Terry, one of the articles about VIP mentioned 7 MILLION vehicles by 2023. If VIPs also contain SC data and hence our DMS, can we conclude that by 2023 there will be 7 million SEE DMS fitted in GM cars and trucks.
Surely then the first million not too far away!!
Forget the Tesla Cybertruck, the Hummer EV is the new eco king
In terms of driving functions, the GMC Hummer EV will come with GM’s Super Cruise system. This is a level 2 autonomous system, offering true hands-free driving (though you do need to keep your eyes on the road). When engaged, the system handles steering, acceleration and braking. To change lanes, the driver just needs to select the indicator and the car will do the rest, while monitoring the speed and an appropriate gap in traffic.
While the GMC Hummer EV might not have the space-age looks of the Tesla Cybertruck, both the interior and exterior appear more familiar, and that’s likely to be a good thing – especially for the more traditional truck audience. Afterall, the Ford F150 has barely changed its looks in 30 years. These are no shrinking violets either – you won’t miss one when it passes you.

More stories on better sales numbers...
General Motor was probably expecting to sell more than 79,000 units of its Chevrolet Bolt EV in the US. But from the way it seems, this one isn’t going to see the same disappointing rates. The Cadillac Lyriq’s price range is announced to be starting from almost $60,000. It might be a big-ticket ride, but still costs less than the Jaguar I-Pace and the Audi e-Tron which own the top-end of the luxury EVs selling at $70,000 and $66,000 respectively.

Cadillac Starting Lyriq EV Production Nine Months Early so get paid early :)
In a surprise announcement, Rory Harvey, vice president of global Cadillac, said that production of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq would begin in March 2022, nine months ahead of schedule. The announcement came at a meeting of the International Motor Press Association.

Hopefully we will be in Honda from 2024 in USA as they sharing tech & said will use Super Cruise.....
Honda recently confirmed these vehicles, a large SUV for the Honda brand and one for the Acura brand, and will launch in North America market for the 2024 model year. This further validates our Ultium technology, and we continue to work closely with Honda to expand our partnership and cooperation in key areas such as purchasing, research and development, and connected services. Turning to AVs. Cruise continues to establish itself as a leading force in commercializing self-driving vehicle technology.
Very positive from GM. More cars sold = Bunce & iam not talking about our broker ;)
In addition to Ultium propulsion, Super Cruise is a feature that connects all of these vehicles and an increasing number of vehicles we're selling today. Since its debut in 2017, Super Cruise has twice been ranked as the best driver assistance technology in the industry by a leading third-party consumer group. Super Cruise is enhancing our reputation, elevating our brands, and laying the foundation to generate substantial feature subscription revenue for us as we move forward. To creatively illustrate how fun and liberating Super Cruise can be, Cadillac recently wrapped up its Time to Let Go campaign.
It captured celebrities as they drove the 2021 Cadillac Escalade with Super Cruise and its new lane-change capability. It was really fun to watch the reactions and how people quickly shifted from being cautiously curious to just peer excitement. We'll roll out Super Cruise to 22 models by the end of 2023, and we plan to add even more features. Our ultimate vision is that this system enables hands-free transportation in 95% of driving scenario.
What makes our large-scale deployment of Super Cruise and all of its new features possible is our Vehicle Intelligence Platform, or VIP, which connects every vehicle system into one advanced, high-speed, and very secure network. VIP's 4.5 terabytes of data processing power per hour represents a fivefold increase from our previous electrical architecture. That's enough capacity to manage all of the data loads of our self-driving technology, driver assistance systems, electric propulsion, over-the-air updates of every vehicle module, plus capacity to manage feature applications. It's also an enabler for Software as a Service, including new apps and capabilities that we can market to our customers, such as the latest must-have trailering and parking apps.
By the end of '23, VIP will be on 7 million vehicles and 38 global models. Another major element of our growth strategy is our BrightDrop commercial delivery business, and it is progressing and on track. In March, our product and manufacturing teams reached an important milestone as they conducted EV 600 prototype builds. Plans to build the BrightDrop EV 600 at Cadillac -- excuse me, at GM Canada's CAMI Assembly at Ingersoll, are progressing rapidly.

Thanks for all the great research.
I have not thought about this before, but surely the "....opportunity for subscription revenue" mentioned is a huge incentive for a vehicle manufacturer to fit the best system available. If the customer was not happy they would not continue to subscribe.
Its seems obvious now I think about it. A completely new revenue stream for the manufacturers.
GM has a two-pronged approach regarding such systems. Cruise is leading development of fully autonomous vehicles, while the automaker expands its advanced driver-assist Super Cruise system to 22 vehicles by 2023. Barra said the goal for Super Cruise is to eventually offer hands-free driving in 95% of driving conditions.
“Both paths are very important because the technology we put on vehicles today, I think makes them safer and delights the customers, and is going to give us an opportunity for subscription revenue,” she said Wednesday. “And then the ultimate work that we’re doing at Cruise that is full autonomous really opens up more possibilities than I think we can online today.”
Super Cruise currently allows hands-free driving on more than 200,000 miles of pre-mapped highways in the U.S. and Canada. Other systems, specifically Tesla’s Autopilot, offer greater capabilities but require drivers to “check-in” by touching the steering wheel.
The main differences between Super Cruise and Autopilot is GM’s system include a driver-facing infrared camera to monitor attentiveness and the pre-mapped roads that work with onboard radar, sensors and cameras to drive the vehicle.
