LONDON (Dow Jones)--Healthcare company Assura Group Ltd. (AGR.LN) Wednesday said it sold a 75.1% stake in its "GPCo" business to Virgin Group's Virgin Healthcare Holdings. The unit sets up joint ventures with U.K. doctors to provide services to National Health Service patients. It has established 30 so far. Assura, which also operates a pharmacy and property business, received GBP4 million from the sale which it reinvested in the business. Virgin also loaned it GBP4 million. It said the sale will enable it to focus on its other activities. As recently as June 2009, Assura was touting its loss-making GPCo business as the focus of its resources but shareholders asked it to reconsider, Chief Executive Richard Burrell told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview in November last year Company Web site: www.assuragroup.co.uk -By Jason Douglas, Dow Jones Newswires; 44-20-7842-9272; jason.douglas@dowjones.com (END) Dow Jones Newswires March 03, 2010 02:05 ET (07:05 GMT)

gradual increase throughout today
badcall on iii : the tip you received is now permeating around the markets and I sense we are about to see some serious action here. I heard there is at least one very large player in on this one. AGR may be a relatively small operation now but is set to get very much bigger imo. And soon if rumours are to be believed.
Thanks Im going to be happy all the way to the bank. DYOR and always invest wisely
of this share. The big buys today indicate someone out there knows something we dont. Great share tremendous upside. Could AGR have a takeover potential? IMO yes but please DYOR and always invest wisely
There must be some news awaiting as there were 3 large buy worth of 3M when the whole market is own its knee.. Keeping my eye open 2morrow morning
in this share currently. Are the property assets now undervalued? W e are seeing increased valuations on other commercial property companies. AGR are slightly different in that their clients are long term and 100% sound.DYOR and always invest wisely
