Yes Phil, checking recent RNS's you are of course correct and yet again with DKL it's 2 steps forward and 1 back.
**TAKES A BOW****
To my shame I assumed it was going to be on a Thursday like the last two but otherwise not a bad draft. I knew they were asleep at the wheel.
As for issuing shares. Grrrrr. It is confetti season at DKL.
JK just playing devils advocate, we had a pretty poor overall Q1 (12081 T) so I'm guessing Jan and Feb were pretty poor?
FK1, or should I call you "Mystic Meg" - spot on as usual with your prophesy last night!
darientaylor, if you read the RNS again, it states that March was a record month for CPO producton (6314 tonnes) and a strong April (6143 tonnes) - so it would appear that the high season was early this year. Other operators in the region are reporting the same.
I think I'm also correct in saying January was also a record month (?), but I may be getting that mixed up with last year.
On that basis, it would appear that we have entered low season earlier than normal, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing with CPO being a lot higher earlier in the year.
The price per tonne they got in May of €541 is encouraging, being only €36 lower than April. I thought it would be lower with the large drop off in Rotterdam prices. From the RNS, it looks like that lag won't hit us until June, which is in to low season anyway.
Any business anywhere in the world that is profitable at the moment can only be described as positive news.
Always a sting in the tail though, isn't there? Another 317,434 shares issued in lieu for advisers.
Indeed - Darien is getting confused between the year on year numbers and the month on month numbers.....
Darien, I think you should check your numbers.
in april's RNS they stated that the average CPO price per tonne realised was $577 up 18% on previous month of $488...mmmm
May report just out they state that the average price per tonne realised in april was $468 and now in may they have realised an average of $541 up 16.6%
which statement is a lie because they cant bot be true.
in the Q1 report they say that production and processing were down on previous year due to the season being later but now here we are right in the peqk and numbers of FFB produced in massively down still so that argument was a crock of poo. Also they realised 'they say' an average price of $664 per tonne.. well thats a hell of a lot more than the current price which they state is 18% higher than last year... I dont believe a word coming out of them now....
38% drop in FFB production and not WORD about it. this is appalling no reason why if they have spent the last 5 years planting new palm oil plants why is production dropping? the future is a contracting revenue stream from this number. next months numbers will be terrible
I think the figures are coming this Thursday. The company said March was strong as well as April but the Board have manifestly ashown themselves unable to string two good results together a bit like the England football team at times. So I expect some sort of stutter along with the usual Gok Wan window dressing and a last night at the Proms celebratory ending to the RNS with a positive view to the future. i'd lay my hat on the beginning of June starting off exceptionally strongly which will of course give the Board confidence that there will be jam -but not so much CPO- and undoubtedly some sort of cashew nut offering tomorrow. Or the day after that. Or the day after the day after that.
Should get last month's totals in a few days time, anything like the last RNS figures and we're looking pretty fair. Fingers crossed.
But yeah FK I would like to finally start seeing an uplift in annual CPO prod, let's face it we've been waiting with baited breath for years now
Fabulous Hereandnow but we have a BOD asleep at the wheel when it comes to CPO production. CPO had reached $800 after some admittedly tough years but the board were only busy churning out excuses rather than actual CPO. I sense they are currently busy on other projects rather than capitalising on any CPO upturn.
up at $610 now....fabulous
