Itisa
That made me laugh
I had a picture of us all in fast cars, women and nose bags
O the good old days :)
I traded a few usa stock. Had to complete a us tax form W-8BEN . Avct networks was a 6 bagger for a few k.
I heard about SPI but the issue I have found with those type of shares is finding a UK broker that you can trade them with. HL doesn't let you do them all, IG allow some!
Vorag
Gottcha
I wasn't trading or even looking at markets at the time. I had a few grand sat in an ISA in RBS from after the crash. Thought it might bounce back :( Put 15k in at 6 dollars and skimmed for deposit for windmill at 11 dollars. Ended up taking my 15k back out after covid as thought it was going to dive further but it shot back up to 15 :( But if I hadn't I would never of met all my new Amigos xxx lol
if amigo did that in a say 9 / 10 of us would have died from heart attacks / anxiety / drug or alcohol use / crashing our new super car by the end of the week.
Mark - what is the story behind SPI - Why the warp factor 10?????
Seamus it did it IN A DAY lol!
Correct no tax Seamus, but most brokers will charge an FX which is similar or more for the currency conversion. But then if that works in your favour you could sell at the same price and make money!
seamus - i have family who are site managers etc and the amount of houses they have a backlog to build is phenomenal, your talking 20 years + worth of work, land and sites owned / owned under contract ready and waiting. And every private builder has been booking 6-12 months in advance, even with everything going on.
mark - i just looked at that story, wow, i think amigo should buy some battery chargers from aliexpress and pop them on their website too lol.
Mark 3000%
OMG what could that do for us ?
Although if Amigo ever got back to £3 that would the same. Thought I'd stir while sat on my ass
If I remember correctly I don't think you pay Stand duty on US shares. I was in FOLD for a while. Made some decent gains but was only in there because my wife was launching their first drug in the uk
Mark, I’ve been in and out of Nikola a few times and made a bit as it’s quite volatile, but the drawbacks are it looks a bit dodgy and has fallen out of grace and I find the exchange rate and fees can screw you over, plus the usual spread and fees and unless you have a healthy wedge to put in it can be prohibitive for diving in and out lots of times. Plus my broker doesn’t have US alerts and you end up checking your phone until 9:30pm. Plus you can’t trade pre-market and it is really frustrating seeing it shoot up when you want in waiting for market open or seeing it nose dive before open is crushing! Also the patterns are weird and make no sense to me, I’m glad I’m out. The other factors are the huge pull back the US is due and their BB’s are utterly moronic, so difficult to get any decent info. I’m watching NIO, SQ and SBUX as possible plays.
Havi - glad about what mate???
Itisa
same SIG as I've been watching
I just think when thinks get back to normal building will rocket and gov will start grants up again to support lower emissions
I thought HURR dropped due to too much water being pumped and wells not a full as they thought
Havi - I put £300 in Thor and it fell 20% - it's not going to bankrupt me and I'm in that for the long, as I am here!!!
Mark - 3100% is what this will do on Tuesday at about 11.33am - Ha Ha
Worth looking at US markets as well! Did anyone see what that spi energy did in Wednesday ? Totally incredible 3100% in a single day. I keep meaning to start dabbling over the pond but just haven’t got round to it
SIG (im referring to ticker SHI / SIG roofing etc not signature avait) no idea on takeover, i just like the business and feel its been hit more then others in the building sector, with it recently raising at 25 / 30p and clearing some of the debts.
HUR - im a bit bias there as ive been in and out of it its whole listing life, at 3p and it still pumping millions of £ of oil out daily i think its too low, i dont trust the current board and my gut says the current management are underplaying it for a golden parachute bonus on a cheap takeover, i think the stock will have liquidity of shares dry up over next few months with CA and others buying and the price will move, price is very much controlled by shorts at the moment there, i think CA will get on the board and buy the bonds for the <30% in the £ that they are trading at and the company will flourish.
Hur has many similarities to here, has cash to buy back bonds on the cheap, has management that i dont trust, has significant holders buying up stock, has significant holders that value the company very differently to the management, has a large chunk of cash which they can utilize in many ways to secure the company while the markets under value them.
Apart from HUR Yea Its defiantly a longer term watch list.
Hey ITISA
Do you think SIG will be bought out ? I've sort of watched them for a while,
HURR ? do you think they will recover ? I was in there at 6p but luckily I sold to come here a few months ago
I think the rest are all waiting for Vaccine before we'll see those still strong-enough will bounce big time
Itisa all the banks on you list apart Amgo who are not a bank have serious covid exposure, and are one of the worst investments on the ftse 100 at the moment October is going to be a blood bath.
Go steady people I can see Lloyd’s being bailed out again in the near future fall to around 17p.
I think my trading style is called “pot luck” lol ;-)
@vorag. Thanks I will look at that. I don't think I have a trading style!
Depending on your trading/investing style, I like How to make a million...slowly, by John Lee. It’s more of a value seeking, leave it in to stew, small cap approach.
nope
