Muck: Charting seems just as much a contributor to price movements these days as it is a measure of it.' - You're not wrong there. You'll invariable see somebody ramping a share showing a chart going up, and someone de-ramping showing a chart going down. A cynic might suggest it's the same chart turned upside down of course - but I couldn't possibly comment!!
TA can only ever try to explain what happened; what WILL happen is in the lap of the Gods.....
Interesting thanks. I’ll have to do some more reading!
Imagine 75 years ago. You have a stock with normal price movements and so, according to pure theory, it should be possible to predict which way the crowd will turn. But nobody knows the technical indicators because there’s no tools to do it. So absent that knowledge, would the crowd still turn the same way as they might today?
Charting seems just as much a contributor to price movements these days as it is a measure of it. But then that’s a bit moot if all you really want to know, regardless of why, is which way the herd will turn. That’s the real value of charting imo.
Morning Muck,
All TA/Charting is, is crowd psychology at work.
If you believe crowds are predictable then TA can prove helpful.
Charts are just a graphical representation of the crowd.
But like everything its not fool-proof, so its then becomes an odds game. What is more likely to happen. And to help improve the odds of making the right forecast, various algo's based on the SP action ("Indicators"", are overlaid.
TA, at best has mixed reactions from investors but my experience is that very very few people who use TA have the discipline to use it as intended and effectively.
Cheers
ABDX could easily launch a takeover of MHC if the share price rises using a paper exercise as equity. This could prove a smart move and offer 8m to ABDX which MHC has in the bank.
This could only be done if share price to a suitable level. MHC share price currently values it at 6.5m with over 20 products and 8m plus in the bank.
They are both in the same field and a ideal fit for each to en corporate the business models
Any thought .
For awareness, from a gov publication on 3/3/24
“ The Chancellor is also confirming that companies will soon be able to apply for a share of the £520 million funding for life sciences manufacturing announced at Autumn Statement, with competitions for large scale investments opening for expressions of interest this summer and medium and smaller sized companies in the autumn. The fund is designed to build resilience for future health emergencies such as influenza pandemics and capitalise on the UK’s world-leading research and development.”
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/360-million-to-boost-british-manufacturing-and-rd
Don’t know if this is something ABDX might consider.
Thanks!
I’ve never understood how price action in and of itself can tell you what’s most likely to happen. For me SP movements are simply a function of supply/demand; what happens based on technical considerations is almost self fulfilling because there will be a weight of enthusiasts, in our case identifying resistance has been broken, who together weight trading to either the demand or supply side based on that technical indication and so drive the price in the direction they all “predicted”. But I’m sure that’s just naive/ignorant!
Let’s see what tomorrow brings
Hi Muck,
its an interesting point you raise.
The point of TA is that in its purest form, you don't need to know anything about the company as the price action itself tells you what is most likely to happen next.
So, if I came to this chart say, tomorrow morning at 7:00am I would see its broken above a resistance point and potentially could/would take a position. I would not be aware of the UT.
So in answer to your question... It would be the closing price that was relevant, how ever it came about.
Wyndrum, at the close we had a spread of 8.6 - 9.5, so the mid price was 9.05. This was the case even though dummy sells gave a 9.375 quote.
We only closed at 9.5 because of the uncrossing trade (the auction was interesting BTW with plenty of interest on the buy side). So, unless we get another RNS tomorrow, we will open at 9.05 and not 9.5.
Can I ask, from a charting perspective (which I know nothing about), is it the actual 9.05 close or the 9.5 UT that's relevant?
Thanks in advance
Another couple of quick RNS's would be great..
Well the close is at 9.5p, odds have increased of further rises to come in the near term. (imo dyor)
ExpertTrader - I don't mind you constantly being a dikhead - but can you go and be a dikhead on the GDR BB. This is ABDX - the clue is in the arrangement of the letters!

0 comments in Genedrive in the last 30 days xD
"Get into Genedrive soon though, we are looking at no more than a month or so for news which would take that share back to 10-12p minimum. Thats 3-4x its current SP ;) "
Why don't you share this great judgement there? Is it because they will laugh at you 😂 😂😂 😂
@experttrader you should spend more time discussing your joke of a stock genedrive.
looking over at genedrive though, pretty depressing down there, someone claiming to be down £120k, another down £73k. why don't you give them the same talk that you are giving us?
expert at chatting ****e
9.25p is a bit of resistance level and here we are at 9.25p.
If we can close above it then that would suggest further rises are on the way.
It then all gets a bit choppy but the next target would be a close at or above 11p.
There have been a couple of false dawns, but hopefully the buy/sell action confirms a belief that maybe there really will be no more dilution....

RE: Expecting an RNS wave and back to 30p into next year as more hospitals adopt5 Dec 2023 11:30
This will gradually creep back upto around 18-21p before even a talk of any so called 'placing' IF we even have a placing. Finds can be raised and generated in many ways.
We will have another 2 positive RNS's imo before even considering anything of such manner.
If you wanted to buy GDR at its lowest- the ship just sailed (its still a very low price to buy regardless).
But we aint seeing the 5p ever again- the future look too positive :)
GDR CURRENTLY 3.25P ..... T*SSER
Disappointing to see all the early gains evaporate.
