Thinking it'll drag the sp down to 5p?
Jamglas simple answer is yes or no. No one can tell you for sure. Lack of regular trades coupled with investors offloading their 9p shares to take up the 5p shares should bring the price down IMO. But no way of knowing what will actually happen to the SP. ESL is not a stock for the risk averse. DYOR
I have had two offers from ESL. Basic and Excess. I topped up about two weeks ago for 8.5 and they are the excess, the current holding I had is the basic. If I go through with both of these then that will be a ****load of shares. Not sure I want to do that at the moment. So my question is, if I do not accept this offer would the price automatically drop to around 5p from the 8.8 it is at the moment? This is a new one for me in my limited investment experience. Got until 22nd December ( basic ) and 31 December ( excess ) to decide.
Gut feel this will come good in the medium to long term.
I'd sent HL a message asking anyway, they confirmed no charge, cheers for your reply though Mardler.
Dave tbh id be worried if they were doing anything that wasn't benefitting the largest share holder lol. But I agree they aren't bothered about us in the slightest. Lets just hope that what benefits DBay also benefits us. I'd have to be blind to not see that this is a risky investment....hence why it is only a small part of my portfolio. I'd hope no one here is betting the farm on steady eddie lol
TF I like onc. i know you're not a big fan of pharma but check it out.
Banxy this open offer deal is mainly to benefit Dbay as the largest shareholder and depending what they've got lined up there might be value buying at this price.. depends what you value the whole package as after the deal is done.
Its not odd, just the way it works. I think if you're willing to hold then 5p is a good entry point. This company is not without its problems, but they do have a plan for the future, and improving finances so DYOR but im hopeful. Hopeful at 5p....not so much at the current SP
I sold my existing holding. Between now and the date of the new shares being issued i can only see the SP going down. Where is the incentive for anyone to buy in when they know they are paying over the odds for diluted shares of an indebted shell of a company. If it involves taking a loss then its your decision but I was able to retain a small profit and dump my existing holding after qualifying for the 5p shares. A ,uch safer position IMO. DYOR
5p is a bargain. Unless you at least double your investment I think it would be foolish to sell short term
So the day after they are issued then, in theory the share price should rise with the increase in volume and then dip once people start to sell. I would imagine quite a few will keep the shares though, I will be...
I rang Hargreaves Lansdown on Friday, asked them when I would be able to sell. The 23rd of December is the date we’ll be able to sell them.
Phil, there are not usually any fees for this type of issue.
I imagine as soon as they are added to your account
Either way I've just submitted my request for my full entitlement, anyone else?
It could go either way in my view.
What do people think the sp will open after the offer whether to sell existing shares now or not any advice I’m new to this
I got the message off HL yesterday too, might be a silly question but does anyone know if they will charge the usual fee for the transaction?
Sold my shares on the 9th. Received the notification today (based upon my shareholding on the 8th) so buying back in along with a top up, ironic twist of fate! That's if the share price doesn't tank but I do think they have good potential long term. Still seems odd to me i.e. technically I am not a shareholder and was still able to receive this offer.
Thanks for clarification re HL.
I think its worth a gamble and even top up @5p if any spare.
I called HL earlier today and they said they will message us when we can. They said they havnt received all the info they need yet.
Anyone know when we can take up the offer? Can see the open offer in my HL account, but doesn't look like I can deal yet.
Yes whilst share price remains at a premium its free money
