MilBanker, liking the optimism there. Would be really surprised if we did though.
It is proving far more difficult for them to take out this R' atm though, so im waiting to re jig my charts at 208+
Mind you once tapering balances out offset against any rate increases , we should really see some strong support dig in.
IMHO I cant really see Barclays making the earth move unless they suffers a mag' 7 down Canary Wharf lol
Regards W'
was just optimistic that the 240 may be achievable
this side of Xmas...
Morning MilBanker, personally I never pay any attention to that.
Them figures can also include bluff book data sitting in the system, which isn't good practice but does still happen.
Regards W'
Uncrossing trade tripled in size today.....plus a random big buyer as well....something
we should know?
Yes correct , hence the term (Post LaboUr Day and not Pre Labour Day)
It was seen as a turning point for the markets returning investment after Labour Day.
Though the recent data dampened any rally, hence the shock to gold prices , though gold futures indicate a stable price and more chance of going long than short.
Regards W'
It was Labor day ?
Crikey, talk about watching paint dry aye.
Now the yanks are post Labour Day and U.K are retuning from holidays , the ECB need to pull a rabbit out the hat this week or they'll take some real flack.
Bond market has raised a few eyebrows, all pointing to some green shoots.
Good Morning MVarawa, fully agree.
Anyone who claims to know that kind of detail is usually in the know with inside information, not half these anals claiming they can pin the tail on the donkey.
All he was doing is stating the obvious, which any of us can see plain and clear on the chart for ourselves.
Its frightening how many millennial's get sucked into these socail media trading subscriptions .
Mind you if im honest I did fall for Galvins scam many years back, when I was fresh meat in the trading game.
When I say fresh meat, id been getting my pants pulled down chucking money into Barclays BPIM account.
The only way to describe BPIM was like watching Jordon Belfort selling his first Penny Stocks .
Galvan were no different, they had a sales team filling their traders desks, punting really heavy CFD trades and keeping clents until they got burnt and dried up, whilst taking £100 comms in and £100 comms out .
Shocking the money them lads were churning through, needless to say I started trading for myself , which was fantastic returns until , the bank shares went pop.
Its a funny ole game .
The smallest amount seen for at least 12 months, if not longer. Hmmm…. I guess no news is good news?

In the 185 zone again. Seems like it's being controlled unless market uncertainty then you get a big drop and a slow climb back.
The company buy back is being controlled , so the price stays in a narrow range. I do not expect there will be much dramatic change, unless there are other significant buyers to push up the price.
MADRID (Reuters) - Spanish telecom operator Telefonica has hired investment banks Barclays and LionTree to seek a partner to finance its fibre network in Britain, Spanish online newspaper El Confidencial reported on Thursday citing sources close to the transaction.
British cable and mobile provider Virgin Media O2, jointly owned by Telefonica and Liberty Global’s, is planning to upgrade it entire network to full fibre by 2028 and raise its number of subscribers to 21 million, El Confidencial said.
The operation would require between 4 billion euros and 5 billion euros, El Confidencial said.
A spokesperson for Telefonica declined to comment. A Barclays spokesperson was not immediately able to comment. LionTree did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

I find reading the synopsis of the authors career as interesting as anything:
"Crispus Nyaga is a self-taught financial analyst and trader with more than seven years in the industry. .... He has also published for prominent financial publications like SeekingAlpha, Forbes, Investing.com, and Marketwatch. Crispus.... is currently working on an MSc in Financial Engineering from WorldQuant University. When he is not trading and writing, you can find him relaxing with his son."
Hasn't worked on any 'top secret' projects yet, but I guess he is still young. Not heard of 'WorldQuant' University before....free tuition 'apparently'!
The latest update from investingcube.com who speculate, from a Chartists point of view, on “both sides of the coin” for the Barclays Share Price for the month of September 2021.

Why not give a spammer / fraudster a list of every valid bank phone number... oh, hang on, they did. I suppose it makes my bank a little safer if the bad actors focus on the gift given by BARC.
Never been able to work out how people who can predict the financial future never keep their secrets to themselves.
I have a niece in Canada, who is always running some scheme to tell others how to make money in property, she lives in a dump and off her credit cards but for the sum of $CN 199 will tell you how to save money!
Like the people who run the seminars telling people how to make money trading, but can't make that much themselves in the business. If and when I fathom out how to win the lottery each week I will keep it to myself.
Hi kassam83,
Indeed, it can be called debt, it's only the posh people who call it credit. I hope your confidence proves to be correct.
Many customers will pay their credit card loans on time or with interest as needed, but I just wondered if BARC paid book value for that outstanding credit just as we are hopeful of coming out of a downturn financed by Government debt? It's OK for the directors if all turns sour, shred the paperwork and collect the bonus. Govt. won't pick up the tab next time and while the bank might survive by borrowing from the Middle East, shares would never recover as I know too well.
If yo borrow $3.8 Million from the bank and you are in trouble, borrow $3.8 Billion from the bank and the bank is in trouble.
Good luck, I sincerely hope I am wrong, and am pleased the share price is above 185 as that's what I paid in 2014 (I think) for 1 for 4 Rights Issue. The rest were mostly between 340 and 601 and I'm still holding today.
Only time will tell I’ve bought back in yesterday along with Stan as well think the upward trend is going to push a lot higher over the long term so just want to be in now while good value.

I guess you can call it debt, it is a portfolio of credit card customers who own GAP branded credit cards. Seems like a lot money for it
They have bought some debt. It could be good debt or bad debt. The latter is rarely worth 10P in the pound.
Could go either way.
Barclays to Acquire $3.8 Billion US Credit Card Portfolio...
What does everyone think?
MrWolf, many thanks for your kind words. Rolled over my 188p Limit Order on the basis it wasn’t fulfilled today… more in hope than belief. Good Luck with your trading also my friend.
Good afternoon Mr A & others,
Every positive 'Cut an paste' is always worth a recommend thumbs up.
Good luck with your T seems realistic.
The top brass are all having their annual jolly boys do today, so lots of positive chat referencing the future equity market and yield has clearly attracted some interest of late.
Jerome 'onimo" is rattling on about the FEDs inflation guess work tomorrow too.
So basically we will start to see the momentum take effect sometime next week.
Its at these times I reflect to short term charting for indication , though I personally use the EMA's and not the SMA's.
(Sharing some trade secrets lol)
So ill be hoping for some higher highs and sad if we get lower lows.
Asian markets on a sticky wicket atm, they had just started to buy the dip and past few sessions that faded through.
Crikey I hate trading sometimes !
Good luck with your strategy, any profits banked is good profit.
Regards W'
Just placed my Limit Sell Order at 188p. Not sure if it will be triggered today but having seen circa 3p rises on low volumes via Buybacks in the last few weeks then there is a possibility it will be automatically fulfilled.
All imho please MYOC and GLA.
