Tibbs you are correct. Borrow 100k from any bank and they don't actually have the money they send you, they create it out of nothing. Literally type numbers in a computer and send it to you. 80% of money is created in this way. This is why we are living in an inflationary environment. Readers of this post may not believe me. Fair enough it's counter-intuitive. But perhaps you'll believe the Bank of England?

Correct Mr Gnome!
The big banks create money on a screen out of nothing and then they lend it on high interest to third world countries likely to buy arms and luxuries for those countries rulers!
The usual Monday morning POG fix!
Giant investment companies are taking over the financial system. OH WELL NOTHING NEW HERE !!!!
Top firms now control sums rivaling the economies of many large countries, AND WHO WORRIES ABOUT THE DEVELOPING COUNTRIES... UNTIL THERE IS A REVOLUTION...OR SOMETHING LIKE THIS..AND THEN WE CAN SELL NEWS PAPERS ETC LOL. They are pushing into new business areas, blurring the lines that define who does what on Wall Street (I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY MARGINALLY SHORT OF A FREE FOR ALL !!??) and nudging once-dominant banks toward the sidelines.
Today, traditional and alternative asset managers control twice as many assets as U.S. banks, giving them increasing control over the purse strings of the U.S. economy. .. AND THE MINDS OF THE POLITICIANS WHO SERVE THE SYSTEM ... NOTHING STRONG HERE OF COURSE ... EXCEPT WE MUST TALK ABOUT DONALD ...
The firms—such as Blackstone, Franklin Templeton, BlackRock are becoming more complex and more similar to one another all at once. Investors say this creates risks that markets have never encountered before. AND OF COURSE THE Y ARE ALL USING SOPHISTICATED AI, LOL...AND THEY USE THE SAME ALGORITHMS AND ON THE SHOW GOES...LOL
GOLD is such a simple soul ....

Yes thank you for the link, very interesting and optimistic, of course they are gold salesman and bulls, what we need to see is non goldies converted. And Tibbs timing is all as we can all be right years wrong, the question is whether they were just 4 years early in 2020 or more. Is this the real bull market or will that be later.
Looks like it's risk on this morning in the markets
Usual junk getting a bid. Commodities down.
A retreat in gold and silver is necessary. Very rarely do things go up in straight lines and go slightly parabolic. The rally has created future confidence in gold and silver and that will likely play through later in 2024. New highs are in place to broken at some future date.
Most major stock indexes in Europe traded higher in the premarket on Monday as investors braced for a busy week of economic data releases. On the agenda, today, are the euro area consumer confidence and the Deutsche Bundesbank (Buba) monthly report.
Germany's DAX gained 0.09%, and the British FTSE 100 was up 1.05% at the same time. The Euro Stoxx 50 added 0.16%. The CAC 40 was flat. The euro was up 0.08% against the dollar at 8:17 am CET, selling for 1.06652. The pound traded 0.10% above the greenback and went for 1.23833 concurrently.

Happy Monday y’al
Gold currently $2365.04
Maybe - just not today... Copper may do well today. Gold needs a bit of fear in the air.
The Fed’s historic and unlimited stimulus to do ‘whatever it takes’ to replace collapsing aggregate demand will unleash the Great Commodity Bull Market of the 2020’s led by gold….and send gold over US$3,000 per ounce before the end of 2021.”
Only 4 years too early. Hopefully wiser.
So, in April 2024, is gold the “real thing?

Hi 9Billion,
Thank you for posting this info, also very interesting s the resurgence of Tin mining in Cornwall ahich was halted in the 1990's due to the world market price collapse, not a shortage of high grade tin!

Thanks 9billion, Thats an interesting group of people, with some very long experiences and good observations on the monetary system and markets. There are some strange things happening, but when you put them into perspective and understand how the "system": works, its not so strange. I think gold is looking very good, silver as well...and I think gold should cruise past $3,000 .but then again I am biased?
Take your positions ladies and gentlemen, seatbelts on ...

