I first invested last April or so as I was taken in by the ramping on the video announcing the Cytiva deal. I also knew that Baillie Gifford were invested and they normally do a lot of research before investing.
Since then I have been in and out and have done fairly well with the trades, much more luck than judgement. I was out when the vaccine drop happened as I sold out around 180 mainly due to a quick trade on a 4D collapse and it was very inviting to finally get back in. The last time I was on here I was "deramping" by asking questions but some of the answers about AVA6000 and Tmac prompted me to increase my position.
However, the comments by AS about having trouble getting samples was a bit of an alarm bell given the high number of cases and it means someone, somewhere is creating problems with access to samples.
Also, from the Brummie interview it sounds like a lot of the collaborations are not going to deliver for at least a few years.
And Tmac won't happen until AVA6000 dosing happens.
The long run is fine but as Keynes said in the long run we are all dead.
Sang, surprised you think 2 people coming to the same or similar conclusion strange. All invested in avacta have, at some point, reached a conclusion that it is worth an investment, whether it be long or short term.
However, I didn't make a suggestion, I made the statement which I'll repeat ,"again you've made the case to dump your ISA holding".
Now I'll ask a question. What was the investment criteria that drew you to Avacta & when was that?
JDT. Yes they did well getting the AVA6000 to the point where dosing can start.
My point, which you choose to ignore, is that the Feb RNS says dosing will hopefully start around the mid point of the year but that is dependent on NHS resources and the pandemic situation whereas I think it is a shame dosing is not being carried out in the US
Ajok is a 100% paid deramper, all his posts have been appallingly trashy even when sp was at 270!!! Ajok, serously, go away and earn your trolling somewhere else on on Aim.
jdt, I have to say, you do an excellent job of countering the trolls, eejits and loons who litter this BB with their intellectually-lightweight, narrow minded child-waffle.
You must have the patience of a saint. Well done.
The optimist sees the glass half full.
The pessimist sees the glass half empty.
Big Al see the glass completely full, half in the liquid state and half in the vapor state.
Big Al is always right!

“I am in a company that has continually missed deadlines on the LFT and has often not been open and transparent e. g. BAMS so I am sceptical about the time frame for AVA 6000 dosing and think dose escalation will be a drag.”
Guess what - the one thing in the last 12mth that has been fully under Avcts control was AVA6000 filing and it was delivered bang on time.
Lft has been based around an unknown virus and needed the involvement of various third parties (some of which incompetent) and government (who regularly changed the goalposts) so of course things would slip.
You’re another of these “nervous” negative nellies that actually just has an agenda.
Sell up (if you’re even in) and F off if you don’t like they way Avct is operating.
Personally - what they achieved in the last 12 months gives me huge confidence in what the next 12 will bring!
Larsh, reading research notes by Miles Mcnulty or other Twitter feeds or watching Avacta promo vids is not doing research. Research means finding original questions that need to be answered and putting the answers in context. Many well researched posters never mentioned Innova last summer because no one knew who they were.
Also none of us are involved in the Avacta project. All we have done is bought some shares in the company. We have no input. We are not helping Avacta save the world.
Yep perfectly happy to say that. The rules are not enforced rigorously if there is no gain.
It's within the spirit of the rules that matters . Not going to discuss further as not the right place.
Sang re "Yeah but no one actually reports it. HMRC is not going to go after you if there isn't any actual gain"
Are you sure you want to be publishing that statement on a BB????
"Yeah but no one actually reports it. HMRC is not going to go after you if there isn't any actual gain" thats a classic!
I thought you were good at this as you post on more than one board :)
Before posting anything on a BB, one would do well to remember the majority of those here ARE invested and only want the share (and therefore, the company) to do well.
Sure, a lot of the chat is speculation. It’s human nature to be curious about an investment, as well as to seek assurance about the viability of the investment. At the same time, I doubt there’s a single investor who is not slightly irked about the delays to our tests. (Can’t believe this needs to be spelled out).
So don’t pretend to be offended when you lack the good grace to keep those inner doubts to yourself and instead decide to see how they play out on a chat room of, on the whole, well researched investors.
Anyone who has ever been a part of a large project (let alone one of this scale in a rapidly evolving global pandemic) will know that delays and hurdles along the way are inevitable. It’s the people who are able to adopt a positive approach to such inevitabilities that rise to the top, accepting that timelines are targets not promises. If you are unable to accept that, it’s your problem and I suggest you try maturing a little before volunteering any more skin to the game.
Doggy, transfer to ISA (sell from trading and re-purchase in ISA) can be done in 1 transaction - bed and isa. just call your broker.
Pl75
Can you help please?
Do you think it would be highly unlikely for the big news to drop before the 22cnd?
This means I could transfer my fund account to isa?
But knowing my luck it will drop when I’ve sold a few?
Regards
Yeah but no one actually reports it. HMRC is not going to go after you if there isn't any actual gain
Sang you do know that you have to report capital gains in SA if you have proceeds of more than 4x the 12500 allowance.
If you have traded/sold £50k or more then it is reportable anyway unfortunately.
2018 then, seemed like 2017. It was my first self selected share investment as I had used just funds before that
Of course you did. That was the price in 2017 wasn’t it?
It’s almost like your spouting absolute nonsense, even within the same thread. Oh dear...
No Jay Larc at the time it was at 125. I said not bothered if goes to 115 as I will book the loss and stay under the threshold so not having to do SA form, which would be very complicated.
No PL I first bought into 4D about the 110p mark
Zengah has been banned and all his posts removed Ed.
Because Pedro I sometimes get wound up by all the mindless ramping that goes on here.
All the speculation and tea leaf reading that goes on. I would honestly recommend posters here have a look though the posting on Angle, which Ruane are also invested in.
It's a highly promising company but has not been hyped up by the impact of Covid Dreaming. And as a result the BB is a space of tranquility and meaningful reflection.
Most on here are talking about what yacht they are going to buy. I apologise if my scepticism offends you. They ripped me a new one on 4D for trying to question the rampers who were claiming the Nasdaq listing alone would immediately rocket 4D up to £10.
I try to be a realist and I question my investments. I am in a company that has continually missed deadlines on the LFT and has often not been open and transparent e. g. BAMS so I am sceptical about the time frame for AVA 6000 dosing and think dose escalation will be a drag.
Sang..did you retire you Zengah moniker for good? You’ll have to reinvent yourself again soon.... as Sang now lacks any credibility
If this tanks to a little over a pound then i will not have to pay capital gains tax.
Genius :)
Sang is a top notch comedian. He keeps rattling out the jokes. The latest is that he was happy to invest and firmly hold DDDD since 2017 from £10, yet is ‘concerned’ about his ‘investment’ in here. I’m not surprised you’re worried Sang, there’s a chance to might have to pay some capital gains taxes, best move your money in to something that’s falling. Bet you’re kicking yourself you didn’t buy ncyt at the peak.
