Sorry - dont get you. Who are you talking about? Im seriously going to cut my losses on this one. :(
i dont mean any offense, although there is a certain person who has been tipping shares like this at 80p myh at 50p amoung many others. although i wish everybody luck and that person luck. i do hope they are not loosing to much money.
Win some (blnx) lose some (this one has really stuffed my profits from BLNX).
these may be a godd buy, but the share price has been stagnant for ages. needs a rocket up its ar*e to get the sp moving towards its proper value lol. i think people are frustrated and are bailing out, hence the large number of sells over the last few weeks
am truly grateful that you took the trouble to reply - followed up what you said - very helpful thanks
Look up the terms Nett profit and Gross profit on Wikipedia or a business terms site. Gross profit is not the one to pay that much attention to, Nett profit is, that tells whether the company can or cannot or is makeing money. Hardly any AIM companies pay a dividend, if you want that invest in Blue Chip stocks or Bonds.............Speculative Oil companys and Miners and researching Pharmas and some Computer companies invariably show losses, the gamble being that they'll discover something or patent a new technology etc. Be careful of companies who put big value on Goodwill sometimes put under Intangible Assets (refer to Wikipedia) on the accounts. This is an area where Shorters target overvalued companies. Good Luck and don't jump into any stock without researching it first, look at the trends, always buy at the bottom no matter what, don't be afraid, then hang on. The few times at bought at mid range on a share I've been burnt. Recent example Tanfield (TAN), just look at their graph and you'll see why.........Good luck, learn all you can and you'll make good decisions and don't believe all you read on these boards, but there are some whose advise is brilliant!
tell me why this is such a good buy ? ....... all of the news and comments are positive, and the shares seem to be at a bargain price, and I am trying to do some research to make a better informed decision rather than blindly hit the buy button .....so I have just read the end of year / half year results - and hands up - I'm a total novice at financials - so could be way off beam but a few things confuse / bother me. The company does not actually make a nett profit and dosent seem to pay a dividend. The company seems to make a big gross profit on turnover - but has big spending that uses it all up A huge proportion of the asset value (£19 million) is goodwill - can this disappear in a puff of smoke in bad times? Would really appreciate a bit of guidance from you experienced guys - cos in the past I couldnt be bothered to Do Any Research ... and just jumped in (and boy did I get burned) and now when I try to do some research my brain fries with too much information that perhaps I dont fully understand. So back to my original question - in simple terms why is FAN such a good buy - not being negative just want to be a bit less gung ho with my hard earned and find out what you guys know that I dont know. Thanks all
What on earth is going on? Just when I think my PF is getting better (blnx) - this happens! :(
sorry wrong site, should have been TAN
jsut read through the Telegraph article, scary how you coudl have repalced TAN with VAN or even NRK and a lot of the story would have been the same. great idea, good growth, CEO larger than life, spending too much money, starting tohave to lie hoping to save something before being found out and the everything coems tumbling down, hope the ending is dfifferent! If soemthing is too good to be true it probably is too good to be true.
Normally when a sale/disposal is announced there is the general rise in the share price. If it takes a while you can get drifting downwards but this seems a lot more. PI's are always the last to know when a sale has fallen through, and by the time the news has been released, the shares have already dropped by a large amount. I have seen this on several shares and being a PI really is the ****ty end of the stick. Having said that it could just be being hammered by general market sentiment and news could suddenly arrive of the sale and it will rocket. Those are just the pains, and joys, of being a PI. It is all a gamble but at this price it looks like a good punt. As for what you say about market cap to assets, ACG has a market cap of £2m but has an IVA book with a value of approx £12.6m - and is breaking even and close to profit with cash in the bank. I have 20k shares there as a punt, showing a small loss at the moment along with the rest of my shares, but for te chance of the punt coming good they will stay in there. May look at getting into FAN if it drops below 50p but i am pretty chocca with shares at the moment. Regards IHNC
yes, you would think that it would be that simple but it is never so, may be the potential buyer has also seen something in the due diligenc process which has scared them which might have something to do with the price. Strange again today that the price has dropped without any trade whatsoever
thanks, do you know whne news is expected either about the sale or results?
Are you aware of any upcoming news. The sale you mention, is that the same you mentioned when you first reccomended this share as the safest bet ever at 76?. The market has not taken a kind view to this one but it is incredibly low P/e and as long as it is no one of these companies which we have seen to many of recently with skeletons in their cupboards it should be Ok for the medium term. Are they about to report since you are talking about them today ?
What this needs is news on the sale. Been fairly boring tbh. Hope something good happens soon :)
the share price is a joke on a number of shares at the moment, BRR, BNLN, BLNX, NNG, ULT all spring to mind. i know we are deep in a financial crisis, but what possible reason could MM's have for holding prices back? surely it would help not just the company but the economy as a whole if they allowed shares to fiind their own levels that at least bear some resemblance to the news they are releasing.
Rising nicely today. :)
Yeah - my trade is showing on there...
don't forget, they also trade on PLUS http://www.plusmarketsgroup.com/details.shtml?ISIN=GB00B1HLCW86/GBP/PLUS-exn
Bought 300 quids worth in the end. Not much I know. Got them at 75p! Seems a good price to me...
...I was just swinging between this and JRVS. Tough call - been looking at both closely and a lot happening on both! Will decide in the next hour or so...
What is your estimated timescale on this one rising in your opinion? Just curious :)
I am pretty new to this so just wanted to know :) Does seem like a great buy so think I will be in tomorrow morning - price permitting! Appreciate the info!
thats what Im doing at the moment! Does look great - but what if the sale doesnt go through? It all hinges on that doesnt it? I guess thats unlikely but if it doesnt wont this fall a fair bit?
