Update due at end of month.
Ignore the published spread, it is actually c0.5%.
It IS illiquid, so not for the trader, but may appeal to income seekers.
What is with the 65p spread?
Good set of results and now over 40p eps. Have bought some more and will hang in there until £10!
EPS dropped slightly from last year. But the underlying results look solid enough to me.
Look OK to this layman. Why the drop?
make a nice nest egg with a good dividend and highly in demand due to adverse weather conditions MS X
My Buy is showing as a sell!

Is a yield over 7% too good to be true? Combined with an AIM listing it initially suggests a dubious enterprise i.e. the stock priced for a high yield to compensate for risks. Yet the five-year table for Andrews Sykes (ASY) shows robust if variable financials, with cash flow significantly above earnings - the typical profile for a group of mature businesses. Capitalised near £140 million, it principally combines two long-established equipment hire operations: Andrews air conditioning and heating, and Sykes pumps for de-watering in situations like mining and construction. Stretching criticism, the group appears rather well-consolidated in this structure, possibly due to majority ownership by the Murray family - with Tony Murray as chairman and his son as vice-chairman. Yet the accounts are clean, capable management is in place, and the board prioritises shareholder returns - so this stock has use in a diversified portfolio.
Steady results and great dividends ideal long term ISA candidate in my opinion.
Half Year Results and Dividend around September
I think the company got out a lot of bad news 2 weeks ago. They must have done pretty well in July hence there cautiously optimistic bit at the end despite saying trading had been disappointing. Last winter was amazingly mild. I gauge it by my fish pond! Despite a few 'white grass' frost mornings, the fish pond didn't freeze over once all winter and there was no snow, just wind and rain. That, and the middle east, has hit them hard. This company is very weather dependent despite what they say. However, they do generate cash and still have healthy net funds and a healthy pension fund. Unfortunately, they need to keep enough staff and equipment to service the high demand periods, so they suffer when the demand isn't there. A small increase/decrease in revenue has a big impact on profits as we've seen. However, it can work the other way. I would think 250p would be getting very cheap for such a high quality company.
anyone with a view as to timing to buy in?
Historical EV/EBIT is 9.2-9.5. Forward looking EV/EBIT must be even better. P/E ratio of 13 is low against its peers Generates tons of cash every year (look at those margins!) 78/100 Stockopedia stock rank at present One of Paul Scott's fav shares Loves paying dividends (8.4% year just gone!) Bad point - Company has bought a large number of its own stock in years past. Now Management own 90% of the stock so PIs will be at their mercy. However this hasn't happened yet and that probably also explains the high dividend payments too Conclusion This is a really good company to invest into. Adding it to the watch list now.
You are right there. They had a good summer last year, sold out of air conditioners for a time and issued 2 dividends on the back of it. 2013 results due early May.
Money must be flooding in for Andrew Sykes! Hiring out water pumps/dehumidifyers/heaters to dry out all the flooded houses
worth buying now, to get the dividend in december? this was talked about on another board yesterday
