Big difference between Meyer thinking they will and him actually knowing they will. Quite frankly I was surprised at how little Meyer really understands about the companies he bangs on about. He's a financial analyst not a visionary like the guys at BMN. Now if BMN did spin off BE it would be to create shareholder value not a quick buck sale. If BMN feel the company as one is only ever going to be seen as a miner and the SP tagged to the V price then perhaps there would be a case to spin it out as a stand alone and perhaps that's what he meant. They could perhaps also split the V production with V for steel in the mining side of the business and V for electrolyte in the BE side. In fact thinking about it, they could create a bit of a synergy by doing so.
Hey ho...lets get BE bringing in the bacon first. Electrolyte and Battery assembly facilities to complete first...plus some order taking wouldn't go amiss...
ConMan94.. No I don't agree... Its integral to the Vanadium story/integration.
I agree, I was a little confused. I don't normally watch videos which are >1 year old if its a broker/analyst, so think it's 'fairly' recent - will get back to you.
Ta. Seems to go completely against the vision of a vertically integrated company that has access to monetise value at every link in the chain.
I just saw it on a video yesterday - don't recall when the video was posted. I'll try and find the video again tonight to get the date and I'll link the BB.
When did he say that conman?
I hope not - I want Fortune and Mikhail to take this all the way through
I would not agree to that .. after Afritin ... besides ..we would then not be an 'integrated vertical supplier'
He also said he thinks BMN would spin out BE. Do we agree?
He's such a tease that John Meyer is :)
Faramog...even if he was privvy to such info he wouldn't be able to release it to the wider markets because at that point he'd be 'inside' and that's why its up to the company to release the 'numbers' to the markets as a whole via their official results RNSs so that nobody gains an unfair advantage.
He did say they know BMN is looking to add significant value to the company based on the various projects they are working on/have in the pipeline but he would be guessing without the official numbers.
Interesting Bella ...
I would have thought the nomad would have been privy to rather more information and would know both the current numbers, works in progress and projections. Your comment rather suggests they have decided to ignore valuation of the de-risking and expanded production until Bushveld formally issues production and projection figures (or were not privy to much in the first place).
In one sense, with a current target of 4X current SP, it is all rather a mute point, but for the wider market, if the nomad attributes no value, then why should they.
Still, we should get Q4 figures by the end of next week and hopefully a forward guidance
I spoke to Meyer about that and he said they needed 'numbers'... Hopefully we might get some projections in this set of numbers to allow brokers and market to reassess their valuations...
Rich ... you completely ignored answering your own questions about the S.A Govt there .... greed Mantashe and the coal and oil bosses for a start .. nuclear industry ...
The questions are:
Can this company really succeed in South Africa?
Will the government focus on the real needs of the people and let it flourish?
Will there continue to be foreign investment and stimulus?
Has the company real got a world class resource?
Can it really succeed?
Well on all these points it is making progress and becoming a world class company with a Board of Directors who have motivation and leadership skills, with empathy for the people and the local community! So yes it can.
Cheers RK
The full least of income streams are:
Nitrovan - two grades - Vametco
V205 - Vanchem
V203 - Vanchem
FeV - Vanchem
Vanadium Chemicals - Vanchem
Vanadium Ore - Bushveld Mokopane - Comming!
Iron Ore - Bushveld Mokopane - Potential
Vanadium Electrolyte - Bushveld Energy
Electrolyte Leasing - Royalties from Bushveld Energy
Bushveld Energy - VRFB Sales in Africa working with VIP Partners and others
Bushveld Energy - Renewable Energy Projects and MicroGrid Projects in Africa
Bushveld Energy - Enerox VRFB Manufacturer
Afritin - Income from the 8.1% stake in the business
Lemur - Either income from the sale of the business or progress and long term income from the substantial power generation project in Madagascar
So if anyone thinks that Bushveld Minerals is just a Vanadium Mining compnay then think again!
Last years huge profits gained after a run on the vanadium prices which helped Bushveld Minerals leapfrog the other market potentials and now even with low prices it helps us jump even further ahead as the other players are held back from huge investments right now. That's why the Bushveld Energy VIP program is so important to Bushveld Energy and also so important to Avalon, REDt and others to give the market long term supply.
