Silver sets a new 11-year high @ > $30

"Experts" LOL - you pro clowns really do make me larf :D
Go watch some more daytime TV mate.
Have to admit that the effect of real interest rates being high had occurred to me for a non interest baring asset, though obviously needs to be looked at from a worldwide perspective, and not an individual country, where the government/ their central bank may influence the disparity. Every year we get 'its going to $10,000 an ounce' , 'its going to fall to $1,000 an ounce'. At the end of the day, the rain will fall, the sun will shine, the trains will run (mostly, though not always in the UK) and gold will be whatever it will be. That's my thought for the day. I got rid of my BT shares first thing so I'm happy :)
It’s not so much what gold is worth, but who is buying it right now?
The explosion in the gold price we were looking for happened in bitcoin instead.
We own physical gold because we do not trust Government, banks or institutions between those two entities. Would you keep your savings in dollars, euros or pounds?
As a long term strategy, I'm happy to hold physical and also gold mining shares for my pension.
Whatever, bonker99 me old sunshine, but evidently I'm not the only one out of mind...

‘ then you're out of your mind.’
I think you have hit the nail on the head there.
$2.7k/$34 this year mate.
If you think $2.5k is the limit for gold in the Basel III era then you're out of your mind.
Hi bonker99. Thanks for your rapid response and I thoroughly enjoyed all your additional " translations" of previous dialogue. Having said that, It ain't just Kansas. I'm over 1000 miles east and we were in the cellar yesterday for a while during local tornado warnings. They seem to be everywhere together with weird rainfall patterns, droughts and all sorts. But then, of course we have lots of folk who don't accept rising temperatures and think Covid was just a Chinese-made flu! (Funny how most of the believers are MAGA folk!)
Anyway back to gold & silver (not Franz Lehar's version). Yep, both are quite well up recently but over the last decades one could have met disaster at times with several tumblings over a short period. Without a crystal ball I would be very wary but right now with a rising economy and a stable USD (in spite of Putin and Xi hoping to replace the dollar by their own currency) I would think that gold may reach $2500 but certainly not the $5K - $6K range that some hopefuls on this blog have been suggesting. Biden has stopped sending bombs but your Cameron says he is continuing to ship out military stuff because (he says) it's just spare parts. We are a free country so our University Students are fully entitled to protest (of course without violence).
LOL
#Silver posts its highest daily close for 11 years.

Going where exactly, bonker99 ? I don't do Twitter (or X). If you are anticipating a gold rush going into orbit anytime soon - forget it. It's been said so many times on posts here over the last decade (and not just by Dr. KS). By all means follow the dreamworld of kingworldnews, Motley Tool, British Bullsh*t et all. I would compare most of their utterings to the bloke who tells you to put ya shirt on that certain winner of the Derby! (lmao). Gold and silver has been creeping very slowly upwards. But look at the years it has been taking so far for the biggest and most experienced giants in the mining world to start nearing the the share prices they enjoyed at least half a decade ago. Some have even divested themselves of "sure winners" like the vaunted Hod Marden.
It's really very simple. DYOR. Check out the real world news out there especially what is happening to commodities, shortages and prime needs of the folk far down below the handful of billionaires. That's what it's all about. Gold and Silver blocks are for political leverage. Little pieces are either for personal adornment or to bargain with when you need favors and regular currency is worthless. If you need guidance - speak nicely to Warren Buffet!
Gold/Silver are going chaps ...

Well just arrived in Ankara, unfortunately just as they were loading my case onto the bus the back window popped and they had to send a replacement bus.
Pleasurable journey got talking to some Romanian yr 11 students who were on their way to Ankara for part of their computer science course as AI was their field. Got talking about lots of subjects including gold mines, energy fossil fuel and nuclear and I told them to read Robert Kiyosaki rich dad poor dad.
Well just in Istanbul, had my morning chai at Kadikoy kutaphane overlooking the bhosphorus. Getting a kamil koc bus to Ankara now.
I’ve got this warm golden buzz.
I used to do the same as you PAUL1DEANO in the 80's. I considered my own JVs in 1. AU goldmines 2. leather goods.....sadly I seemed too busy here in the UK! Oh and one for you Noel et anyone else....https://billholter.com/2024/05/11/3427/

Sounds good. Enjoy.
‘In brief, what is the USP for investing here? Turkey, so considerable political risk?’
Just about to board a Pegasus Jet to Istanbul, hopefully going Trabzon and will hire a car. If I have time I’m going to look at this Hot Maden corridor where Salinbas is.

Will he be proved right? I think so.
Still interested here but have no clue about their PF.
That PFS NPV today underwrites c£10m of the mcap but what else is here?
I can never make head nor tail of each production update re who owns what share of which etc.
P1D .....do you ever invest in large mining companies? Every time I go looking for interesting small exploration companies you seem to be there already!
In brief, what is the USP for investing here? Turkey, so considerable political risk? What offsets the risk? Where are we on the Lassonde Curve?
Some of us have been in for 8 to 10 years, there is a lot of grumbling on here as the SP hit 6p and then big changes happened as we reduced the size of our holding in Turkish operations.
However this seems to be the right time to invest if you missed all that, good luck.
This came on to my radar after TW 'tipped' it as one (of three) gold tips for 2024 in early April. The buy price was then 2.8p. Managed to buy a few recently at around 2.4p and happy to see how the projects develop...
True looks like a stable long term pursuit with many opportunities,
' from a single, staged, open-pit with processing primarily via CIL, at an all-in sustaining cost ("AISC") of US$1,144 per ounce.'
That is a nice figure to see as well.
Find me a better junior gold outfit on AIM?
Positive update....
Not encouraging trading (ask 2.5675p and bid 2.4020p)
