OT : Beamer21, that wasn't my sale - I intend to keep my holding long-term as I expect STM to be at 65p-70p reasonably quickly, and hopefully a lot more than that over time with acquisitions etc. Graham Neary, Paul Scott's small cap write-up partner, likes STM: http://www.stockopedia.com/content/small-cap-value-report-12-jan-2017-part-2-sdm-stm-gym-pmo-sgp-166428/ "STM (LON:STM) No. shares: 59.4m Market cap: £26m Trading Update Another "in-line" trading update (generally, I will cover trading updates more briefly than results statements, especially when they are in-line). The Board is pleased to announce that the Group has traded in line with market expectations of profit before tax of £2.7 million for 2016 (2015 actual: £2.7 million). Kudos to the company for quantifying market expectations in this announcement, rather than inviting readers to look it up somewhere else. Some positive sounds that growth might ramp up in future years, after the flat result in 2017: As was anticipated, the pricing initiative taken by the Board in the earlier part of the year has significantly increased the take-on of new business for its QROPS international pensions product with new policies for the second half of the year up by circa 50 per cent on the first half of the year and 27 per cent on the second half of 2015. As previously indicated, whilst this strategy resulted in a reduction in first year profitability, it does result in an increased level of recurring revenue for future years. This leaves STM well placed to deliver significant growth in revenue and profit in 2017. QROPS is a type of overseas pension scheme, which is a bread-and-butter product for STM (a cross-border financial services provider, catering to high-net-worths and corporates). Checking the STM website, I see they are offering a "zero establishment fee" on QROPS until March 2017 (and presumably until after then, if it is working?) Tolerance of short-term losses on customer acquisition and customer set-up is a key part of the competitive dynamic in some industries. It looks as if STM have realised that their business model still works with higher losses per customer on set-up. I have seen first-hand how some businesses will accept customers which won't become profitable unless they stick around for 5-6 years. That works sometimes with long-term products, e.g. with pensions and other financial policies which could be in force for several decades. STM shares look good value to me against profitability, and the business looks to be in pretty good shape. So I'm not sure what the "catch" is yet. There is usually a catch!"
Would like to be in but no funds for now. Well done holders - great day.
Did you decide to trade your 20,000 top up? I saw a late 20,000 trade
looking at rough calculations, fair value should be heading towards 70p
Finncap have a 65p price target (the price is now up to 48p). They're very positive and say STM is a "unique opportunity for investors to be able to buy this quality situation", given 50% growth this year to 5.9p EPS and with a 2p dividend. Worth noting also that STM should have a year end cash pile of around £6m-£7m even after the initial LCH acquisition payment (with some obviously required for regulatory requirements), against a £29m m/cap.
Finally in
Damn difficult to buy!
Rivaldo - I was just looking at this following this mornings positive update I also came to the same conclusions as you and will be adding today
I bought a very small holding here recently and then grabbed a further 20k first thing this morning. Good update this morning. Forecasts for this year after the recent acquisition are now for 5.9p EPS, with a 2p dividend. On that basis I can see a share price of at least 60p-65p if all goes well, compared to the current 42.5p. In addition, online this morning I could only buy a maximum 100 shares! Whereas I could sell my entire holding at a premium at 41.5p. So it looks like things are primed for further rises: Http://www.investegate.co.uk/stm-group-plc--stm-/rns/trading-update---notice-of-results/201701120700059402T/
Indeed you did sell to early fool
took profits - GLA , Part of me thinks I have sold way too early - time will tell !
in first thing , was a bit worried about spread being so large - only 1p in it now , game on - 40p here we come
Interim results: September £21m value at 36p £8m cash up 40% y-o-y
This is the busiest trading day on here for quite a while.
Did these fall just because of the CEO change announcement earlier this year?
Well I wished I knew more, as PREM seems to of gone a bit wayward recently. I don't think it think gonna be like GDL. However looks like they need to get RHA into profit. Naturally confidence been shot for the short term rest of 2015. Though if you hang in there with PREM. I am sure it will pay some good profit for you.
hi bonker...I see you posted on gdl,lol hope your not holding its kin painful.. you seem to know your stuff just as nesty does....have you guys anything that may be worth a short to med term punt?...im very happy in prem thankyou nesty, but have a little to invest elsewhere .
OT with PREM. I think in time to 2018 huge news could prople PREM to great levels. Hold for 3 years there and you will have a excellent investment.
I see a broker forcast of 80's by the end of the year....are you in this?...I was told to invest by their top salesman for the last 3 years... I got in around 2 years ago but wish id have put everything in here now,but went big on gdl...lol not a wise move...im in prem for 10k,im quite happy with that one...ukog...3k anything could happen there
weekend so never got back to this but great move on Friday at exactly the right point - fingers crossed for mid 70s ...
hahaha now for a conservative person I thought I just read you may be looking at 50 plus on prem now? whats changed your thoughts mate?
The average SP over the last 50 days which is now @ 42p and the SP appears to be backing away from it nicely and maintaining a steep trend line too so it all looks great until it falls apart - can see a move to 70s/80s here ...
whats the MA50 ?
ta for that... im going to stick with stm,it was a bit of an insider tip which has just took a while to get moving... but im very confident this is the safest share to be in and will start going to another level after news...Im learning that a company like this will not be having much to say,so it will peak and then drop....just need to to learn to play this right and could be very profitable...just fancy prem, but already have 10k in there so probably chacing dreams... went back and read a few of you posts,i like what I read so ill stick this time...thanks for that how did you find this share?
heard of this one before but while it's certainly had a fabbo ride, there could be more in the tank IF it stays above the MA50 currently @ 41p ... Mammoth trades on the 12th??
