Another good day for ATYM. Hope that it will finish the week at 360+, then 380+ next week. A wishful thinking of course but who knows. All we need is China to announce a stimulus package , which will surely push all mining shares to sky high.๐๐
In order to give the SP a push, we definitely need a set of results with good reading. Let's hope that we won't be disappointed.
Were waiting for q3 results. Update is due mid next month with financials following month. Its going to be far far better than last year where we made a loss because of fuel costs effecting everything.
This is definitely a good day for ATYM. Let's hope that it will continue to recover. Need 381 to break even, still a long way to go yet, lol ๐๐๐
Dividend was expected
but if wakes market up , great
It was just a mention in a discussion covering moly BHP

Yes and the dollar has benn moving in the right direction with respect to the euro.
Also we got a mention on this weeks Investorโs Chronicle .
And Jesus has just added. On 22/8.
Copper price seems firm
The mining sector has seen some weakness .. could just be that.
From AGM, ATYM is in a good place.
FYI

They rate us as a BUY.

Once again, the outlook of China has dragged the market down. Sea of red all over the place, two steps forward and one step back for ATYM too. No idea what tomorrow will bring now. Fingers and toes crossed, let's hope that things will get better. GLA
Another good day for ATYM, long may it continue.
You are correct maybe not today. But there is a new huge gdp entering into the requirement for copper
Lol yes MrDC, India is growing fast but not enough to affect the world stock markets yet. Maybe later when they have become the new China. Right now, it's all about the USA and China. If these two are doing well then the stock markets will have a blue day particularly, the miners, when China gives a set of good reading data. If you read the financial news or stock markets reports every day, you seldom see anyone mentioned about India but just the USA and China. These two are the driving forces at the moment. That's why we need them to do well.
The fact is india is growing at about 8% pa and has a larger population than china. Its going to be the.new china. Unless china sorts out its smoke and mirrors games it could get left behind
MRDC >
Here are the :-)
Strengths
Copper is a highly conductive metal, making it ideal for use in electrical applications.
Copper is also a durable metal with a long lifespan, making it a cost-effective choice for many applications.
Copper is relatively abundant, with global reserves estimated to be around 870 million tonnes.
The demand for copper is expected to grow in the coming years, driven by the increasing demand for renewable energy and electric vehicles.
Chile is the world's largest producer of copper, and the reduced capacity in China could lead to an increase in demand for Chilean copper, which could drive up prices.
Weaknesses
Copper is a relatively expensive metal, which can make it a cost-prohibitive choice for some applications.
The mining of copper can be environmentally damaging, and there are concerns about the sustainability of the copper supply.
Copper is a relatively soft metal, which makes it susceptible to damage from corrosion and wear.
The reduced capacity in China could lead to delays in the production of copper products, which could disrupt supply chains and lead to higher prices.
Opportunities
The growing demand for copper in the renewable energy and electric vehicle sectors presents significant opportunities for the copper industry.
The development of new technologies, such as 3D printing, could create new markets for copper.
The increasing focus on sustainability could lead to the development of more environmentally friendly ways to mine and produce copper.
The reduced capacity in China could create opportunities for other countries to increase their production of copper, which could lead to lower prices.
Chile is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for copper, as it is the world's largest producer of copper.
Threats
The rise of alternative materials, such as aluminium and plastics, could pose a threat to the demand for copper.
Political instability in major copper-producing countries could disrupt the supply of copper.
Natural disasters, such as earthquakes and floods, could damage copper mines and processing facilities.
The reduced capacity in China could lead to higher prices for copper, which could make it more difficult for some businesses to afford copper products.
The Chilean government could impose export taxes on copper, which could reduce the demand for Chilean copper.
Overall, the copper industry faces a number of challenges, but there are also some opportunities for growth. The copper industry will need to be agile and adaptable in order to capitalize on these opportunities and mitigate the risks.
And lets take 1 of those as an example. Rio tinto has taken a big hit in iron ore i believe. We dont have the luxury of many metals.
Then why isnt the LME full of copper?
Well MrDC, I think all the miners are affected by the downturn of the Chinese economy. Particularly Rio Tinto, it was over ยฃ60 and now it has dropped to ยฃ47. So are the other mining giants such as BHP and AAL. The SP of all of them have fallen to their lowest. India can't do much to help us. We need the Chinese economy to improve.
I wouldnt worry too much about chinas economy of smoke & mirrors. India will use up any reduction in usage there.
Yes, but most importantly, we need good and stable copper prices. Also the Chinese economy need to be improved too. So that all miners will be saved from collapsed.
I liked the bit where Alberto mentionEd that 2024 should be an interesting year.
Masa Valverde, Ossa Moreno, Rio Tinto East.
This is the first time for quite a long while that I feel a bit more confident after the H1 results. I am hoping to see it climbing its way back to the 380's. Good luck to all.
Ooops and that
