Well, humanity being wiped out would have an upside - we would reach out net zero targets much quicker.
I suppose the one consolation should that happen is that people won’t have been forced to spend their life savings on a golf cart
It did happen 65 million years ago a couple of hundred miles north so who knows. Trouble is, such an event would likely depress the market generally. And wipe out humanity.
You see, this is why I’ve always disliked this thread so much, it’s always full of so much personal crap. Yes I held SOLG, yes I sold today and yes I did let a nice tidy profit slip through my fingers. It is what it. Is and I’ve no reason to lie. I sincerely wish you all get the result you want from Solg. Take it easy.
Don't know about the rest of you but the loss of Mr Jitters from this board has put a right dampener on my weekend. I'm not good with coping at loss, and it's hard to make sense of it all.
A rose has grown over the garden wall. It blooms on the other side.
:(
You sound just like that Aussie poster - completely incapable of actually reading and understanding what other people say.
Addicknt,
You're still at it? What confirmation bias? What nervousness? You've just invented all that!
There's a phrase (which ironically suits SOLG mamagement these days as well as you)... when in a hole stop digging!
The only abandonment aroudn here is where you put your brain this morning.
Can let me know answer to the meteorite colliding with tier1 asset? Mmmm?
Do you honestly think I'd still be invested if I I thought it will be abandoned? My question was a general one i.e it related to the whole industry. And please don't ask why I want to know - it's called an enquiring mind.
Stop leaping to conclusions based upon your own confirmation bias and nervousness.
Bozi, if I had the negative doom and gloom view that you have of SOLG I wouldn't be invested at all. I'd be invested in a stock that I think has upside. Which begs the question of why you are still 'apparently' invested here?
Hilarious. Thank you TheJitters aka The Man Who Never Was.
We shall all miss you. I daresay SOLG's loss is MARU's gain.
Family flowers only please.
Lovely cross-ramp TheJitters. I sincerely doubt you ever held SOLG.
Good luck with MARU. Not for me that one. Fails the smell test in a really bad way.
Wow, the bickering on this thread is relentless and I won’t miss it!
Sold out of SOLG today. Paid 16p so sold out at a loss after holding through 22p (hey ho). I just decided there’s better companies with better prospects and better run than SOLG.For anyone interested I switched into MARU. The CEO is very hands on and very communicative, they’ve loads of projects on the go and they are about to actually make money, something SOLG are unlikely to do.
Well worth a look guys and a brilliant telegram group full of excellent discussion that haste CEO as a member too.
Good luck to you all.
Well in your world Fort it's all sunshine, roses and chat of 50p+.
I don't necessarily think we'd abandon Cascabel and I don't believe Addicknt does either. The answer is likely somewhere in the middle.
Addicknt,
What are you going on about now? Somehow you've managed to invent the idea of abandonment... imply that we should be aware of it if it has happened before and anyone that doesn't explore that has their head in the sand??
Blimey... next you'll be examining whether any tier1 mine has been hit by a meteorite or whether one has vanished in some mysterious alien ship event.
What the X%%& are you on about? We should all be wary of abandonment ?? The reason you haven't heard of a Tier1 mine being abandoned should be fairly obvious... but lets just go with the 'leave it hanging in air' type scenario hey??
Some of you on here are off your rockers. My head is firmly above the sand thank you.
What brings you back here embarrassing yourself again Tesla1?
I found your eco rant about net zero the other day highly amusing. No surprise you turn out to be a climate emergency gimp and a cuck for the green brigade. I shall never take anything you say seriously again. You probably still wear a mask alone in your car (an improvement, admittedly, on the paper bag your wife makes you wear over your head in bed) - you certainly strike me as one of the most pathetic and angry little individuals ever to haunt this board.
To be not invested here and yet so much time trolling and annoying decent people way smarter than you shows everyone how much time you have on your hands and how utter lonely and irrelevant you must feel. You give off so much small dick energy it's a wonder the government doesn't give you some kind of grant for it.
I found your eco rant the other day highly amusing

It’s fairly obvious fortissimo is highly leveraged, like one or two other posters hence the attacks on negative posts even if you are being pretty reasonable under the circumstances. Don’t forget Fortissimo was one of the posters who were posting a bidding war would have ensued by now and no doubt have a position to match their over optimistic posts
DM/Bozi, thanks. As ever, sensible responses.
I don't think projects get abandoned as such. I think they just remain in perennial development and then the focus of the company quietly switches somewhere else.
There's loads of stuff on mines in various places being abandoned later in the production cycle.
Despite my protestations concerning SOLG I'd be surprised if Cascabel was abandoned. It would surely be kept simmering until copper prices made the mining case attractive. That has always been the premise in the marketing materials (the copper production and future deficit graph).
One thing is for sure where Cascabel is concerned. They need to get the mine plan right. That means stuff that's much too technical for me, but it's stuff like the shape and orientation of the deposit being amenable to access that high grade core in the early years.
One of the reasons I don't want to be kept in the dark as to future plans.
Can't you read? I want to know if it's ever happened in recent times. Full stop.
Are you so insecure in your position that you can't even bear someone raising the question? Talk about ostrich investing.
Incidentally, you've been involved in this board long enough to know various people's stance. Surely you've worked out that I'm one of the more optimistic posters?
Am I? So what is the point then Addicknt? What was the point of your post raising 'abandonment'.
Yet again you are missing the point.
Addicknt,
I don't think the likes of Franco (experienced investors in the world of metals) would be chucking $100m or so down the drain. Same could be said for recent chinese investment. The discussion about abandonment is a non starter and seriously... why even contemplate it? Are you really that oblivious to the world class category that Alpala sits in?
You may as well as a question on what are the chances of Google or Apple going into Admin??
Over recent years the question has been raised many times, however, that wasn't really my point and I have no wish to engage in finger pointing.
I was asking if anyone knew of any examples in recent years when this has happened, because I don't know the answer. Has mining technology advanced so much that virtually anything can be mined? Again, I've no idea what the answer is.
Lol Sean
Of course you have a screenshot, just like you have a contract note for the trades you lied about and got caught out here……….
Rcgl2 ref your post y'day at 16.48 -
Broadly agree that Scott is the best of the bunch so far. But there is no way Sangha would have done that ridiculous interview with the Mining Journal without his approval. He's since rowed back from it publicly and privately after it became apparent that "fast and smart" was wishful thinking, and is now having to go cap in hand for votes from the two majors at the AGM this year. But ultimately that piece is on Scott and 10 months or so later it's an embarrassment.