The Battery Energy Storage market is looking to be the most exciting sector as the world changes from fossil fuels to renewables and VRFB look like taking a larger slice of this market than we thought might be possible.
They may not be in every home, but they are likely to play a huge role in both Grid storage and Mini-Grid storage systems around the world, the ability to make renewables work will be globally significant!
These are exciting moments for Bushveld Minerals investors. It beggars belief that the market still has not seen this opportunity, but the time is coming when it will.
In the meantime get excited at what is coming:
- Mokopane Licence and future operation explanation as well as the DFS
- BESS tender news
- Bushveld Energy Projects
- Bushveld Energy Electrolyte Plant update
- JSE Listing and possible move the FTSE
All the exciting news!
Cheers RK
Amxdd.
Many others have said they bought shares higher up, me included. Of all the companies I hold this is the only one where being down on paper doesn't ever worry me at all, which is weird, but like you say it's difficult to find a more compelling option.
Richken and Nick Derby are best for listing, so thanks to them for that and essential reading.
Positives for me personally:
You can't emulate this company, you just can't. It is unique.
They are cash rich and able to reinvest capital in their growth
BMN is brilliantly led and the CEO has a knack for vision and sealing deals at the right time
I believe that production will expand as planned
You can get these shares for the same price as when the company didn't have Vanchem and workers had downed tools
Negatives:
Vanadium price obviously
BE is still in it's infancy and the market does not recognise it yet
I dislike and don't trust Eskom, Knuttie wrote a good post the other day about them
Departure of FM or MN would change the company drastically (doesn't mean I think it'll happen)
That's all for now
Well here is an introduction to what you really need to know! This board is one of the best for info!
If your new to this board you might like just to read this....
Get to know the basics of Bushveld Minerals:
- Bushveld Minerals are a mining business mining vanadium which is used to strengthen steel
- Vanadium is also used in a breaking electrolyte technology used in large energy storage batteries
- Bushveld Have two processing plants Vametco and Vanchem - currently producing a combination of 4160 mtV, in last year with an average selling price of circa US$40 per kilo with an operation coast of circa US$19
- Bushveld has plans to more than double the capacity of these two plants to 8400 mtV pa within 3 years
- Bushveld has 3 mines Vametco in operation, Brits and extension to Vametco and Mokopane which has the licence for mining in progress which happens to be the largest high-grade Vanadium mine in the world
- Bushveld has built up a new division called Bushveld Energy which has partnerships with Avalon, REDt and Enerox GmbH
- Bushveld Energy has installed at the Eskom Battery Test facility a VRFB which has been operational over a year which is being used for evaluation purposes
- Bushveld Energy is in the process of building a Vanadium Electrolyte plant in East London (SA)
- The Electrolyte plant will eventually have the capacity for 1000MWh of electrolyte
- 1000MWh of electrolyte needs approximately 5000 mtV per year
- Bushveld Energy is working with multiple partners around the world through Vanitec to build the strong business case for VRFB
- The world supply chain for vanadium remains in deficit and although other projects around the world are in planning so far Bushveld is ahead of the other players in every respect
These are the key aspects and are all facts!
If you are not sure - then read this:

Target broker price 82 pence! This year looks very strong!
This is the basis for a clear illustration of the strength of Bushveld Minerals!
Cheers, RK
I still don't think the markets have taken into account the 30% extra revenue from Vanchem sales and the next update will be all revealing, along with refurbishment plans.
Richken has a list if you scroll back a few pages, of imminent news.
Worst case scenario? Vanadium price continues in the doldrums for another year and nothing comes of the bromance with Eskom. Likelihood of both? In my opinion, small.
Been quiet on this board due to the *diffrence of opinions* however any reason to invest more to this company. Been down 30% for almost a year now however doing well on some other shares I haven’t yet found another that I can fully invest in without worrying as with bushveld it does seem to be a hidden gem in the aim game a gem I haven’t personally reaped the rewards like others, yet.
However back to the point.
What’s to look forward to
What’s the negatives
Appreciate any and all opinions.
Thank you
