#armour
What were the actual reasons that the armor failed? Due to the proximate climate could these be sold on to different markets or even Other NATO countries that will all be rearming. Did anyone see any figures in relation to the margin/cost per unit at scale?
We may need to brace ourselves at the US opening, hopefully back from the US cash flow impact
Thanks grippa,
Having listened it make clear to me that the CEO is strong on outlining the problems and weak on offering solutions . The new CFO speaks well and did offer some positive views on going forward, and he does have a background in the defence business, which neither the CFO or Chairman have, so perhaps the only positive from a very poor day.
Sounds quite positive from the podcast, and just noticed that Peel Hunt has given a buy rating today.
But I did get a better understanding of why watching podcast here bellow.

worth a watch!! New CFO comes across well and explains how errors can be corrected!!
Well said Hola ... I honestly thought the SP would tank this morning and there would be a big sell-off, but so far it seems there is quite a bit of buying, hopefully nothing but decent news from now on.
Relief the CEO is going, Chairman needs to do the same. He has sat by and watched disaster after disaster and done nothing, so we may well find the new CEO he appoints is just another disaster.
I am afraid the CEO got carried away with some early success, then started to over reach and we are now where we are. How the hell did the CEO get agreement to spend probably around £75000/100000 putting AVON PROTECTION on the back of Bath rugby shirts, the US DOD officials & Generals never used to watch English rugby, !! Most people think it is an advert for condoms, it shows the action of a CEO over reaching and not understanding his business.
Chairman please let The idiot go as fast as you can get a new CEO, then go yourself.
Fingers crossed Damian, hopefully this is as bad as it gets. One thing we do know is that there will be increased spending in defence globally, so this should bear well going forward. A change to the CEO (Board) is no doubt a positive and maybe there will be chatter of take-over. The dividend has also been maintained.
All to play for the next Quarter, if they start winning the contracts they are alluding to then today will be long forgotten and this share will go above recent highs
Really disappointing results. Regrettably I didn’t sell at £13+ worth about £7 a share now. Hope management doesn’t raise capital and take private.
Thank heavens that idiot has gone but we are left with his carnage. I wonder what his leaving package is worth? Note to chairman, it should be nil. I wonder where mactwit will turn up next to weave his magic. Knowing my luck it will be Cohort. Another one for me to tuck way and forget for a few years.
The Net Debt increase is impressive at least on the back of falling revenue and inflation headwinds. It will take years to dig out of this hole. A poster child for the recent past and run-up in prices brought low as the environment changes combined with their own specific problems. Stear well clear until the dust settles.
Agree- terrible
Worth shorting this unfortunately
Disastrous results only bright spot is ceo leaving having wasted millions on failed body armour business he has messed up profitablity on other parts. good riddance.
Interim results tomorrow, and I have no idea what to expect. If it is mediocre/more bad news, I hope this has already been fed in, and we get only a slight fall in the SP, however, since the end of April it has tried to push forward. Was going to sell all last week and am hoping it doesnt fall below £10 as I don't really want to buy in again. Saying that the SP has always rebounded sharply after bad news. Fingers crossed for tomorrow, just a glimmer would be good, and after all, there is a war going on.
Is there a chance that news is being held back whilst the buy back is happening ? I would of assumed that this would of been stronger and not affected as much as the overall market
Personally I am buying on the dips below £10. I have a horrid suspicion Ukraine is just the beginning.
Apologies for butting in on this issue ,but I did “ramp up” Avon a while back as I saw and still see potential at this level. Since my last post it did pretty well getting well over 1300. It’s all about good research and common sense . It has a dividend going forward where other better known companies are not doing divi, it has a buy back policy which will see shareholders stake in the company grow ,even if it is only a small percentage. It makes helmets, gas masks and helmet liners all “consumables” in a war. It is an approved NATO supplier. And the order book was /is full of orders with top and bottom limits ,so customers can increase order quantities without needing to re bid.And probably a key issue is being in defence at the height of a conflict some announcements may be delayed due to official secret constraints. I suspect the future growth sales are there in the announcement you just need to read between the lines.I hope this helps , as usual DYOR
I have my reasons but I don't have to explain anything to your your a prick! But in time one of us will be right, if its me I won't be going saying "Theosus I WAS RIGHT"
Theosous I would never doubt that.....!! BUT gloating "I TOLD YOU SO...." is simply being a prick
Cheers Woodstock I was thinking how low can you go yesterday reading some comments. Hope your good to mate thanks
Grippa. You should know how grubby these boards can become. After posting on the Synairgen board for 2 years, things are relatively civil here. I do agree entirely with what your saying.
All the best.
Yesterday wasn't pleasant, today has been, this is the risk every investor takes. To see people gloating at yesterdays drop is extremely low and dose not paint a good picture or achieve anything, neither dose gloating if you done good. when a Sp drops its never nice, don't be a prick...... I still a believer here right or wrong and had to take yesterday I my stride but to see some nugget coming on here to gloat at someone else being wrong losing money paints a sad picture to the individual!!
And took that opportunity to top up a few more
