The same reason, we dropped to under 3p last time Uk Coal was in the press about going into administration and we didn't have any part of them then!!!

Harworth estates is not part of the mining company ukcoal. Cres owns 1/4 of harworth. Nothing to do with ukcoal ********************************************************************* UK Coal Mining holdings was formed to enable the few remaining mines and surface mines to operate, if one went under due to technical/ viability, it would not bring the others down. UK Coal Mining holdings is NOTHING to do with HARWORTH ESTATES they were restructured/ seperated. ********************************************************************************** COALFIELD RESOURCES, is a PLC ( CRES ) that owns 25% of the former MINING lands that was developed into the company HARWORTH ESTATES. now operating many businesses from ADAVANCED manufacuring plants, WInd farms, Bio mass, housing etc..........
Harworth estates is not part of the mining company ukcoal. Cres owns 1/4 of harworth. Nothing to do with ukcoal The plc 'shell' of ukcoal could be percieved as having morphed into cres.
Why sould it Harworth cres own the land the mines are on.If they have to close Harworth cres can redevelop the land as they have other mines. That have become uneconomical BT
Ken, We will find out next week whether all this press about UK Coal has had a negative effect on CRES. UK Coal has received a secret approach from Zamadini, a little-known resourses investor whose founder is linked to one of India's richest mining moguls.
ha no wonder its still at 6 flaming b loody pence
Cheers BT as I said I wont be daily posting on here However will help anyone with questions..... ************************************************ I wonder how many people think PEEL want to buy CRES/ HARWORTH.... as the TAKEOVER PANEL says AN RNS denial must then be issued
Ken you are spot on with your last post. Its all I.M.O about how peel can get there hands on Harworth and cres with out having to over pay .As for the valuation i think someoe maybe was having joke.I also think peel will be making a move for cres soon BT
Links Harworth Estates ( Land and property) http://harworthestates.co.uk/ Coalfield Resources ( CRES), we own 25% of above.. http://www.coalfieldresources.com/ UK Coal Mining operations only ( Nothing to do with Coalfield, or Harworth , they just mine coal) http://www.ukcoal.com/ And just to really confuse you PEEL HOLDINGS OWN 1/3 of COALFIELD RESOURCES Coalfield Resources major shareholders are as follows: Number of shares % issued capital GOODWEATHER HOLDINGS LTD* 196,468,940 32.82 & To really confuse you PEE & HARWORTH have collaorated onn many Energy projects & Now road raid & warehousing n November 2008, Coalfield Resources, formerly known as UK COAL, and Peel Energy signed an agreement to develop wind farms across Coalfield Resources' extensive land portfolio. Under the agreement, Peel Energy's wind farm development team will lead a programme of phased development through to planning permission. Individual joint ventures between Peel Energy and Coalfield Resources will then construct and operate the wind farms. http://peellogistics.co.uk/ & to even more confuse you HARWORTH & PEEL STAFF have mixed/ crossed http://harworthestates.co.uk/about-us/the-team/ ********************************************************************************** So its a MOnster mIX up MAsh no wonder 1/3 discount on a rubbishy valuation its worth a small fortune to someone????
UK COAL is just the mining operation of BRITISH COAL COALFIELD RESOURCES owns 25% of HARWORTH ESTATES HARWORTH ESTATES are the owners of all the 'BRITISH COAL' former mining lands, potential mining lands ie open cast, railways siding etc, which has been developed or in process ofr developing into housing estates, wind farms, road to rail infrastructure, advanced technology parks you name it etc etc IMO HARWORTH are being held back in there valuation as its worth easy £400 mill Even so at the valutation 2013 the asset value of our 25% holding of HARWORTH is discounted by 1/3, so its money in the bank at 6 pence. 'UKCOAL' is nothing to do with COALFIELD RESOURCES in regards to this stock anymore
All just carrying out some research but abroad currently so limited access to files. Am I correct in thinking that CRES is the parent company of Uk Coal?

es ist mir, dass ist ein Contrarian Lager Halter ********************************************************************************************************************** worlds full of funny people...... n finance, a contrarian is one who attempts to profit by investing in a manner that differs from the conventional wisdom, when the consensus opinion appears to be wrong. A contrarian believes that certain crowd behavior among investors can lead to exploitable mispricings in securities markets. For example, widespread pessimism about a stock can drive a price so low that it overstates the company's risks, and understates its prospects for returning to profitability. Identifying and purchasing such distressed stocks, and selling them after the company recovers, can lead to above-average gains. Conversely, widespread optimism can result in unjustifiably high valuations that will eventually lead to drops, when those high expectations don't pan out. Avoiding (or short-selling) investments in over-hyped investments reduces the risk of such drops. These general principles can apply whether the investment in question is an individual stock, an industry sector, or an entire market or any other asset class. Some contrarians have a permanent bear market view, while the majority of investors bet on the market going up. However, a contrarian does not necessarily have a negative view of the overall stock market, nor does he have to believe that it is always overvalued, or that the conventional wisdom is always wrong. Rather, a contrarian seeks opportunities to buy or sell specific investments when the majority of investors appear to be doing the opposite, to the point where that investment has become mispriced. While more "buy" candidates are likely to be identified during market declines (and vice versa), these opportunities can occur during periods when the overall market is generally rising or falling.
If you remember I did warn you about investing with this, in my opinion of course, company of crooks and charlatans !!!
**************not my post************* so excludes my no posting rule :-D **************************************** TOLD you PEEL/HARWORTH , FRACKING LANDLORDS ******************************************************************* News cut, via BBCToday 08:32Some papers, such as the Independent, report the planned closure of two of Britain's last deep coal mines, after owner UK Coal announced a "managed rundown" of Kellingley in Yorkshire and Thoresby in Nottingham. However, the Sun reports brighter prospects for at least one ex-miner. Gerwyn Williams has bought the 65-acre derelict site of St John's Colliery, at Maesteg near Bridgend, and wants to frack shale gas from the pit where "four generations of his family toiled 1,000ft underground". Branding him the Prince of Shales, the Sun speaks to locals to find them hopeful that Mr Williams' plan can bring jobs to the area - provided it's safe.
That's what they want, hope the PI's get fed up and sell out, then one day BANG!!! true value will be realised ;-) Enjoy your hol's if you go further south, pop in and say hello!!

Perhaps a little publicity might make a difference, clearly the directors have to work in the interest of all shareholders large or small !!
One telling number from the results - they made 8.3 million profit on sales of 19 million, a profit of 78% on the balance sheet value. Would rather indicate that the balance sheet is (very) conservatively valued. Given the share price is already at a 30% discount to book value and the potential to add yet further value through development would certainly see upside from here.
To be honest unless an offer comes in from Peel then I cant see how Mr Cox will get the share price to rise until the next valuation !!! I May consider selling up if an RNS is not forthcoming can always buy back in later !!
no Director buys yet.....??? well the valuation was pretty tame..... so whats the plan they have....?? Keep SP low ready for offer from Peel?? Answers on a postcard ******************************************************* GIVE US A SHOUT OUT IF YOU HAVE READ THIS POST and ANSWER?????????? LSE DAILY synopsis Settlement as of 28/03/2014 Definitely a good session for Coalfield Resources as it ends +2% higher.
