The XD sell-off a curious thing. With respect for those who sold today, I must say I'd not even contemplate such a decision. SP growth over the coming year will earn far more than today's dividend scoop. I'll take both, thanks.
ex-div price holding up well so far.

Share Price up 19p so far today, dividends only worth 17.36p - will be interesting to see what happens after ex-div on Thursday. Some profit taking is likely, but it looks like BMY has been re-rated based on the trading update, with some downside worries more or less eliminated through strong proof of the validity of the diversification strategy. More to come here, surely, with higher margin business growing so strongly?
SP rising nicely ahead of ex-div next Thursday

Looks like you were spot on Janus1 - a tremendous update for the first four months, continuing the trend and confirming consensus views for the year. Latest acquisitions generating significant revenue, non-consumer division growing strongly. Holders being rewarded well here, with management reading their markets nicely.
thanks Bla - makes sense, other reason for positivity may be positive AGM on Wednesday and any further indications of future growth. Given todays overall losses in the market just being in the blue is positive.
Sort of Janus. BMY is a rare riser in todays market. I'm speculating it's due to people jumping in 10 days ahead of an unusually large dividend - if so, there will be a corresponding fall if they all sell when it goes ex-div. Rise could be for other reasons though, analysts perceptions of BMY may be evolving.
blah
what are you classing as the big jolt? or do you simply mean the natural fall in share price that corresponds to the dividend percentage?
Latecomers getting on board the dividend special ?
XDD on 29th - get ready for the big jolt ( :
a hiccup this afternoon, but climbing again now. Remember XDD is not far away.

New target price of 400p

So many good things today - outstanding results, unexpected special dividend, brilliant acquisition of Head of Zeus (superb talent, both in authors, management and staff), and a fabulous leap forward in the Digital resources division, where profits surged from £0.7m to £2.9m. Not too shabby for an old curiousity shop.
with completion of acquisition strengthens BMY even more. Great results, great management team.

Fantastic results today. Better still than the previous two upgraded forecasts and special dividend too. Board has handled COVID expertly- robust business model and prudent decision making early on now paying dividends, literally speaking. My view, reasonable current value 360-380p with excellent future prospects and potential to reach 400p+ should next update be as strong as predicted by board.
Agree, brilliant results plus great dividend to reward shareholders. GLA
Outstanding results for the FYE 28 February 2021 and a very positive outlook:
"Considering the ongoing momentum and strength of our business, Bloomsbury expects revenue to be ahead and profit to be comfortably ahead of market expectations for the year ended 28 February 2022."
Excellent performance by the company which in my view is still under-rated.
Results should be good tomorrow as expectations running high.

Nice SP movement so far today. I'm confident that BMY has good momentum in its business which should lead to further growth. The more I research the company the happier I am with my holding.
Moving up nicely today, results due 2nd June.

Tech market jitters don’t make for a case to sell BMY, in my view. Though, the herd-like response across the board does make for a nice opportunity to accumulate here and there.
Looks like a complementary bolt-on, accelerating a successful strategy. Sensible move which seems to immediately improve the quality and scope of the business. Well done management team, growth in sync with the season.
Couldn't agree more. Sound strategy, strong profit and cash flow momentum, experienced management and a solid balance sheet. Surely more to come in terms of SP appreciation over the next year or so.
Very pleased with my holding here.