You do yourself a disservice Paul- I wouldn’t say luck.
When I sold as posted here to be out before the RNS, based of “known info” and I rarely stay in before scheduled RNS, I posted my buy back in on the 123’s and my rationale for doing so.
These sort of strategies don’t work every time of course, but based on probability, works more than it doesn’t and pushing the odds of profit higher.
Play the markets as they work, not how you want them the work :-).
So what is your opinion of that ,not surprising news ?
Late on Saturday 16 March 2024, Niger’s military junta announced that it has ended an accord with the US that allowed military personnel and civilian staff from the US Department of Defense to operate in Niger. This announcement came days after Niger held high-level talks with US diplomatic and military officials last week.

The US risks losing its military presence in another African country as the government of Chad sent a letter threatening to end a critical security agreement, according to four US sources, a move that threatens to cede more US influence in the region to Russia.

The US built a military base in Niger to combat armed groups that pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda and ISIL (ISIS) in the Sahel region, which also includes Burkina Faso and Mali.
The United States will withdraw its soldiers from Niger as the West African nation is increasingly turning to Russia and away from Western powers.
The US Department of State agreed to pull out about 1,000 troops from the country that has been under military rule since July 2023, US media reported late on Friday.

Pure luck. I wish I had the nuts and the money to do it with more-----That would have been a nice pick up. It made up for selling some here twice and having to buy back in 3 or 4p higher. With the amounts I've traded, I probably need a near 2p change here or (because of the tax) a near 8p change on the post office shares, to make more on the deal than Hargreaves Lansdown. I'm still down overall on the post office but managed to reduce my average a bit. It hurts when you don't get a dividend or only a low one like here. I know you can sell shares if the price goes up, but a nice (genuine and not like happened with the previous lot in charge at Centamin) dividend helps most of us along.
I really am hoping that gold stays near these levels and Centamin reach targets and then we start getting a nice dividend,
The relationship between Iran and Niger will be one to watch .... in terms of Uranium sourcing. The US were kicked out of Niger in last few days ...
good luck to us all

We just get better at managing this in-built trait, and the consequences of this.
Humans will be humans, it was ever thus.
The desire for some to force their own opinions on others for self gain, via religion, power, greed or pleasure, the ultimate competitor- it will NEVER change.
The US television premiere of Peter Watkins' film "The
War Game," a graphic portrayal of what would happen in the event
of a nuclear attack on Great Britain. The movie was so powerful
and realistic that the BBC banned it from TV despite the fact
that the film had been commissioned by the BBC and had won an
Academy Award in l966 for best documentary. Although it has been
shown in a few movie theatres in the US, it has not been
presented on TV. "The War Game" is shocking, but is not
sensationalized. It was carefully researched and based on actual
events which occurred in World War II during and after the mass
Allied raids on Germany and the atomic bombings of Japan.

Rather sobering, even depressing but all too often what are perceived as local conflicts in other parts of the world can lead to war on a much larger scale!
Some Local government officer were obligated to attend numerous government trainng courses on how central government imagined that local government would administer and run the areas of the UK that might have survived a nuclear strike.
Basically local government of surviving areas would be controlled and administered on order of seniority of surviving local government officers from blast proof bunkers, ours still remains now mothballed under a huge water company storage facility.
I thought these old public information films may be of interest to some, they were issued at a time when the UK/ USA governments were trying to downplay the effects of a nuclear strike.
Although made decades ago these films should be watched by every politician/leader the world over to demonstrate the stupidity of war and that once the nuclear button is pushed our the world and all living inhabitants are finished irrelevant of how much wealth and power they thought they had accumulated.

This black and white training film, made for the United Kingdom’s Civil Defence and Fire Service in 1956, provides a straight forward and unflinching look at the possible effects a hydrogen bomb would have on a major city in that country. Using World War II era footage of rescue work in the aftermath of German air attacks, animations, scale models, and sombre narration,
