The fact is Hobbs is a spin off, not a actual fast film, & you actually just said it yourself if it wasn’t on Disney, but it was. If it wasn’t on Disney, it still wouldn’t of smashed records, as the 60 million it took on Disney was across the world. In 2017 ghostbusters was a box office bomb, but still managed to take 135 million at the us box office, & don’t forget inflation 4 years on
LHall, you don't need to prove yourself again and again that you have a damaged brain. Everyone can see it. We thought giving your brain rest for few days like this week could have helped but clearly it did not. Try disappearing forever as you are not invested in CINE.
Cruis1, you conveniently forgotten that F9 opening weekend collection ($70M) is more than Fast&Furious Hobbs and Shaw released in 2019, pre pandemic opening collection was $60M, which is less than F9 released in pandemic!
BW could have smashed pre-pandemic records had Disney not released on streaming.
i expected this price today but i never expected a high of 71p this week so u can keep deramping cruis
Interesting, price goes down today and smalltrader comes out with more of his deramping. Making himself look stupid and pretending to be a long term holder so that nobody in their right mind would buy into a stock he's into.
"let us know why you think attendance is miles away from pre-covid levels".
In the same post stating 2021 boxoffice $400m 2019 $1149m. It's crystal clear that attendance at cinema is down.
Can't see any Endgame's in here, but still lots of meat on the bone the rest of this year and next year:
https://www.cineworld.co.uk/static/en/uk/blog/new-movie-release-dates-everything-you-need-to-know
Got in here around £1, then topped up around 80p thinking this would pay out in a year to 18 months. Still looking good inspite of current SP.
Apart from godszilla not one blockbuster film has over performed at the us box office, they have come in all under on pre box office target. This is the reason why cineworld always fall on a Monday, apart from when godszilla figures came out, i believe it climbed around 7-8% that Monday.
It is the number of movies that are not there compared to 2019. If you have similar number of movies released as in 2019 then the box office revenue would be similar to 2019 levels. It is not the attendance the reason for the lower box office revenues.
Oh & if we are back 2019 levels , why are we still in the 60s, & don’t talk rubbish about shorts & manipulation
Total global box office 2019 42.5 billion

I’m not going by my local cinema, I’m going by box office numbers, yes a quite place 2 did very well f9 under achieved, black. Widow came in under. It’s not Just about the box office no1 film anyway it’s the top ten films weekly are struggling to make 1 million, over the weekend. if cinemas were so busy, cineworld wouldn’t be doing 50% capacity in the uk. Like I said thou, it is getting stronger, but may never get back to the Highs. Anyway I’m off to see old tomorrow morning, or the purge, not sure yet
perhaps you are the one in the dreamworld thinking cinema attendance is not back to pre covid level?
Just today morning I mentioned about the box office numbers yet you want to ignore it and come up with a rubbish headline.
learn to do some analysis on the box office numbers before posting rubbish.
Repeating again for your sake so that you will remember and doesn't come back with such rubbish posts ever again -
Year Cumulative Gross Number of releases
2021 $399,282,324 80
2020 $3,677,627 22
2019 $1,149,119,141 193
So you can see that for half the number of releases compared to 2019, gross amount is almost comparable to 2019.
So just for comparison if you take 90 releases in 2019, which is half the actual number then gross would be $550M and we have $399M for similar number now in June 2021
Let us know why you think that attendance is miles away from pre covid levels? Is it that your local cinema has few people and that made you to conclude that whole of US and UK is like that? Go and see every cinema in every corner of the world and then come back and tell us if the attendance is like in your local cinema.
Anyone who thinks, cinema attendance is back to pre Covid level, Is in a complete dream world. Yes it’s getting Better, but miles away, from where it should be.
