still finished 79p in toronto.
A slightly disappointing day, but we have still moved ahead against a difficult market, so we should not be too disappointed in the light of this.
I could not agree more about the importance of Natural Gas and I know the Centrica Energy trading team pretty well and have been a member of the Energy Utilities Alliance, so I know the main players.
TXP should out perform the market very well, there are some very good opportunities for TXP to shine, long term.
Natural Gas is the only commodity that is UP today! Look at your spread bet commodities page, a sea of red with only one blue.
Very good news.
Not totally off topic, if there is some huge improvement in combined charge rate/capacity/longevity/price of batteries then this could impact an oil company! And Tesla is having its "Battery day" tomorrow. May push covid off the news.
But I still feel that NG is going to remain important, maybe even more important.
SP is off the highs, probably general market sentiment.
Dana, batteries with a 10c charge rate have been around for a very long time, even 60c batteries have been readily available for several years. Fast charging has not been limited by the C rate for quite some time but by the available infrastructure that can supply sufficient current to charge large packs at that rate. It is the global infrastructure that is required before these things can be convenient enough for mainstream adoption and that is some way off yet!
Battery manufactures will produce more batteries for grid support and regional storage than for use in vehicles to enable vehicles to be fast charged.
Sorry for the off topic folks!
Thanks for having a look at it Tobin. You may be missing the point slightly. The Piech is merely a demonstration platform/testbed. If you were thinking of buying an EV would you prefer one that can recharge sufficiently for 300 miles in 6 minutes or would you prefer to wait for 3 or 4 hours? This point will not be wasted on buyers no on the manufacturers of electric vehicles throughout the world. Names like apple Microsoft and Google spring to mind. It will never catch on, you're probably right.
I looked at desten.com, wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole. They apparently have invented some super fast charging battery that avoids heat problems but still has multiple recharges in the 1000s; so what are they going to do with this? Start building super cars?
There’s another use for lithium than batteries.
Stick with TXP, good things come to those that wait.
Dana - With a hit at Chinook, better tax environment and a good gas agreement, Coho online in Q4 and Cascadura deep drilled in Q4 (and no need for more loans) I honestly can't see management/board selling at this point. With a hit in either Cas Deep or chinook we're surely looking at 3 CAD/1,8 CAD - if both hits (or Cas Deep turns out to be a massive oil monster) we're looking at much more. And Royston probably has the greatest potential - so selling before that gem is drilled would require a tasty exorbitant premium for shareholders to accept an offer.
81p after another look, looking good for Monday if somebody knows more.
$1.38 close is 80p
DW, do you live in a different time zone or are you a night worker?
I guess I also shouldn’t rule out insomniac. ??
Buffy
Yes, it looks like the price is being held in a very narrow channel, it has been for weeks, as previously observed by many.
The last time that I saw this was in the Rockrose share price, for weeks before there was a 'surprise' takeover/MBO.
I would be disappointed if this happens, it is legalised theft imho, but stock market and Company Law rules permit it to happen.
Funnily enough the first time I saw this was the KNOC takeover of Dana Petroleum, where it was bought for twice the annual income. My then hero Tom Cross, was indeed extremely.
Cross.
See what I did there?
Dana
Sounds like someone chucked 250k shares out for sale in Canada at $1.39. Killed any further rise for today perhaps but it's certainly getting towards the business end here.
$1.39 Canadian. = 81.4p UK. That’s more than just a good mood for the day, that’s excited anticipation!
A nice move thus far in the US today, up to almost $1.04 for the moment.
$1.39 equates to 81p, seems to be getting stronger
