hi Mirasol SOLG's CEO recently came up for re-election - he was on a 3 year contract. I don't know how things normally work in small-caps but just wondered about SS
"When is Sanderson up for re-election "
As CEO I don't think that's how it works - he's there until he goes - but no-one has ever tried to replace him.
When is Sanderson up for re-election ? These things tend to concentrate a CEO's mind on SP performance!
How to kick. S. S out ? Look like he own this company
Was thinking longer term, given the time it takes to bring on stream some of these very big projects.
Law of unintended consequences, so many well-intentioned initiatives produce results running counter to those hoped for.
Denmark won’t be issuing any new drilling licenses and this could be the start of Europe wide action.... I don’t think UKOG actually produces enough oil to benefit from rising prices. We still have the whole of the Middle East oil production.... and if the US and Iran start talking again then we may see more oil exported from Iran which could well keep prices low.
But if investment in major oil projects diminishes, the effect on the oil price could well be to boost it.
I’m really not sure about investing in any oil & gas company at the moment. Some of the major companies are moving towards renewables and we may see major changes in not just UK gov policy but worldwide policy changes after COP26 in Nov.
Any company in the energy industry that is not actively looking at expanding its “portfolio” in to the renewable arena is not necessarily working in the best interests of their shareholders.
Swizzy abbot , and what's your biggest achievement again....please tell us that story again uncle swizzy...please..please, oh come on, i love that story....please, please
I dunno. I think I've lost out on opportunities in the past because I thought AIM companies could go bust - e.g. Alba, Angus. This generally seems not to be true in my experience - they just place and dilute or take on debt. So I don't think UKOG surviving is much of a feat. Actually providing a return though, that would be a feat.
Thx Stu,
You too (and all).
And I agreed with you; Seeing UKOG survive the last year may be their biggest achievement.
Stu,
I've been in and out of this share for nearly four years (longer than I've posted here).
I have been positive and negative about it and bought/sold accordingly.
Just because I have no shares in it today, doesn't mean that I won't in the future.
Currently I think there is only a 5% chance of that, hence my earlier response.
( I don't delude myself that my posts have ANY influence on the market, or that any other poster can tell me what, or whether, I post).
:)
.ocelot, very fair comments sir
UKOG's decline to its current very low level has been a very protracted one.
The merest hint of the possibility of success in Turkey should lead to a market re-rating.
How far that would take the share price depends upon the extent of success.
On the evidence today, "UKOG future" is an oxymoron.
Overall I'm negative (recently sold my remaining stock).
I'd say there's a 5% chance of a turnaround.
Not impossible, just not likely.
Valuations depend solely on what any future looks like.

I bought in here, twice, 1.98p & 0.35... So one of those things. Locked in but I have no need to sell.
Never sold one share. Yes I may have been crazy not too.... But my question is what would be the true value of ukog if turkey is a bit of a blinder and surprises the market / investors? Also do you think ukog can turn this around with further exploration and investment abroad if not the UK?
Could ukog ever see 20, 30, 40p plus one day? I'm talking even another ten years time... Or more. What does everyone think?
