What impressed me most with this RNS is our cash balance of £63M. That means we've doubled our income since the fundraise last year, so it seems ABB has invested heavily in AFC.
Another thing that stands out is the recruitment of new product engineers, manufacturing and field technicians, fuel cell and polymer scientists, and commercial staff, which expected to continue with an average of two new starters per week. That means the scale up of the company as a whole, is being ramped up significantly. This should be enough to see us break the pound barrier and stay there. Next few days/weeks will be very interesting.
@MIKODX regarding the fundraise, did you miss these?
ABB contributed about 10% of the amount raised.

DJ79 - No I didn't miss those, I've been holding AFC shares for over four years now, so I'm fully aware of what is going on in the company. We all know about the 10% invested by ABB in the Placing. If you READ the RNS it clearly states that AFC finished the first half of the year much stronger with a cash balance of £61.6m (HY 2020: £2.8m). The Placing only generated £32M, so we've generated an extra £28M.
We will have to assume that the extra income was generated either from further investments by ABB, Extreme-e, Julich, or from one of the other various partnerships were involved with. With so many partnerships, it wont be long before demand outstrips supply for AFC products. AFC are now looking much stronger in the green energy sector.
There was cash in the bank from the previous placing
Thanks for straightning that Oggs, I was getting this years and last years Placings mixed up. That would explain the extra cash.
“Fully aware what’s going on” but missed £28m. This signifies a lot of what’s wrong with this forum.
I’ve read the results three times.
1: If you’re an investor, don’t sell.
2: There are further sectors which the company hadn’t considered for deployment of its tech, but now is.
3: My absolute honest held belief is that the re-rate will be quick and significant. This company is professional and understands the market very well. 4: It is ahead of the competition by 12 to 18 months.
5: Ignore SP dips (some of you were getting a bit antsy last week)
6: Patience is King.
7: If I could buy more I would.
AaronJ - You probably didn't have a clue what was being said until Oggs said his piece. Didn't hear you utter a word. Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it. Now come on, although it may be mentally challenging for you, do you have anything positive to offer to this forum except trolling?
MIKODX - Take a look at my post history and you’ll see that I only typically comment when someone says something totally stupid, like your comment earlier. You arrogantly proclaimed to know everything about AFC due to how long you have been invested, and yet you missed a monumental bit of financial information. That was my point, and I’m sticking to it.
My contribution is to ask people to keep holding…oh and to keep track of the company’s balance sheet a bit closer.
You have to see the funny side when ITM and CWR are outperforming AFC when they have had no news and AFC has had a tremendously encouraging update. Somehow, the seller(s) still have shares to offload at this 60/62p range but after weeks of this it surely can't go on much longer!
Really can not understand anyone selling at this price...after 2 months of virtual silence, we get the blockbuster out of the blue, and peeps are selling for a few pennies profit...absolute mugs or day traders, either way i will not be selling until i see £s profit...as i recall the abb news recieved a muted response on the day and then motored on...anyways the future looks bright the future looks AFC!!!..glalth.
Hi jhonboy…..I like many here have been invested in AFC for many years. I bought and sold to take a profit or increase their holding. I’ve bought at 5p to 20p in recent times and recently bought a brand new motorhome from some profit.
Don’t think I’m a mug or a day trader, but what I do know is AFC has allowed me to buy my better half’s dream before we haven’t got the health to do it! As you say the futures bright! Hope you profit well from it.
no disrespect intended tetro...my point was the sp has been hovering around the 60p mark for 2 months..ie plenty of time to sell a few if so inclined..why sell after a great rns like that?
btw my favorite bit was this statement...........The Directors are working with advisors and partners to establish the best means by which the Company will be able to disclose details of its order book and its commercial pipeline in order to provide confidence to the market of the Company's prospects......good times hold tight!!!!
Fuelcell, I don’t think itm and Cwr are doing anything of the sort, they are both far higher percentage down than AFC since the start of the blood bath on the sector, in fact they are almost 50% down and we are only about 25%
AfC have held up well, I would Of been happy being above 50P before The next boom, and here we are over 60P and steady away, good times ahead I dont Even care if it’s next year at this stage, safest investment there is, New factory looks amazing! Good luck all
Yes Jhonboy, that statement really stood out for me too.
Roll on H2
AaronJ - Just as I thought, nothing positive to add to the Forum except trolling.
Do one you obnoxious muppet.
MIKODX - Call me whatever names make you feel better. It matters little to me. And no, i'll stay right here and continue to point out stupidity when I feel like it. But I think i've succeeded here. I'm willing to bet that you'll put more thought into your posts...certainly the ones where you claim to know everything about AFC.
Aaron. As your sole purpose, seemingly, is to act as a judge and arbiter of posts concerning their factual correctness (or otherwise), I'm mightily impressed by your time management. With so many AIM companies, so many billboards and so many subjective comments to attend to....you must be very efficient? Our very own unpaid 'in-house' editor, so we can all become more accurate...just like you!
AaronJ - Just checked your post history and just as I thought.................your a muppet.
Now be gone.
Quizzical. I'm pleased that you're impressed, thank you for the feedback. You may think that my sole purpose is to act as a judge, but you'd be wrong. I'm here for genuine reasons, but sadly wading through the tripe trotted out on a daily basis is difficult. You're free to think or say anything you like about me, if it makes you feel better (just like our friend MIKODX), but expect people to sometimes question if/when you say something epically arrogant and stupid.
So anyway, continue to hold AFC and be patient. Or maybe we should whinge about lack of news or miss a whopping £28m investment!
MIKODX - It's "you're", but fine.
And no. I'm right here, laughing at your grammar.
AaronJ - I'm seriously not going to waste anymore of my precious time on this troll, much better things to be getting on with. From here on now, speak to the hand.
No probs MIKODX. Think before you post next time. And the next time you profess to know everything…make sure you get your facts correct first.
