Been away on holiday last week and looks like I've missed a lot of positive news. Looking forward to the retail presentation in 3 minutes. Would be good to get a detailed discussion going on this forum once the presentation is complete!
Looking at BATM LinkedIn the room looks fairly packed at the Gherkin. Have you downloaded the slides? Impressive stuff
No, the presentation yesterday, as per the RNS yesterday
The retail event is tonight parsnip at 6pm I'm booked in. Is that what you mean?
That went well. Maybe no one turned up.
>Mary...... it's most definitely getting attention. AI is a set of data hungry algorithms, reducing latency is essential. You need a decent broad band connection then re define where the processing happens, triage effect. Many applications like virtual try ons suddenly impress. Market is obsessed with AI so I agree they should highlight Edgility is an essential especially with the cyber bundling at the core.
Great impact on SP from the capital markets day, obviously some great news which i think has sparked some serious interest.
Nice to see 4-5% uplift
They should try and work the AI angle in somehow to really light a fire :)
Parsnip, this seems to be the trend recently due to various factors discussed a few weeks ago. As you mention the awareness is there and we know that edgility is clearly seen as cutting edge due to its 911 implications. One would expect the share price to reflect this however we can still take many positives from this news.
Hopefully this will create additional interest, especially on the back of yesterday's news.
You have to admit that was a pretty disappointing day. The RNS did nothing. I am still nearly 70% down. There is no rise, slow and steady nope.
Maybe he's bought back in?
Am also surprised that Nutmeg had something positive to say.
Agreed this is fantastic news for BATM. This opens up another huge area for which BATM can blossom. This major state using BATMs product for 911 emergency services just shows how reliable and cutting edge edgility really is. Big things coming ahead and i would love to hear what the nay-sayers have to say about such positive news
I wonder what company has given the contract to BATM.
'A leading provider of emergency connectivity services in North America (the "Customer") for its Edgility platform for edge computing. '
If they have multiple contracts across America this could go very well, also if they are a “big name’, its a massive endorsement for Edgility.
Personally i think once American investors get this news ( and if the contract is substantive), things could perk up.
The USA at the moment is ripe for this kind of adoption. They want home grown solutions and Telco systems (Edgility) is an American company. Lot more to play for here.
Still waiting!
This being a contract in a 'major US State' assuming the opportunities are to roll out in the other 49 states and of course internationally. Emergency services contracts are awarded very much on proof of concept. Getting the first contract through the door is the very heavy lift. More will follow.
Edgility's contract win here plays into a number of its strengths:
1. Security - Cybersafety is a huge priority for the 911 system
2. Speed - 213m calls a year, where speed can be of essence to the outcome (the whole basis for 911 being formed was speed of response)
3. There's no "central" 911 system, each state, and often each county has its own set up. This means investment in expensive central servers and call processing is limited. NB: There is a central academy based in Utah.
4. There's a recognition of the problem and a lot of work going on to achieve "Next Generation 911"

So, to have a contract win in 1 state, is the start of a journey where BVC is pushing on an open door, with a technology suited to the situation, where replacing the existing system with some central cloud platform is simply not going to happen so adapting existing call systems with the advantages of edge computing makes a whole lot of sense.
Many international systems (unsurprisingly) follow the US academy for emergency response. Including the UK. So the opportunity to grow this is not just limited to 50 states and 3,143 counties in the USA.
This foothold is a great win for BVC in my opinion.

Wait for the publicity to ramp up from the likes of IC. It's time to get in quick before this takes off.
All we need is some trades!
I think this is good news too - pity the RNS doesn't state how much the contract is worth though.
5 year contract
