Here is hoping success on the drill bit is not dampened by coronavirus hysteria and whole market slump. Be just 88e sp luck.
Trying to make sense of 19.24. Does anyone know where the post is from fishfingers? :-( VGLA
Hi Lef, 19:24, "So, while the bulletin boards are free to use, there is almost no point in using them". Pray tell us why you use it /them then m'dear. YOU must feel there is a point..........
Not fair to use a monthly chart I feel.
For example, I have had a look at Jan 13 to Dec 13 daily chart for Amazon with volume and the useful "on-balance volume" indicator displayed. There are quite few peaks and troughs in this year but of course there is a good rise overall between year-start and year-end. Have a look at the daily volume, or better still the on-balance volume , and you well come to a different conclusion. I have!
Anyway, Lefkosia, we have agreed to disagree on most aspects of charting/TA. We will continue to do that I know, so don't feel the need to reply to this! It will bore everybody else, whereas at the moment the only thing I want to bore at the moment on this 88e-board is an oil-well !!
good evening fishfingers

Those who own the bulletin boards don’t care about the actual content of the posts, because they’re not monetising the boards. What they monetise is the volume of traffic on the site, which they then sell in the form of advertisements and impressions. So, while the bulletin boards are free to use, there is almost no point in using them.
perhaps you will now desist from inferring i get some financial reward for my lse chat board. pity as views since inception
are now 99,158.
I believe the link below should settle the question of whether volume of shares traded has any relevance to a share's price

The CR (Cash Raise) was quite simply a way to find and (I believe ring fence) next years operating money. 3.5% dilution. Thats it. All done. Over.
Lack of news is something we agree on. Very slow and little official news. Have to go hunting off on websites. V Poor.
All company individualistic operating "norms".
Wish you the best with it.
Some climb to 2pps by the end of the week.
Good post V111 Jas, i have to agree this is the last chance, should oil not flow here i don't see a way back. I like many others hope charlie one proves commercial, been invested here for 5yrs. All my bets now hinge on 88e to recoup loses over the years. Fingers crossed the wait now pays off.
Thanks V11JAS, this is a great post for many reasons. A shame we do not have more level headed posters on this bb, providing factual and informative views! I do read some of the posts but I agree most of them are fluff and I'll ultimately now focus on the drilling program in progress and the information being presented out of that.
~~~ AND ~~~
The very best of luck to all the long term decent supporters of 88E .
I only skip through this BB now and again . Hardly worth reading and not worth posting . Many of the valued long term posters also seem to have disappeared .
Coping with the timescales here ; the crazy share price gyrations , the drill disappointments , the relentless CR`s , culminating in the eye watering shares issue and now it seems a touch of `manipulation` is bad enough , but , all that is manageable IF you still believe . ~ BUT ~
Coping with the destruction of what was once a friendly , informative BB where industry knowledgeable posters were happy to share their information is much less palatable .
The unintelligible Irrelevant drivel from that Creepy Crawly of Croydon and the spivery double speak from the secondhand Harrow wheel barrow salesman , plus some nondescript opportunistic new comers have , imo , ruined this BB . Unfortunate and very sad .
All have contributed to suspicion and sentiment destruction in the Company .
However as a consequence of his management DW must accept a large portion of culpability for the malaise that currently surrounds the Company .
Many have indicated that they intend to `Top Slice` at the first sign of success . This suggests that many are both nervous , disillusioned and probably overexposed .
The lack of very little positive news commentary has not helped . Surely after all the negative criticism DW has received in the past , he could have performed a little better as we approach this particular `Spud` . On the other hand , this is PMO`s drill , and I wonder if it is they , who are managing both press release and more importantly tightly controlling enthusiasm because ; if Charlie is a huge success they will most likely wish to close their options on B and C , and , not at some wildly inflated price . My `Spider Senses` tingling , I wonder if it is PMO that is behind what appears to be a suppression of enthusiasm and the controlled management of the SP .
The last CR was probably the last straw , there has effectively been no recovery and huge criticism of this `unsolicited offer`. Very poor judgement there by DW , imo .
At the moment all this probably presents as a negative investment proposition , I`m not sure if there will be any FOMO and it seems to me that we will have to wait for the finalised drill results in April (probably another reason why people are not rushing to buy .)
Despite my disappointment I will continue to hold until then because :
!. I believe that Charlie WILL prove to be a commercial success .
2. As `smokin `correctly posted earlier : "Managing Director Dave Wall has signaled in the past that the sale process for the asset — on success — will start pretty much straight away."
IF ~ DW `s management on these issues fails , I`ll sell . I trust he will be as good as his word .
IF ~ DW wins , I will wait to see how the other projects work out .
As I mentioned a few months ago , this is the `Last Chance Saloon` for me here , and I suspect for quite a few others .
Lef you really are a piece of work.
I vowed to never reply to one of your posts again, but since you have attempted a character assassination tonight I think it's only fair:
"the volume issue is old hat suported by numerouss charts " Since you seem to have an almost passionate need to read my posting history I'm sure you will find the MIT post where I convincingly put an end to this discussion
'My original comment 'I have 100 million shares' was a sarcastic remark. everyone here got the point apart from you it seems not sure why you think this is worth quoting, thought it is obvious. Anyone can claim anything on here. Interesting that you fail to re-print my reply where I said I'm happy to publish my contract notes if you are too... I still hold around 14 million. Anyone who wants to see, reply here with your email address and I will send you the PDFs
'When this moves it moves fast. Don't assume you will be able to get back in on the rise, you will get your fingers burnt.' - I stand by that. I was here during the icewine 1 spud, you obviously were not
"cw bangs on about volume drives price but posts this gem contradicting it"
'You are right, 8m shares is nothing - I know LThs here who have more than that. - crazy when to think that todays price change moved on less volume than some people here hold.'
I think you will find that the above comments reinforce, my argument.
Don't bother replying, this was for the board, not you.
I think the suitor is already there.. PMO may want the whole conventional portfolio should Charlie come in good. Rather than share with us. But who i knows what other bids that could create. GLA.
22.15 post shaa
Thanks shaa again great read and as said come out after market hours
After the last few years presentations and speaking with Dave his idea was always to prove oil there and able to flow and sell on ASAP
I’m also of the opinion a potential suitor is waiting in the wings and lined up already on a good flow rate
Just my view
Let’s hope for some rise from here and an rns of drill on pad end of week
Good luck all
April timw
11,400 metres?? May get results by Xmas then!
Interesting part shaa,
Managing Director Dave Wall has signalled in the past that the sale process for the asset — on success — will start pretty much straight away.
It is important to note that 88E is not aiming to undertake a capital intensive operation in bringing an oil field into production, as it is a nimble explorer that sticks to its strengths.
Thanks Jiddy, a good read for newbies and a reminder to LTH.
Article by Offshore Engineering, a popular media outlet and was 5hrs ago, after UK markets closed.
Might act as a catalyst for publicity and hopefully SP rise.
Nice find shaa.
88E is on the verge of game changing seven prospect play - are you a believer or a naysayer.
Let the games begin!
