Ridiculous, how to keep crashing the share price. Will there even be a dividend at this rate.
Someone bought 300,000 shares twenty past ten Friday. Looking good.
OK so the results are being delayed a few weeks which doesn't look bad, It still looks like they will make about £9m ebita and the same as they said it would be weeks ago so it doesn't look as if things have got any worse.
The also say in their last RNS
Dividend and publication of results
As noted in the interim results report issued in January 2023, the Board will consider the level of dividend for FY23 alongside completion of the audited final results, which will be announced on Friday 21 July 2023.
So does that mean we might get 1p-2p Divi ?
Surely these shares are much too cheap. !!!!!!
Interesting profanity filter on my previous post. The missing letters are "kcoc" backwards.

"wrks say they are in-line with previous update so roughly £10m net cash, £10m net ebitda, £20m mkt and will meet forecasts, looks cheap, and that stronger £ and lower shipping must help going fwd as it should help many consumer stock imo"
Next and Shoezone both reporting strong sales in recent months, as well as increased margins due to decreasing costs. A small increase in profit could add a lot here.

Discount retailer TheWorks (WRKS) is trading more positively than the market expected and profits are looking up for 2024, says Downing’s Judith MacKenzie.
MacKenzie holds the seller of books, stationery, games, arts and craft in her £36m Downing Strategic Micro-Cap (DSM) investment trust and in a recent update reported a rise in the share price after ‘a full-year trading update that was more positive than the market expected’.
‘While online sales declined, the physical stores reported impressive like-for-like growth of 7.5%, with total sales improving to over £300m,’ MacKenzie said.
‘Adjusted Ebitda was expected to be in line at £9m. The outlook, while cautious of consumer headwinds, reaffirmed FY24 profit expectations.’

I bought a few thousand just past open today 31.3 these were really cheap after yesterday's orchestrated sell off yesterday, between 3&4 these are cut very cheap for bargain hunters gl
I think they are going to do a buy back in the not too distant future. I don't see this company staying on the LSE for much longer. IMO.
They have said they are reducing the credit facility. So they are sufficiantly solvent. They also said they have plenty of cash. They said that they would be looking at the dividend payment to be considered in July. The only broker interested suggested a likley target being 69p . We all lost a lot which seems to be about the Cyber incident March 2022 there were never any numbers in an RNS about how much that cost? another issue seems to be why they had a 10m loss and then a 9m profit. Perhaps if the company will be a bit more specific with the numbers it might avoid all the panic selling and give a clearer picture how it is, oh well good luck to all who held. Harry.

These will be on the way back to 69p in no time.

The Works is at position #41, up from #48 last year.
Works shops are always busy when I walk past. On Saturday the Dalton Park branch was choc a block!
Unless the works have got their pricing strategy wrong I can see a really good H2. I have topped up on the recent dips. All in my opinion of course. As they say long and strong!
Good luck to all holders.
instos can directly bid market makers a price -and if the MM is derisking/scared/under pressure they will often accept a low bid or high offer (depending if they're long or short) if it's for good size
DMA (Direct Market Access).
I agree - I have never understood how some traders could get great prices on volume but when I tried the price was higher? They must be favouring people.
This is so cheap if it can continue on. It IPO'd at over 5 times the current market cap in 2018 and had considerable debt and fewer stores.
I bought the 2500 (U) at 29.2p so I don't know how someone managed to buy 100,000 at 29p well the market makers seem to fleece the minions in my opinion. It can't have been a sell because the best you could get was 28.6p quite interesting I think we will all agree.
I know many CARD holders report on how busy their local CARD stores are, so thought i would do the same for WRKS.
So when I was in town (in the south east) yesterday I popped into my local WRKS with my daughter and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of people in there and paying at the till.
It was not packed but still in my 5mins in there at least 10 different customers purchased items, with a steady flow of traffic. The shop is definitely less full i.e. less lines of stock being sold, but what was there seemed good to me. My daughter got 2 books (i paid!) and she said the range was very much in. So all in a positive report, and I was £15 lighter leaving the shop.
- CARD was busy as well.
All the best
