Matt Fernley of Battery Materials Review and The Volta Hedge fund shares his analysis pointing toward $5,000 spodumene and $60,000 lithium carbonate prices and why high lithium battery materials prices are likely to significantly constrain EV sales growth.

Are these guys saying $90,000 a tonne Lithium by June ???
Allkem sees lithium carbonate prices rising 80% in half year to June

I will accept KC holding back on offtake if he can get $90 K a tonne .
Despite me saying I'd stay away, I came across this posted back In early Dec last year.

Keith is on the panel, amongst other project leads from across Europe, and I think this is his most recent media appearance. Apologies if already been shared.
No updates on the project, but just some additional insight. My take away points were:
- Not expecting any issues with recruitment; No shortage in the area of qualified people and some even approaching "cold" from other countries to work on the project
- No against the idea of acquiring more projects (in Europe), but doesn't seem that they're actively pursuing any i.e. keeping an eye out (Even looked at a Cornish tin mine perhaps CUSN/South Crofty, but ultimately didn't buy)
- A lot of hoops to jump through to get EU funding, as expected
Some other bits about the lithium market/demand, but not specific to EMH.

a remarkable article about Tin II think that everyone here will get excited about !!

Tesla has started to produce cars out of Berlin. The battery they use in the model y is the 2170 cell. The design of the car is an earlier iteration of this model. When Tesla has got the production running smooth they will change to the structural pack with the 4680 cell. These will also be made at Berlin. When this happens the production will open out and supply cars trucks and any high power application. The amount of lithium needed will be eye watering and Tesla likes short supply lines. The timeline for this is quite close to our timeline only a short adjustment on our part and it's the bullseye. What a coup that would be a Tesla offtake sp to the moon as they say. One can always dream.
I would think that Keith is as frustrated as anyone about the delys and political interference too as he has a good chunk invested here, the delays in the long run could prove fortunate I say that with the Price of Litrhium and Tin being what they are , Yes the mine could be closer to production, getting an up front pre paid contract and thus very little dilution to share holders will if managed be a fantastic worse while wait,IMO those results must be due to drop very soon im eager too.
Personally I think Keith has played this best he could with all the delays and political interference we will see.
Fantastic news. If only we had a mine or at least some reliable information about how/when we are going to get there exactly.
The CEO is basically MIA and he has no credibility left at this point - no timeline he ever talked about was kept as far as I remember. This mine should already be up and running for quite a while now according to the investor presentations at the time when I bought in. Looking at our competitors, I paid quite a high opportunity cost for my mistake. Only the fundamentals keep me here because they are so good that no amount of incompetence and mishaps justify a share price this low and a rerate must be coming at some point. Yet, I would prefer to continue with a different leadership team for optimal shareholder returns. Not advice, DYOR

and to supply over 60% of the lithium demand from local sources. ( my figure suggests this to be 180,000 tonnes )
This decade is critical and the momentum to act is NOW.

We are very close I would say .
Benchmark Mineral Intelligence’s Miller is also expecting far more attention to be paid to raw material supply by cell manufacturers and automakers, which may grow their engagement upstream in order to secure raw materials.
Fastmarkets is expecting to see long-term supply deals negotiated.
I think we are more likely to see supply contracts based on unfixed prices,” Adams said.

Interesting , have they been speaking with Geomet , Cez and or EMH ???
I did exactly the same all that hype with Tesla trying to pump sp. Lenigas started shouting about EMH. I think he invested about 300k very early on. I bought in at 11p been in and out for years. I am now all in for hopefully the start of a relate 2022 should be the year. I hope they accelerate the progress to catch the hi lithium price.
Bob
I invested many (too early ) moons ago in REM too. The "Mining Investment Trust" concept is fine, but mining is a "long game" and unfortunately I also fell for the Lenigas hype aswell. I took some advice from some LTH's at the time and invested directly in EMH and BCN, which has served me well. I'm hoping EMH will come good shortly, it looks from the outside as a no-brainer, considering all the factors we all know, and I wont repeat.
Lets hope we get some updates soon.
My original investment into the rare earths/metals (not just Li) was via REM (now KDNC) - which in retrospect was very forward thinking (many investors just get in a while too early on some stocks especially like this one - still waiting for ??). But then I met the CEO of REM (he is non-exec here - I know) and went to many AGMs - some time later I realised that whatever happened to the REM investments the market wasn't that keen on him and that he had a lot to prove to them - in the meantime he (+some other bod members) was taking a nice salary out of our hard earned. His presentation skills and treatment of retailers did not instil any confidence in me and I left KDNC before the iron ore mine/port - I hope that they all do well over there as I had met so many nice retailers some of whom are here too. So - good fortune to all here - hoping that we do not get screwed by company directors or the market and we gain a fair ROI - this is most probably the most important year for us here in EMH - looking forward to the mine being developed into what has been advertised and one that justifies the long wait. Have a good weekend / bon Week-end / preji vám hezký víkend / Schönes Wochenende.
Probably some disappointed KDNC holders moving some money over here. No news really, projects progressing fine, but it was a reality check for some dreaming/speculating about imminent Sonora JV sale or acceleration, etc. So many of those wanting more exposure to lithium will pivot to EMH.
buying today pushing us along nicely, see if we can hold it for the close .
I musta had a crystal ball , been spruiking this for five years .
Battery-grade lithium price set to rise 50% within a year
and trade at around US$52.5 per kilogram in January 2023,
( And I believe that price to be a bit short ) . WOW getting closer to $12.50 a share profit based on our 50 % , now give it a PE of 10 .

in total agreement with you - both.
Good to see some logic entering the market about use of H.
on the edge of my seat now waiting for some sp re-aligning news
Bob - it's as I've said all along, and will continue to do so. Hydrogen makes no sense as an energy storage and transfer medium as it wastes 40% of the energy you start with. There are few situations where such profligacy makes economic sense. Even with abundant free solar, wind, tide, hydro electric or whatever, why would you want to waste 40% of what you start with? If there is a valid argument for weight saving for larger transport where economies of scale kick in, fair enough. But for ICE it's a non-starter, even before the hassle and cost of creating yet another energy distribution infrastructure.
Very interesting short article. Sort of confirms what I thought regarding hydrogen. It may well however have a place for planes / trains/ ships, but your general small scale transport will be electric (battery) in my opinion.
Come on EMH - give us an update!!!
"Can't understand what's going on here . Of my four junior mining stocks EMH is the only one not increasing sp today ."
Neither can I. None of my five mining stocks are rising today.
Should not the majority partner be leading the mine's development? After all it is European based and should be more familiar with the regulations .
