Of course, to be fair I was very close to selling on open Monday - was offered 35p & would only have been a small loss. Just watching to see if any reasonable bounce, then reassess. atb Au
Understand your decision completely matey. i have been mulling this one myself. can see "long term holds" is another description for "dogs"... i have re- considered these interims and compared to last years interimns and May's finals. My worry was that they were running low on cash and might need to raise. but they re-paid loans in the last 6 months, and with the seasonality to the P&L i think they will be fine. Current Assets less Current liabillities is not materially lower than this time last year. They do have a problem getting clients to pay on time, and also with the rupee USD risk. But surely these are operational issues that can be improved upon. They have a lot of experience in production, and it looks likely jungle book will be a success. It's interesting their book value is $94m. of course the majority of this is intangibles.. but a market cap of just over £10m.. with the most cash generative 2nd half of the year to come and with JB round the corner.. i think this actually is worthy of the "buy and hold" tag
...on first trade, bounce coming?
What ware's are you peddling tonight
Overdone or should I say done over! It wont be long before we get some good news (IMO) they said the teaser for Jungle Book would be out by year end so that should drum up a bit of publicity at least. Dont know much about the foreign exchange side of things but its probably more to do with tax avoidance I think...........Who knows? Anyway as you say not one to really worry about, did lots of research a while back and all looks good to me.
All the best to you to mate...............not sure what you mean by "now this" but I think this is worth holding on to as this is likely to rebound. Damn I only managed to get this in that sentence 3 times!
Sure know your stuff .
after 12 montths of feeling this share was underpriced - now this - Have sold all 12500 shares this and moving on this is just ridiculous, All the best guys, hope it bounces for you.
just added another £7k at 29.5 , massive order book, strong future
They've reached my support, if not many peoples! Results not good, but not this bad, in medium term. Maybe even bounce shortly. How is there such discrepancy with India? Got to level out between the 2 exchanges soon.
Slightly up, had a good few days!!!! B-B-Bounce?
DQ Entertainment, the AIM-listed production and distribution group, plunged after reporting a big drop in profits in the first half. Profit before tax came in at $1.79m in the six months to the end of September, down 34% from the $2.7m it reported the year before. The firm said the fall was on account of a foreign exchange loss, as well as the impact of Rupee-Dollar exchange rates. Shares dropped almost 13% on the news. Revenue in local currency - the Indian rupee - increased by 5%, however as the financials are presented in US dollars, the firm was hit by a 20% depreciation of rupee against the dollar since September 2011. This meant revenues dropped to $17.9m from $19.9m the year before. Chairman Tapaas Chakravarti said the company's production pipeline was steady. "We remain confident that the global entertainment industry has excellent long term growth prospects, while our business remains well placed for projected growth in the current year," he said.
what the doctor ordered. More of : Buy the rumour, Sell the news, me thinks. Rising into results which probably were quite predictable to anyone following exchange rates. The future for this company definitely looks secure and profitable. Gotta HOLD, averaging down would be good but no cash. It'll turn around, just a matter of time.
nice to see you are still here buddy..
just bought 2911 showing as a sell
good spot yes india is up. tho presume they will not have issues with the currency depreciation
Guys this is a good opportunity to top up. "The Jungle Book Feature Film Update: The development of a feature film is progressing well with a sizzle reel expected to be completed by end of this year. DQE has tapped an experienced team of top tier talent from the world of feature animation, including Screenwriter Billy Frolick (Madagascar, Holy Cow), Co-Directors Jun Falkenstein (The Tigger Movie, The Smurfs, Despicable Me,) and Kevin Johnson (Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone, Astro Boy, Stuart Little), and Production Designer James Hegedus (Shrek). Currently DQE is negotiating with various co-production partners for closing the production budget. Once the teaser is ready, DQE will finalise the global distributors. DQE is targeting a 2014 theatrical release for The Jungle Book." Sizzle reel...............Teaser! With all that talent on board...........Who needs teasing
a few buys have just popped up in the 32p region.. fair value is difficult to say.. its clearly not 31p.. assuming the transition in business model works. i think the market is viewing what is happening as potentially a move into much higher risk. the accounts look much weaker than before... explaining how much risk. i am speechless that they are not billing in hard currency. a devaluation in rupee ought to be good for them... ie revenue in $ and operating costs in INR. Or a more hedged position at least. Seymour pierce have a forecast for year ended March 2015 of £51m turnover, £10.4m profit and 18p EPS. that gives us a forward forward forward PE ratio of 1.75x haha. so if you believe the jungle book will be successful (and if it is, then surely those Seymour pierce numbers are light) then it's a total no brainer for buy and hold thing is as always with DQE there needs to be a catalyst for the share price to go north. and we never seem to ge tthat. even if all is on track (as it seems to be for the long game) it could stay weak for a while. having said that ... the charting position does look very strong if a catalyst can be found to move the share into an uptrend..
Whats fair value then iyo? I reckon its oversold
.
revenues have always been very seasonal for some reason and so the majority of financial performance comes in the second half of the year. am assuming their transitional business model from producer to distributor/licencer is costing money... thier cash balance has significantly reduced and their cashflow statment doesnt look good... seem to be investing in the transition. what's nice about negative currerncy moves against the dollar is that you assume they will be temporary;;
Exactly.. everything in between is fairly irrelevant. Plan is on course,
Puzzled myself., DQE-Ireland would have surely been the better billing/fx opportunity surely. Think I'll send them my accountant's number.
Wow! Someone is trying to spook people out of their stock. Those results are not bad, foreign exchange losses ...and those can swing around the other way very quickly. This is all about growing merchandising and owned IP revenue. The Jungle Book movie is absolutely key to transforming the fortunes of this company. It will be one of the most widely anticipated movies of 2014. I am holding until after it is released. Reassess then
billing all international clients in rupees? is he nuts?
