This is a case of real sour grapes on the part of this CJ Johnson driver who will probably TUPE across to Morrisons anyway. A smaller company with lower overheads charge more compared to Morrisons. Thats how it could be re-worded too.
Time to sell at that point. Money will be made
Ftse futures are down again so shaping up for another difficult day/week but I think we all knew that anyway. Your right confidence isn’t great right now and any rise we might see will be tempered by that!
Smaller hauliers hate stobarts that’s well known within the industry. It’s seen as a behemoth that steam rollers small independent firms out of the business and undercuts everyone in order to makes sure they take the business ...... in other words they are successfully by being cut throat and doing whatever it takes to fill their order book which is great for investors!
Haha I didn’t look I’m guessing some choice language!

The thousand+ comments under the cjj post make interesting reading
"Alan, Every company that has delayed, or will delay their EOY Financials has stated as such via RNS, therefore I expect ESL to be issuing one.
"
Good point bladey, not that's a two week delay would be much of an issue, but maybe something to looks forward to tomorrow

Alan, Every company that has delayed, or will delay their EOY Financials has stated as such via RNS, therefore I expect ESL to be issuing one.
The FCA only made a recommendation to companies to have a delay under the current business climate, those especially that have been affected due to lack of business in the last 2 months have taken up that offer... In retrospect ESL's business has benefited from current situation multi-fold if not more, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future, especially until this crisis within the U.K is done with.
All IMO.. but based on facts, DYOR... Unless I've missed an RNS or an excerpt from with last few RNS's stating a withdrawal of EOY Financials.
Fantastic news from our points of view, shame to see this happen to a small family business. Survival of the fittest, hopefully the share price will reflect this
They were encouraged to delay publishing results by the FCA, so may be a week or two beforeo they are out, but who knows, not me!
Trading update would be nice. Government has stated that the lockdown type conditions will be longer than expected but I don't think anyone really thought it would just be 3 weeks, easier to sell to the public in short snippets
Sure there will be an RNS stating securing of any new contracts Alan.. but if this has happened recently then may take a few days ...OR as I expect them to release and end of year financial report, tomorrow.. I predict/hope, there will a small piece relating to a trading update and some forward plans outlined.
It would be good to see company validation of this, would be great news. That said, as will all BB and Twitter posts, I'll assume it is nonsense until confirmed by the company.
In all honesty it’s not really that Cj transport that they’ve denied the work to. it must be a contract that was due for renewal so likely that wincanton, maritime and dentressangle was all bidding as well and those are the company’s that will have lost out.
It’s economy of scale ESL are huge! more buying power and so on, they can do things cheaper and put lower bids in for contracts that’s just business and good news for us. Yet more contracts being signed up great news.
Did you tell him to invest in the enemy?
A trucker friend shared this on FBOOK earlier - Not validated it personally the hauler is CJ Johnston Transport:
So just to give everyone an update on the current situation. Tonight will be our last night doing work on the Morrison’s contract. This is due to the fact that STOBARTS have undercut everyone and agreed a deal with them. These are the transport industry’s very own Coronavirus, these clowns are the very reason why the transport industry is on its knees. Businesses like ours just can’t compete and run at non profit or even for cost, this is not sustainable. Just over a week ago I thought we had secured our future as a business and that of the drivers, now we are facing the battle of survival. For years the red and green army have been doing this and are destroying genuine, hard working family businesses and owner drivers across the country. The sooner these fold like a pack of cards the better it will be for everyone involved in transport.
We will try and stay positive, and continue to provide a great service to our customers, the service that has got us to the position we are in today.
I would personally like to say a huge thank you to our hard working dedicated drivers without them this would not be possible.
Keep safe everyone and see you all on the other side of this. Keep on trucking ??
