Hello jake. Quiet weekend.. Closing thoughts, When I first joined Brigade we had old Home Office equipment hoisted upon us, probably cheap rental. Pre computers, had key and lamp units, punch hole tape telex, appliance disposition wall map, duty boards, very much like RAF wartime and this was 1965 and run to 1989. I was a Control Commander for East London.
We moved into computer age very slowly, had a state of the art giant goldfish bowl type room built to cover whole of Greater London, 20 personnel positions and a map board say 30feet wide X 20feet high, it was massive and computer run but had 110 stations to be seen by whole room, running from Heathrow to Hornchurch to Croydon and all in between.
Don't know how they can run modern systems without this visual map.
I felt for the duty crew that had the Tower Block disaster, I've had many tight situations but to control such a pressure of work would have been something to experience.
Nothing to do with CC of course.
Similar experience with the old Home Office panels, direct lines with pulse generators. Oh how times have changed lol.
Hello jake.. well the Chinese recon 88 but I feel that is a bit too long to wait.
Your 3am comment threw me back to when had a problem during a major incident, with all frames failing and reserve. The IT came down from upstairs looking shattered and they hadn't started yet, split system into working parts so we could see where all our fire appliances were throughout the 600 sq miles of London.
The rest was paper and chalk with 100+ 999 lines to clear. Parts were not so easy to interface but they sorted in half hour.
There is a lot to be said for having IT 24 hours and they knew the system inside out..
Don't need to DYOR on this one. Weekend chat.
Afternoon Tony . Been there done that, nothing like a 3 am call with someone in a panic on the phone! Lol.
Pain in the ar5e at the time but once retired I kind of missed the buzz for a while.
Got to say though it didn't last long, although with being locked in for the last 13 months or so with no holidays and little to do but decorate, clean the garage out etc etc I sometimes envy those at work!
At 77 you never know this year may be you lucky number with CC.
Sadly, all those repeat orders are slowing to levels not seen for years. That is the simple fact, the uptake is nowhere near where the company, or potential investors, need it to be. It will be March on Monday.... 1/3rd of the 6 month window gone.
Morning jake & Colour. Notice that I have separated you.
jake I too retired at an early age (53), my studying the runners and riders (stocks) was mainly done at night and it paid off, I come to life when a problem occurs and at 77 still no effort, the adrenaline flows when confronted with an emergency at 3 in the morning, there is nothing to beat it.
Colour, dont worry about DCU's, the system works well enough as it is otherwise why all the repeat orders.
You know India works at a crawl but the orders are waiting. Could be a very good year.
Thailand could be another gate opening wide.
I think it best to let somebody else have a Chat.
DYOR
Given this BB is sometimes busy with old and new contributors, I think the recent revelation has stunned most to silence. Next week will see the 6 month anniversary since the last order placed. Without knowing it, I think this week may have given us the reason why. I keep hearing the heavy lift on R&D is done, the reality is far from it.
I don't understand how any new product could go anywhere near launch with such a basic fault. I won't be asking the company tonlie, I have heard more than I need over the years, and this confirms it all.
HiTony it is possible to walk and talk. I hate to think how long I have been investing , like you as a hobby .Suffice to say you have to put the hours in but it enabled me to retire very early from the ratrace!
Think design, procurement and project management around data centres and blue chip physical security. That should give you some sort of clue.
Well jake I thought you were in Shares not electronics, what was your position. I have stated my position in the past, and shares was my pastime. Have liaised with Marconi on operational requirements and amendments in the past.
Most of CC's gear has shrunk over time as all electronics, my read only meter at home is smaller than a mobile phone as eventually all will probably be no doubt.
CC is obviously trying to create an in-meter Gateway as it was originally the desired of Indian Gov for basic comms to be inmeter. Although probably not necessary, CC appears to be attempting to get the DCU inside also, which they have achieved with Cellular. It's apparent by RNS that the Software is capable just a matter of finding space in that already overcrowded meter case. Just a matter of time as all meters are different shapes and sizes.
DYOR
To be fair tonlie, this content is the only worthwhile contribution you have made over many years here. I can't believe the information is right, but then you have said it has come from JC himself, so it must be accurate.
The operational highlight was ' Launch of new Omnimesh Cellular products including Dual SIM Cellular Network Interface Card and In Meter Gateway for improved security and increased capacity ' ( that doesn't fit inside the box ). One of you must have this wrong. I am hoping it is you, but we will likely never find out.
And,...........still wont answer the question. Actually Tony yes I am ir was in technology and electronics for 40 years so have seen some changes. Incidentally i made sure something fitted in the space allotted ,whatever the piece if kit.
You absolutely must have been a cuvil servant in some guise, of that iam now convinced. Teacher, local government, local services?
But the Gateway doesn't fit inside the meter, that's what CC have told you. Even you can see the issue surely.
Well jake I knew your head would pop up, I am not in electronics and only ask CC questions when stuck and mainly relating to SP. I take it neither are you. However Colour says he is an electronics man so should be asking more serious questions like how does it work, from JC or CC.
