"I think that you will find that this is just the shares they lent to shorters being returned."
I am no expert but from previous observations these sort of fluctuations in holdings are the result of institutions lending to shorts. I honestly have no idea of the terms that they lend on or if there is a fixed time period.
Lots of things that go on in financial markets seem a little weird and dare I say corrupt - they defy logic and work against genuine investors - shorting is top of the list.
JR, this share doesnt need any deramping. The BOD has been doing all the work for them.
Even members of deramp crews get annual leave I would presume? possibly that combined with some off sick? guessing they will be recruiting new members and training them up as I type this, I'm sure some new ones will appear soon enough!
Which post was that then Trion :O)
Jacko Citigroup did not really own them - they lost their right to dividends for starters, and the rights to vote using those shares, hence the RNS. It reads like they expect to make big decisions soon and want a bigger say in where we go.
Sounds good if there is a choice coming up .... hope the options are going to be attractive or beautiful .... a good wife swapping party perhaps?
Modsto????
Chilts "I think that you will find that this is just the shares they lent to shorters being returned."
That was my take on it too.
Does it mean that Citigroup demanded they be returned and as a consequence their voting rights increased?
The short seller merely stays in the same position but is indebted to different company who will replace Citigroup I guess?
Is it one transaction or two? The unknown source could transfer its loan direct to Citigroup on the shorters behalf, or to the shorter who then clears Citigroups deficit with those shares? Bloody stupid idea this short selling - should never be allowed imho. Bit like a swinger borrowing someone's wife to go to a wife swap?
LSE may have fixed the posting problem!
I won't have received a thank you from them if they sent one because BT remove email addresses if they are dormant for a certain period! The one I registered on LSE with disappeared years ago :O)
There you go , City Group read my post then .

Chilting,
