This week broker rating has increased excess 100% upwards (they were undervalued but now it seem fairly price (for last Q reports) now we only need wait for next few Q reports. Time will come.

The bottom line is that prior to Stroll taking control, no matter what was good or bad about AML, as a business it was failing and unsustainable. Stroll, along with the superb executive appointments he’s made has put AML on a firmer footing with a much much better chance of a very bright future. Those commenting otherwise are blind. Long and strong AML :-))))
I read the comments about all the glorious inhouse development Aston had done in the past whereas their future under Moers is to become a rebadged Mercedes. Don't they realize that the recent glorious past was built on Ford technology?
It does seem that AML were previously a strange marriage overseen by someone who had a vision for the product range but no vision for the production and efficiences needed to survive. The product range we have today was basically instigated by Andy Palmer, but he also oversaw the structure and production within the company, and crucially would have signed off the various models as ready for production. What has come to light since Herr Moers came on board is how inefficient and costly AMLs production techniques were. I have no problem with one paint shop with a capacity for 12,000 vehicles rather than 2 underused facilities in different locations. This may have cost jobs to facilitate, but it's undoubtedly saved a lot more plus given the company a future. Andy Palmer came from a volume manufacturer and probably couldn't see how AML's production techniques needed rationalising. He carried the can at the end of the day, but he also instigated a recovery that we see in the product range today.
I read all the press releases and interviews of senior personnel but am still waiting for any reference to design shortcomings. No doubt because it's personal these are all kept in house, but I would like to have a breakdown of sales for the new/old Vantage nose and why their Creative Design VP refers to AML as Design Engineers. Personally, when you're selling products to realise peoples' dreams then style and styling has a very significant place. Ferrari almost always get their styling right and yet their cars look individual. They produce cars that often tug at the emotions and I would argue that the DB9 and previous Vantage did this and was partly why they were such immediade successes.
Herr Moers made a comment that I found interesting, notwithstanding the versions of the DBX yet to come. He said he was looking at additional applications for the Cosworth V12, rather than it just being an engine for the Valkyrie. When the development costs have already been absorbed it would be a juicy consideration. I have one thought in mine - a final hurrah for the long distance GT car, front engined and maybe with all that power, four wheel drive. But certainly a long bonnet in the vein of the 365GTB4 Daytona, a way of saying farewell to the type of car on which AML has been based for so many years. Reckon a seven figure price would get plenty of takers and be a very nice earner for the company. I believe the existing Cosworth has been signed off for 60,000 miles between rebuilds, so a detuned version of perhaps 800 BHP should be more than capable of a six figure run. It could be AML's Superfast, except a little bit quicker and even more glorious sounding.
I guess all the FT article comments by finance folk are wrong too.

On holiday in Florida 4 years ago I met a gentlemen, Mr Zimmerman, who ordered a DB11 Launch Edition. In his own words "it just never worked" and despite a technician being sent over from Gaydon, they failed to fix it. He returned the DB11 under their lemon laws!
When I met him, he was driving a Lamborghini, and he asked me to tell Andy Palmer that this is what he had spent the refund on (I mentioned that Andy Palmer follows me on Twitter).
Aston Martin may be made in Britain, but it is a global brand, and the people commenting on Autocar don't seem to understand this. Quality at this price point is absolutely everything!
Yes, it is ridiculous. That's what I took into account was the poor quality of work apparently being carried out on the motors. Only die hard eccentrics will be the people commenting. Move with change and the times people. Or stay depressed stuck in the past.
Thanks for posting Fluker, and as a LTH I fully share your positivity. However, did you read the comments attached to the article? Just incredible how the vast majority of those commenting see Moers et al "murdering one of the greatest-ever marques" and "This is an automotive atrocity in process. " I cannot for the life of me see how anyone, other than a non investing, plus fours wearing, pipe smoking historian of classic cars could ever be so negative. Personally, I'm continually shocked as I read each of the Moers interviews published this week when he describes in lurid detail how bad the fundamental manufacturing and quality control processes were when he arrived. Project Horizon sounds long overdue and one wonders how the previous leadership team managed to survive so long with such structural / operational inefficiencies. Once Moers and the new team have delivered these immediate quality and margin improvements; all of which will flow straight to the bottom line, then I wonder what's next for a reboot - Creativity & Design maybe? Interesting times ahead methinks.
