With the oil price so low it really us a buyers market. It should be quite easy for our BOD to now find a project needing circa £5m to complete or improve production. They may even be able to pick up some cheap producing gas assets from a struggling oil and gas company. The other option is to invest our circa £5m on part of a project to gain free carry status until production. We have the capital to run the company and buy some tasty producing assets.
All the more for management to spend imho
I agree Tiptop, definitely in a better position than most with the current Oil Price, maybe we'll pick up Sound for cheap in the coming months haha.
Coming back in here and rightly so. Our current market cap well below cash value. An offer from Kosmos would see this fly :-)
Said this is the best company on the AIM but in these markets having money to invest puts you in a very strong position. This company is not going out of business with that much cash sat in the bank. How many other AIM stocks can say that.
Was last count but due to exchange rates this will now be worth closer to £11m if it's still being held in American dollar.
dont want to labour the point but it still costs once you have acquired these assets the oil barrel price makes it a no goer it's not worth the costs in uk alone you need oil price to be 70 to 80 dollars to make it viable anyway I wish you luck I'm not in Antrim so will leave it at that everyone one of us need luck especially in this busines
Fare thee well Antrim. I hope investors here can still hope to keep their head above the lapping waves as the oil price sinks lower........................ 'Who bids the mighty ocean deepI, t's own appointed limits keep, O hear us when we cry to Thee For those in Peril on the sea'. Crude............good luck all.
I said it had "little effect" not no effect. With money in the bank the upside effect is far outweighed by the down. We need to buy assets and there will be plenty of cheap ones around. Not being a producing company pays in times of such low oil prices !!
find it interesting you don't believe oil price as any effect on aey oil price will see 30 dollars before it rises again by then many companies will have gone to the wall all imho
Kosmos will not want to allow our asset to be given away as they've spent millions on it already !!!!
Maybe time for Kosmos to buy us for £10m and get themselves a bargain and more acreage in the Irish quarter for free !!!
The company will cut overheads easily, most companies on AIM have no money in bank and no overheads. We can pick up some bargain producing assets very easily in this market. Kosmos can have already stated they have no plans to shelve their Irish drills as the have plenty in the bank and their income is hedged !!!
Think Antrim have missed a great chance ! Ten Million, and the oil price reducing by the day ? What now.
You do not the cash is eroding fairly quickly don't you? And how does the low oil price not affect AEY? Is there a definite drill date? If not then it will be shelved.
For our £10m to pick up some great bargains. We will probably be able to buy sound in a few weeks for £10m. There will certainly be many fledgling oil companies desperate for funding. How many small AIM companies have any money in the bank, they can only dream of £10m.
Their offer didn't even cover our £10m cash position so they hadn't attributed any value to our assets before. More like Sound was no longer in a position to make an offer. The very low oil price has little effect on Antrim, our main asset is in the bank with Ireland and fyne thrown in for free. Our current MC values us at less than £5m !!
Will there be another offer on the cards?
interesting wording...
What do you guys think of Antrims management? Seeing that the market cap is half the cash balance, is the shareprice a reflection of the ineffectiveness of the management? There is a bit of movement, do you guys think that will make it better?
Should be a interesting year here, surely the SP should be creeping up just on the strength of cash at bank. Not many in a better position than us at the minute.
Antrim will be able to pick up struggling small oil stocks for a song. Lots of potential here.
MC Less than £5m.......and yet Antrim has more than £10m in the bank plus 2 good assets !!!