The existing Canopy System with CC RF embedded (modular) in the 3 major India manufacturers meters and separate DCU's seems to work well with reorders coming in. CC has developed a Gateway (DCU) to work within a meter and it is a matter of accommodation. This I ascertained when asking CC at Colour's request. Like everybody else I noted that CC had got the in-meter capability upon reading the RNS.
Nothing more simple than that, DYOR.
Tony. Apologies responded before seeing your latest post. So to be clear you are now saying Colour suggested the issue with the size of the product?
"Are you saying that CC Comms box is getting bigger, I certainly did not, you will need proof, dodgy." Could you clarify your 0802 post?
Tony . Do you know how ridiculous you sound? "its a matter of will it fit current meters, so its more size ". Are you seriously expecting anyone to believe the designer would not have considered the space the product needed to fit into? If true you would need to ask what sort of person the company is employing. As you seem so well versed with and so close to the company ask this simple question or provide the answer yourself. What is the size of the unit and what is the availble space in the meters?
I dont need any BS or waffle added from you to cloud the issue, just the answer. Feel free to criticise, belive I'm Colour that doesnt bother me. All I want is your answer to the question no more no less. I dont feel your capable. Lets wait and see.
Morning Colour, I think we should leave it there, boring the pants off everybody. You are talking absolute rubbish. The existing DCU's work fine and sales are going ahead at a fast rate see Graph, existing orders are being reordered.
Are you saying that CC Comms box is getting bigger, I certainly did not, you will need proof, dodgy.
All orders seem to be flowing very well and CC got a BONUS offer for early completion of a contract. Speaks VOLUMES.
You should speak to JC if you dare instead of desperately trying to put investors off buying in. You need to seek hate therapy or stay out of the sun where you are.
From my knowledge CC has never had it so good.
DYOR
So, it does at least explain why the order run rate is at historically low levels. Meters are getting smaller, CC Comms box gets bigger. I have been trying to work out why, after all the proven studies, the orders simply refuse to come in. If the tech is available, India will want it and won't be paying more for it. The Gateway might work, it just don't fit in the box it needs to, genius.
Well Colour it is good that you acknowledge the existence of the Gateway.
Published in an RNS it must work, so the next hurdle is its accommodation in meter.
Any add on has to be inside the meter as with CC RF modules so it is just a matter
space, most of CC's modules have been reduced in size as we have seen on presentations.
Right, to your stirring, we are talking about DCU's not ANYTHING, CC RF production as we have
seen on graph is doing well. Unless you know otherwise the current DCU's are playing their part
in the Canopy System and in time will be incorporated in meter I presume. Are you saying they will
not. Don't forget your past history of saying CC RF is not wanted in India, LOL.
Do get in touch with JC he will bring you right up to date and do let me know what he says.
I await an interjection from jake as you can't both type at the same time.
DYOR
So, the reason they can't sell anything is because the unit is currently too big?
Exactly Colour.. The module exists, its a matter of will it fit current meters, so its more size not reconfiguration, so it exists currently and I recon will soon be accommodated.
Most of CC's modules have been greatly reduced in size so no doubt they will miniaturise this particular item.
Dont forget to get a few CC's in your pocket I think you have DYOR'd. LOL
tonlie ...' The module exists as is referred to in RNS, it is a matter of meter manufacturers wanting to adopt it probably when they next upgrade meters.'
Do you have any idea what you are saying here? There are still things up Poles, you being one of them.
DCU's were upgraded to accommodate some 200+ connections not long ago. What does 'Meter upgrade' mean? IF any of this has come from CC, you have been royaly fobbed.
Lie you saying sorry for misleading about your manufacturing comment lol . If you keep telling yourself ever8 you say is true eventually you believe your own hype Lol . WAW.
Colour, it does exist.. You paid for it. Just say sorry I got that one wrong and did not read the RNS. I think JC also mentioned it one of his interviews saying they would no longer need to be on the top of poles.
It will be interesting to see if JC can fit the graphs on the page and of course if he wants to. I think these numbers will be a guiding light and new investors will be impressed. India is most important to us but if Thailand gets underway with surrounding countries those numbers could quickly double.
Have a chat with JC he may be able to create a dramatic conversion of you before we sail ahead.
Allowing for any of the usual India delays I think we should be getting volume sales pretty soon.
DYOR
It doesn't exist tonlie . It will only exist IF ordered and used, and guess what.
What did he say about your graph idea? He doesn't like graphs, as we know. It would take about 15 minutes to add to the landing page, think it will appear anytime soon?
Don't rubbish it Colour, only last week you were saying it did not exist. Now that is a fact.
I dare you to ring JC and accuse him of telling lies.
Then roll over and let him tickle your tummy, LOL.
Keep up with what is going on.
I asked him to consider putting Heather's India Deliveries graph on home page of CC site.
May be updated bi-monthly to let all know CC's India progress.
Very important for new viewers.
Everybody DYOR and lets wait and see what next couple of months produce.
