Problem with Boucher was he had no share options and didn't give a hoot about share price
out NOW!!.
I'm laughing that Bank of Ireland management allow their company trade like a 2 bit penny stock. I think we should start a petition to get Boucher out. Obviously from the market reaction AIB management are doing a much much better job.
Aib now valued 66% higher approx @4.71
Morning all... Can someone please post an link to the new AIB live ticker prices? Much appreciated.
Not...
I have just watched Question Time, which this evening came from Plymouth - earlier the six o'clock news revealed that our immigration problem is solved. The current value of the pound makes it much less attractive to foreign workers, who come here for fruit and veg picking. It is claimed that other european countries such as Holland, Spain and Germany are now much more attractive as places to work and are easier and cheaper to get to. The enforcement of EU employment law is also more effective in those countries. Our rail links with the rest of the country are being upgraded with the introduction of brand new Hitachi trains - long long long overdue. They have been promised for at least the last twelve years to my knowledge so that the forty year old carriages can now be replaced with some that are comfortable. The future as indicated by the panel is still painted as being rosy by the Banking Elite which unfortunately does not chime with my own view. I wish I could share their enthusiasm but I am far from optimistic as I prepare to meet our Punch and Judy man on the beach tomorrow. Good luck all. Good luck all. Applications to work in the NHS are similarly affected, being down almost 80% this year, places in our Universities are also affected - begging the question why do we need so many of them. I reviewed a list this morning - before I went to the course - and was amazed to read that almost every town of any size has a university and most of the decent sized towns have two.
Not Cork & I never got the hang of golf. West Cork is great, stayed in Glengarriff a few times. After the IPO AIB will still be answerable to its majority shareholder, the Dept of Finance. BOI are answerable to all its shareholders. In the long & short term I believe that BOI will provide me with the enter return. I still think that Friday & Monday could be very interesting. Good luck to all
I think you will find AIB was always the stronger back in the day. By the way Ashton is that the name of a secondary school in Cork? Also do you play golf?
I believe that BOI will provide me with a better return even over the short term. However in the good old days their Merket Caps were similar.
Is that what we're reduced to BOI doing well depends on AIB performance lord help us
Time to put away any handbags. Now for the big question: At what price will both banks open tomorrow? I bought BOI writhin the last month (in profit) didn't apply for any AIB. If they hold 440 or higher that should be good news for the BOI price (I hope!)

You and the clowns in the circus are the same.

You are a disaster at stirring it up here you just fail every time, son.
I was minding my own business until your friend deadcat decided he fancied a bit of handbagging
Could you be that witch that lives up on Snugborough and puts a hex on everyone and thing that she meets ? It seems that you have [placed a hex on BOI, son.
90% Institutions (my bet is our pension funds) Only 10% small investors (the general public is smarter than you think)

At least you share my taste for a good drink - there are many places that I used to drink in in the seventy's - X4 no doubt remembers them all. One of my favourites used to be The Orange Tree @ Harlesden or The White Hart in Fulham Broadway on my way into The Hibernian to do some serious business with the ladies. In answer to your question - things they tell me are still moving here but we are waiting for a buyer - many people are migrating from the capital and can't believe it when they get down here. On the other hand a lot of people are leaving, because the bottom has dropped out of the letting market due to poor returns on capital and tenants who are more like vagrants. Where property is offered at attractive prices, quite often it is because of the cost and amount of work required to make them habitable after ten years of neglect and tenants it is not something that the owners wish to take on because they would have to spend money and so they choose to cut their losses. The big employers here are the public services who support our local tradesmen and some local businesses, the hospitality trade has suffered greatly over the last fifteen years, with Brexit now on the cards that should just about finish it. If we are obliged to depend on "native" labour, manners, punctuality and dress standards should be considered - before we even think about hygiene and socially transmitted diseases. That's our economy - no wonder I play golf. Good luck all - Take a COLD ONE out of the fridge Martin.
