my view you've probably just got a larger seller who's resulted in the balance of buys versus stagnation not being in favour of buys. Once they stop I think you'll see a bounce as I say. I could be wrong but that's my bet.
What is your target Rich? We may have lost a few LTHs over the past few days as well, unless these are all coming from the ‘seller’ that has been selling for months.
Hi Rich, i remember you. good to see you here. i think this board has now reached a certain sense of machurity to be fair, we have had our moans, fall outs etc, but i think we are all passed that now and i think we are probably all just slightly exhausted and just want positivity.
just some thoughts for you... we 'did' have a distressed seller, it would appear that it was a financial investment firm. i think ffwd sent out an rns by mistake about it. i beleive that the current sellers are 'panick' sellers, frustrated sellers as we have not had a continual pattern of the same amounts each day, like we did before.
the ongoing stagnation of the sp, combined with the recent rns is driving some investors to throw their money elsewhere, which is fine, understandable tbh.
as lord snooty has suggested, the fundamentals are still sound, and eventually im assuming we wont get many sellers soon, most of us are in for the long haul. of course - we might get one huge rns which gives ffwd staggering profits to then help scale the fund. thats what im looking for, and im pretty happy with leap as our backstop and factom/juv/emmac
as for the current price of you buying in... you lucky b****d :-)
I know it's my choice to buy in.....funnily enough I don't have trouble remembering that. Not sure why you think I would.
Yes - objective and unbiased conversations would be nice.....I hold out little hope of this ;)
Anyway, I believe there's probably just a distressed/forced seller at the moment, who's been offloading the big blocks and others in round numbers. Once that stops, the balance of the other trades is mostly buying, and there's a good chance of the bounce you all want. Obviously I think this isn't going to be too far off the bottom or I wouldn't have bought a good chunk. Fingers crossed for us all I'm right - been having a pretty successful 2019 so far.
Worst is over now.... We are dredging the bottom and hitting clay!
I'd say welcome back to this BB Rich.... but ...if you've chosen to genuinely buy in again it's your choice...please remember that....
and while we all have days where we rant, I'm sure we all want to keep conversations within the realm of keeping the tone and content either genuinely objective or of value.
Still has the same promise from some things. Still has some duds. MCAP coming back down to a more sensible level to reflect that. Upside remains if any of the better ones go big.
Vogogo cash looked like it might be a write-off but Bitcoin having doubled in a month or so will help give them a fighting chance of staying alive long enough to pay it back.
The metrics are good, the future is bright, just temporary blues, it'll all be alright.
What on earth has happened to this company? Had so much promise and is now down what 70% on highs last year?
Well I've done my bit. 8p on the ask was good enough to add a hefty chunk on the spreads.
who knows but down here is stupid... beyond stupid. there is no problem imo averaging down in this fund, as its not like we are going bankrupt. proper mcap is circa 16m...
wish i had more to add, i probably could if i moved other shares around. will it go down further? quite possibly, but this wont be for long, eventually this willl rise again, and i dont even think it needs investor sentiment for this to turn blue. im still thinking rerate soon, dead cat bounce and all that technical stuff
go much lower surely?
That is my thinking anyway so I have added a few. Time will tell if it was a shrewd move, shaved a bit off my average if nothing else. Now down to 13.2 gulp!
True but we are probably due a rerate at some point don't you think? That can happen at anytime on no news at all. Web did it, do did farn a couple of weeks back
Yes, and all we need now is someone to actually purchase a few shares; preaching to the converted here is all very well, but a news article in a national newspaper, or a broker recommendation, for example, might stimulate more buying.
Great to see positivity on this board now especially since we are at a record low. I think this is because we know we are seriously over sold, we know the real value of ffwd and we know what's coming this year. Hopefully soon this position will be a distant memory
Ah. In that case, maybe it's about time old Snooty followed Chillpots on Twitter.
Because the guy that closed is tweeted it yesterday and I replied to him!
JtR - how do you know a short was closed?
A short was closed yesterday, I think a few decent buys and we will quickly move back to double figures. People need to remember we have the mid year financials next month too so potential uplift in NAV.
