I see he doesn't mention the best hole ever drilled in SA in any correspondence anymore , what a load of. Was it ever said , probably not. Thats why i could never trust the person.
Wow lol, misguided is a massive understatement! How can anyone seriously expect to say this part below:-
"I have been quite rightly asked not to share the answers I was given, not just because they could be market sensitive"
Yet not expect a backlash?
RK you are obviously a very clued up investor but why you would think even typing that let alone pressing send would be a good idea is beyond me? Surely you should have known what would happen here? We all make mistakes and your one mistake was this one above, the rest was all a very good way of trying to help other pi's assuming all of what has been mentioned is true?
These boards do make me wonder!
RK very generously but misguidedly offered to take on questions, and then provide feedback on his discussion to the great unwashed via this board
RK then asked 7 questions, was asked not to divulge answers, RK does as is asked and does not menion the answers, other pi's rightly question this and no one is any further informed due to no one but RK knowing what the answers were.
Yes :)
Can someone correct me if I'm wrong? RK asked 7 questions, was asked not to divulge answers, RK does as is asked and does not menion the answers, other pi's rightly question this and no one is any further informed due to no one but RK knowing what the answers were? Thanks
mog, exactly!
At the time of the last agm there was supposedly an opportunity to ask questions, as there always should be. When I tried to lodge a question the tech didn't work and since there were no other questions, I can only assume other people faced the same problem. My cynical mind made me think this was deliberate, but that would just be a conspiracy theory, wouldn't it?
I would have thought the best way to handle this situation is to hold regular investor conference calls, with questions published up front, i'm sure its not too difficult for SOLGOLD to do this every now and again, they dont need a 3rd party to arrange it, it can be done via zoom or teams, or what ever VC application suits
RK, no I'm not. Institutional presentations are different and are necessary. There are other ways of communicating with small private investors which are less open to misrepresentation and confusion. I take it you accept that yesterday rather proves the point?
No that is not what I said. I simply questioned their judgement when sharing information especially in a one to one situation as it appears was with you. the issue is specific to Solgold and not other companies
Thanks Talatum
So you're saying that Solgold should never do investor roadshows or one to one presentations at all, even to actual or potential institutional investors...
And that should apply to every other company on the stock market.
RK in my humble opinion you have done nothing wrong. You went to the trouble of communicating with the company and were noble enough to share with us what you could. PLEASE DO NOT STOP.
The chairman shared with you information that he thought COULD be sensitive. So the chairman was unable to decide whether the information was sensitive or not yet took the risk of sharing it with you. it begs the questions - what of sort risks they might be taking when sharing information with other more larger shareholders ?
The above comment is based on my reading of your original post. Apologies to both you and Solgold if I have misunderstood and happy to be corrected by either of you.
RK, I hope you understood my position on this? I was not critical of you nor of your efforts over recent months to talk to the company. My concern was entirely directed at the company.
As for the next time - I hope the company no longer indulges in this form of shareholder communication, that it heeds the reaction on here and adjusts accordingly.
Let me restate:
1 I was one of very many investors being called over a two week period
2 Any one of you could have been on that list. I was invited by Fawzi
3 The totality of the presentation was about ESG and Corporate Governance in which I have a strong interest, hence being called
4 I was able to ask 7 questions having sought suggestions on here
5 Not one of these was a surprise to the 2 Directors on the call (Fawzi was also present) as duplicating similar questions that other investors are asking
6 Next time I wont bother with any feedback
