I can't explain why but vast majority of times they will get filled. Mm's trickle it down as they can get more people to sell to them along the way. If they suddenly dropped 20% then not evryones stop losses will get filled as won't be many buyers in that short ammount of time. Nor will investors have time to panic sell.
Another recent example is zoom. It's come down from its recent high to close the gap at 125. If you look at its daily chart you should be able to see the gap. Usually investors are waiting for the stock to hit that price to buy in so usually bounces when fills gap.
Not invesmtnet advice. Zoom just used as example
Cheers guys.
A gap can be both ways mate.
Yesterday there were two sells after hours of 5 shares. As they were sells it would imply the gap is down. Hope that helps.
I do pay attention to charts and now having failed at bitcoin use them with some success to trade Blu chips as you have more time to react and spot changes. The link below explains gaps. There was a significant gap down on HZD today caused by the closing UT trade from yesterday. I posted it on that board, but it’s hardly visited. Anyways most gaps are MM generated due to significant buy or sell volumes resulting in missing out a stepping stone if you like. Some say you have to go back and touch that stone before you continue across the river. But it’s not always the case some will say gaps have to be filled and may take years to do so, ok like LLOY, it’s probably done that now. The key thing is this is a news driven stock and is as likely to break trading rules as to follow them.
For a longer trend we are actually at the foot of the fourth Elliot Wave which usually comes in a group of 5 if 3 are filled. I note none of the trading experts here has even mentioned that and yet it is one of the most bullish trading signs you can get!

Like I say 62p is next resistance, traders should be buying now and taking profit at 62p but hey we are all experts! All imo.

Ok thanks.
Ps. And why doesn’t it just go there quickly and not drip down?
I’ve been doing this years but never paid attention to charts, why does a gap have to be retested and closed, I do see it mentioned then it happens but hardly if any get to buy when it tests, so why does it happen, can’t a share jus power forward.
Take it with a pinch of salt - they just trying to get cheaper buy in price
I’m quite new to share trading. I understand (googled) what a gap is, but when we say close the gap are we saying gap up/down based on what a graph predicts?
Thanks in advance.
Yes it has to go down there to close the gap. I did post twice yesterday saying the mm's are signaling to close the gap. It got lost amongst all the post about twitter and leaks...
Office - you’re right, might as well throw a dart at a dartboard.
No, as none of us not even the self proclaimed experts have a clue. if you're a bull then 65p+ and a bear 13p. Waste of time daily predictions, may as well play an on line casino.
It will bounce today.
I’m going with 47p with a view it will bounce back next week. Anyone else with a prediction for today?
