Print 11/01/2011 | 07:35 pm Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited : CFCL signs MoU with global electronics manufacturer Nov 2011 Wednesday 2 November 2011 Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited signs Manufacturing Services MoU with global electronics manufacturer Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited (AIM / ASX: CFU) a leading developer of high efficiency and low emission power products for homes and other buildings, has signed a Manufacturing Services Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jabil Circuit Inc (NYSE: JBL). Under the MoU, CFCL and Jabil will work together towards scaling up the manufacturing of CFCL's Gennex fuel cell module and award winning BlueGen electricity generation product. Jabil is a global Electronic Manufacturing Service provider with 55 factories in 22 countries and annual revenue of USD 16 billion. Jabil's global cleantech business unit makes a range of energy products including solar panels, smartgrid meters and wind turbines. CFCL and Jabil will work together to increase CFCL's manufacturing volumes and reduce unit costs quickly, whilst maintaining consistent quality and security of supply. Jabil's manufacturing services to CFCL are expected to grow over time to match CFCL's increasing sales volumes. The details of the particular services in each phase will be set out in a formal supply agreement to be signed at the time. The first phase of co-operation is for CFCL to source selected components from Jabil's manufacturing operations. This phase is expected to begin in early 2012. The second phase is for CFCL to source major sub-assemblies from Jabil. The final phase is for Jabil to assemble finished products as a contract manufacturer for CFCL. CFCL has built and is operating a volume manufacturing plant in Germany, where CFCL makes fuel cell stacks and assembles complete Gennex fuel cell modules and BlueGen products. This co-operation with Jabil complements CFCL's initial manufacturing capacity. CFCL will retain control of fuel cell stack manufacturing and all related intellectual property into the future, whilst progressively outsourcing the manufacturing and supply of components, sub-assemblies and ultimately the mass manufactured BlueGen product. Working with Jabil will allow CFCL to benefit from Jabil's expertise and scale in contract manufacturing and global supply chain management, in order to further increase CFCL's volumes and rapidly drive down unit costs. Brendan Dow, Managing Director of Ceramic Fuel Cells, said: "Over the past year our order book has grown from 50 units to 500 units and we need to plan ahead for much larger volumes in the coming years. Working with an expert contract manufacturer will help us to increase our volumes and reduce our unit costs much faster than trying to do it all ourselves." Changes to the input tariff structure have seen the collapse of many large green energy projects. However, the changes are likely to boost the demand for small projects in the domestic and SME markets. This should provide good opportunities for both CFU and PUR.
just good news on good news, It's finally coming together. Glad I bought so many as they dipped but have to say I got really worried at one stage.
BlueGEN® receives product certification from the Australian Gas Association Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited (AIM / ASX: CFU) a leading developer of high efficiency and low emission power products for homes and other buildings, is pleased to announce that the Company's BlueGen gas to electricity generator has been certified by the Australian Gas Association (AGA) for installation as a gas appliance in Australia. After rigorous testing and evaluation for compliance, AGA has certified the BlueGen to a new safety standard for fuel cell appliances. BlueGen is the first product to comply with this new standard in Australia. BlueGen is now certified as a "Type A" gas appliance, which allows BlueGen units to be installed by a licensed and trained plumber / gasfitter as for any other typical gas appliance in Australia. BlueGen has also been certified for both indoor and outdoor installations. Previously the installation of BlueGen was restricted as a "Type B" appliance, meaning that the respective State Technical Regulator was required to inspect and approve each installation. Over the past few months the Company has been working very closely with AGA. This work included the AGA liaising with the Australian Regulatory Authorities, extensively assessing the design of the BlueGen to relevant standards and conducting independent tests on a BlueGen unit at the AGA testing facilities. AGA is an independent body which provides accredited product certification and testing services for the gas, electrical and plumbing industries in Australia. AGA product certification is based upon an independent technical assessment of a sample product against relevant safety standards (type-testing) and compliance with any other regulatory requirements. BlueGen has also received full CE safety approval for installation in homes and other buildings in Europe. The Company is also working towards receiving BlueGen safety approval for North America by the end of the year. BlueGen uses patented ceramic fuel cell technology to turn natural gas into electricity and heat for hot water, with the highest electrical efficiency of any small scale generating technology in the world. In Australia BlueGen units are installed in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra and Brisbane. BlueGen units are available to commercial customers through distributors Harvey Norman Commercial division and Hills Industries.
Ceramic Fuel Cells (CFU) has received an initial order for 100 BlueGen units, the largest so far, from Sanevo Lizenz-GmbH, who will market, sell and install the product in Germany and Austria. The low-emission electricity provider aims to sell a further 500 units in 2012 and 2,000 units over the two years after. Separately, the group has appointed two new non-executive directors, Roman Dudenhausen and Janine Hoey, who it believes will add financial and operational expertise to the company.
just in from CFU - shares up to 12p in Aussie. http://www.brr.com.au/event/82502
Yes 10p will provide some technical and psych resistance imo, great to see some heavy volumes going through though. I would very much think those larger trades were buys as you can often buy on the mid price with this stock.
Will we see 10P+ today, or will it be tomorrow?
Buys, but ADVFN are showing them as Buys. 11.00 & 11.04, 3,000,000 & 1,250,000. There was some Big Buys yesterday too, if these are all Buys then it will be well worth staying in CFU, i will get more once i get paid.
Good to see some more promising news, glad they have tightened the spread a bit as well
