Yes, maybe Tesco are just covering all the bases, it is very hard to predict how things will be post coronavirus, but I think Tesco are in a good position..
mags265 , I am like you , I enjoy going to the supermarket and seeing the fresh foods , and making choices on appearance etc. Shopping in store does have its downside though , especially when I pass the chocolate bars and crisps . Will be interesting to see how things develop in the future . My daughter shops on line at Tesco , my son shops at Tesco in store , both are totally computer literate.
I'm not so sure, I think online shopping is the future, some will go back to the stores but I think people who were almost forced to shop online will stick with it, I'm guessing this is what tesco is banking on by taking on more staff.. personally I like to shop myself but online is very convenient.. I bought in today at 225p..
With the lock down and people still wary of going out , I can understand the surge in shopping on line , but when a vaccine emerges which is effective , I honestly think people will shop in store again , so relieved to be able to go out and choose their products physically and enjoy the renewed freedom . So what do you do with 16000 extra staff then ?
There been no other news, nor will there be, until the regulatory bodies (remember there are two sales and two regulators to overcome) make their decision.
Rosewall; A future price of 267p is a point where I have to make a decision whether to keep holding in the hope of the special dividend (Lotus sale) and timing of the normal dividend or dispose of say half`s of my shares depending on national & global events, news etc at that time. No doubt ,knowing my luck, none of it will happen anyway.
Anyone got news on the Lotus sale ?
Why 267p? Do you anything sensible to support your view?
Anyone seen this bit of news yet and any views on it.? Also anyone know when the Asian (lotus) sale will complete ?
I think I made a good choice investing in TESCO in March and always ready to buy more. I am now awaiting a good jump up to 267p within the next month since almost everything else seems to be too risky except Hargreaves Lansdown !
It is scary. You do the wrong thing for the right reasons. So be careful folks.

I can assure you the undertaking work related activity in your personal vehicle insured for personal use renders you uninsured and all that that implies. Speak to Plexus who will explain. Want to try it out, try doing fast food home delivery and wait for the Police to pull you over.
I wasn’t aware of the criminal offence I have committed from my store myself , and am not the only one as this has happened from time to time and still does very occasionally I may add , so the next time I’m aware this happens I shall put in a complaint, thank you for you advice rosewall xx

"The great Tesco shop staff to drop a couple of bags of shopping off on the way home (free deliveries)."
Explain please, taking into account the legal requirement for anyone doing any form of business in their personal vehicle to be insured for business insurance. Failure to take out business insurance for business related work is a criminal offence.
15p Rise on tesco staff doing the cleaning,If they could get the lorry drivers to load and unload there lorries. Maybe clean and service them as well.
The great Tesco shop staff to drop a couple of bags of shopping off on the way home (free deliveries).
Could see 250 by the end of the month...Just a thought ;-)
Tra 1 how's the chart looking any big drops...
They are not my favourite broker to say the least. I may be wrong , I will need to check it out, but I think they administer the share purchase schemes e.g savings accounts and the actual share purchase at , hopefully , discounted rates. These are all additional costs that has to be recovered in some way.
Agreed Clueless.
yawn not into share price predictions so boring
Probably safe investment I believe
the price is still 30p less then what it should be now ...…...suppose to be 260 to 270
has got good result and dividend paying stock
6.5p per share
My account was not credited with the final div, which was due for payment on 3 Jul 20. Can you please confirm you received final div and how much?
The next trading update is 7/10 and the ex divi date is 8/10 anyone know if Tesco has confirmed it is still paying the interim divi due in November?
My holding is just under 50k money wise if I sell with equiniti (not that I am going to )they will charge 1% yet I can transfer my holding to my Halifax account for 10 quid and pay a flat rate of 12.50 saves me about 450 quid that's better in my pocket dont seem great value for colleagues what do you think Rosewall?
All that has happened is that this share has been walked down to around 212 so that the institutions can soak up a large wedge of shares at a low price. They are now walking it up again so when they do get the special dividend, the share price increase of late will offset the reduction in NAV / consolidation.
Well something needs to happen this is snoozing along but upwards mind as October SAYE date looms you’d think this will hit 240( pure conspiracy mind but seems to go up around Oct)
