"Toff. EE has around 550 stores in the UK that equates to around 11 per county so 1 in every large town plus several in places like London, hardly a massive foot print compared to say, WH Smith Greg’s, McDonelds, KFC, New Look, Starbucks etc."
NDNIC you should filter Toff, as i have. All he does is have a go and posts nothing substantive. He obviously dislikes BT and has no interest in Investing here. His arguments are weak and he doesn't back up his posts with any analysis, or links. Waste of time replying to him in my opinion.

You are missing the point, you can’t go to the above, they are unable to sell you Andy thing from there shops, some can sell things to you via the internet, just as you and I are using it to put comments on this board, we can message our friends, video call them, watch TV, listen to the Radio, download an Ebook to read, get information on what is happening around the world. Without BT you and I can do none of this, extra revenue is coming in through upgrades and new services, over and above what has been expected in Q4.
Just of some of the reasons to back what Fleccy is suggesting...
What will the Cash flow be over the next 6 month or so ?.Its great that BT can still provide its services and theres good demand but punters still have to pay the bills and plenty of them big and small are going to struggle to do that if they arnt working themselves . Sure they wont go out of business any time soon but am invested but still expect a little more pain before we see steady recovery

‘Bricks and Mortar retailers for example have been decimated as their customers have dried up overnight.’
Does that include EE?
They’re bricks n’ mortar aren’t they?
Currently shut down

“I've never understood what you mean by this statement you keep putting out Fleccy.“
Nor have I!
There’s comes a stage when you really have to question Fleecy’s motives. Okay we know he’s not the sharpest knife in the kitchen - but it’s all too apparent that the more BT gets hammered - the harder it falls - the more jubilant his posts.
His posts remind me of tales of old smugglers who used to lure ships onto the rocks with lanterns. They’re ludicrous in the extreme. The thing to remember on these boards - is that anyone can come on and claim anything - but Fleecy’s posts are right up there when one considers fake posts.
I mean...
How can anyone be perpetually ecstatic who’s lost tens of thousands of pounds. Not a real investor that’s for sure. His posts certainly wouldn’t influence me, but for those simple of mind. the power of suggestion could prove lethal.
Toff - rooting out fakes and phonies.
lamtree "BT and Telecoms in general is better placed than most other sectors....I've never understood what you mean by this statement"
Bricks and Mortar retailers for example have been decimated as their customers have dried up overnight. On the other hand , BTs customers are increasing their demand for BTs services.
I can testify to that directly. I upgraded my line when I was forced to work from home, and so have colleagues.
It's surely not that hard to understand., lamtree
Where's the figures published zebbo? Or did you pull that from out of your backside? The last crash in 08 proved that BT is resilient in times of crisis and pretty much recession proof. As many companies laid off employees, BT took on 3,000 engineers many ex service personnel and went ahead with the FTTC upgrade that has now put OR as the wholesale broadband supplier to all the other SPs bar Virgin and made all their LLU equipment redundant in exchanges. Now BT/OR will push ahead with their plans for full fibre despite what is going on. If anything the lockdown is a great opportunity to get the build done in some of the hardest places to service due to the lack of traffic and people.
People stuck at home require a few things to function which BT provide in spades....if only they sold toilet rolls too!!
"Recent Huawei 5G impact ~£0.5B" Zebbo the hit is over a number of years so wont show up in the next update.
"Covid has wiped out BT sport along with advertising - ~£1B hit" Speculative, remains to be seen.
We will have to await the next update, but BT and Telecoms in general is better placed than most other sectors.
zebbo, think about the amount of people installing and upgrading their broadband as they now work from home.
I would have thought BT is relatively better placed than most businesses for C-19
Covid has wiped out BT sport along with advertising - ~£1B hit
Recent Huawei 5G impact ~£0.5B
Many over paid people and way to many. They should and could run with at least 50% less managers
I think as a min BT should halt all pay rises and bonus. The top tiers MD and above should take at least a 25% salary cut with NO share options, bonus etc
Come on BT do the right thing
