FF23 there are several people that agree with us he doesn’t hold any shares so why doesn’t he move on the another thread where he does hold shares if he’s got any at all where this moves up you won’t see him for dust good luck,
Uncle Mal, you’re spot on about lbjj - just repetition over and over again of an opinion unsupported by anything other than his own perceptions. I took him off filter a couple of weeks ago, but I can see nothing’s changed so he’s gone back on to sit in silence with busterhogdog and gambier. I like to hear different opinions, but not when they’re motivated by spite.
lbjj yes and I’m 83 you missed that one out ,now run along your a total bore on here but you know that don’t you,
I had no idea you held 5 million shares, Unclemal. You’ve never mentioned it before hahaha.
And with a 30 p average in your mid 80s. I’d be cashing in and blowing the lot.
DAZBEST lbjj he only posts here to cause misery did you notice that when the share price was rising he was nowhere to be seen, directly we get a bit of red back he comes Grrr, he’s not even a shareholder, I hold nearly five million shares but while he’s around I don’t bother to post much, good luck to you,
Says the ever-present ibjj, the irony!
PS Whatever it is that I revel in or am committed to...I'm invested here and you're not, which means my involvement on a daily basis is considerably less weird than yours is.
What did you expect me to do...there's a democratic government in Sweden. The previous Minister failed miserably to make this decision despite, promises and lies and there was a reason for that quite beyond my control or influence and I'd blame the PM for that. But Sweden now has new leadership and independent...it's a new start and unexpectedly good...so give him a chance.
Suzy2,
You’ve got plenty of form as an apologist for these superannuated jobsworths. You defended Baylan and Damberg too, believing their commitment to the process.
It’s as if you revel in the indecision and want it to go on for ever ffs.
Eric...You're post wasn't on my screen when I looked in earlier. I agree we have to shoulder it but also bear in mind that Kurt has made plenty statements about the Company's intentions towards all stake holders and his views must be well known by all concerned. It looks carefully considered to me not cowardly and negligent, not in the least bit. It's pretty nasty and abusive to say things like that about someone who has clearly stated he intends to take the necessary action with all haste (my words)...he should be given a fair chance to do his job without instructions from Ibjj.
Yes, might seem logical to you and I, engaging equally with BEM to show respect to all parties involved, not to mention fairness, considering we've been waiting nearly nine years, but we must only deal with what is actually happening and shoulder it, rather than focus on what we'd like to happen.
So when Thor reads the Sami’s final submission, which will be a combination of waffle and unfounded allegations against all and sundry and how the whole world is against them, he has no context in which to assess the comments without having first sought a thorough and equal briefing from the company.
I don’t understand how anyone can believe this is anything other than cowardly and negligent??
And your musings are precisely the same as mine. :-)
I’ll answer my own musings, it’s too early to speak to us, that will follow feb 2, is my guess.
Hi suzy, well the company has a right to reply I guess but if Thor is really intent on saying yes, then he has to engage Beowulf in terms of compensation and appeasing Sami. It would give me some comfort if we saw this engagement.
Geraint I think the Sami people are really a lot more important to the Minister than the CEO of a Mining Company, they're citizens of Sweden after all and KB's only the CEO of a Mining Exploration Company. I don't think it matters that he's a British CEO because the mine would be Swedish in every respect.
Geraint...I
Ibjj...You shouldn't accuse someone of doing something they haven't done, especially repeatedly. We should give him till March, preferable early March.
Thank you Pocko that was very interesting.
Of course Thir should familiarise himself with Sami culture, practices, reindeer husbandry etc,
but his decision is on a mining license, so to never have met or spoken with the company throughout tells me he is another decision avoider.
If you don’t get both sides to contribute, he may as well do a Baylan and slope off the political scene.
Crazy.
I would hope Budge has been battering on his door since November.
I’m ‘digging’ your positive vibe. The only real encouragement I got from the interview was
“The Minister of Trade and Industry also wants to emphasize that the current case concerns the cultivation concession and which use of the land in the area should take precedence.”
It could infer he’s saying don’t worry about this first green light as there are many other hurdles after it where further answers and obstacles will be navigated.
Pocko as usual thank you very much ,
Dialogue does appear one-sided... I view it as the appeasement of a self-entitled minority. The law will prevail...
I’d feel happier if it stated Thor was also in dialogue with the company and not just the Sami. Plus we all know the UNESCO reports is unhelpful twaddle.
Continued:
Unesco believes that a mine in Gállok can have a very big impact on the world heritage and the protected natural and cultural landscapes in Laponia. There has also been criticism that the Sami villages in the area have not been given sufficient influence and the opportunity to comment on the matter.
A decision is expected in March
On Wednesday, January 19, the time expired for the opportunity to speak. The Sami Parliament has until February 2 and the government is then expected to make a decision in March, according to Sami Radio.
When Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson as chairman of LO visited Poultsa, outside Kiruna six years ago to get a better picture of the reindeer herding industry, he told SVT Nordnytt that he got “a little embarrassed about how little we know in the rest of the country about reindeer husbandry and the Sami ”. He must also have admitted that he then commented on mining establishments without having full insight into the consequences for other industries.
Do you have more insight today?
- I have at least made an honest attempt. We then had a dialogue with the Sami Parliament and the Swedish Sami National Federation, and I was invited to Kiruna for a long snowmobile trip where we looked at deposits that a British company wanted to mine. The Sami Parliament then visited the LO castle and we continued the dialogue in Stockholm. In a leading position, you have an obligation to know more about the Sami rights.
How has the dialogue been with the Sami before the decision on Gállok?
- It has been a very long case. I can only get an overview of the last six, seven weeks. I myself needed information directly from the source so I have met the Sami Parliament at the ministry and talked to them on the phone.
The Minister of Trade and Industry also wants to emphasize that the current case concerns the cultivation concession and which use of the land in the area should take precedence. Should the mining company receive a positive message, a number of other trials await, says Karl-Petter Thorwladsson.
Can we not reuse the steel we have instead of opening a new mine?
- Steel is one of the world's most recycled materials. 93 percent of all iron and steel is recycled. And it can be reused as many times as you like, but everyone understands that we use more steel today and the amount is not enough.
Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson is also looking forward to seeing more of the steel company LKAB's project ReeMAP, which aims to try to recycle rare earth metals in the residual waste from iron ore mining.
- I'm not sure how many mines will be needed in the future, but it is important that ReeMAP can be tested. We do not know how many rare earth metals can be found in the flows, but we know that Northvolt in Skellefteå needs lithium that is found in Sweden, and the EU demands that we become less dependent on metal from outside, so the need is quite large. Mining is needed, but it is not about hundre
