Douave, thanks for the intell, iweb wasn't one of the ones on my radar.
I don't recommend IG because of the corporate actions processes. On it, if you trade more than 3/qtr, there is no charge and costs are £3/trade. If you don't trade, annual fee is under £28 for ISA/trading (don't know about a SIPP). I'm toying with moving my ISA, and trade account l/t HODL shares to another platform and simply use it for day trading (on the odd days when it might be useful).
BJ, thanks for that info.
I'm on IG, I'm about to investigate the Crest site so see if I can find the forms to which they refer.
Their process and timeline precludes my son and me voting on the Redmile CLNs, even if I organised to drive down to London to hand deliver the form.
The winds outside feels much faster than 55mph - I'd say it was 80 plus. My my solar twinkling lights have already lit which is rather strange. I'm pretty sure the village Pumpkin trail may have been called off.
LL,
After two days of badgering Fidelity Investments I received a link to vote today! I had to register to vote (for all shares not just SCLP), with a separate company called Broadbridge. Apparently Fidelity are one of the few platforms which have no 'telephone voting arrangement' with Broadbridge, hence the need to vote by email. It wasn't easy and just to point out that there are two separate proxy's. One for normal day to day house keeping and another for the Redmile and open offer issues. People should make sure to read and vote on all points! Each has a different deadline.
Also voted on Interactive by phone which was a doddle.
I voted 'For' all resolutions.
ATB.
Well done Chester I am sure that .25% will certainly help..... seems most of us are going the same way with this I too would have thought if Vulpes had such a big issue that they thought was not good for ALL us holders they would have got that message out to us which makes me think whatever the issue is one that they feel affects their own scancell plans which ... seemed to be keep sp below 10p and do more dilutive few million quid raising of their own.... the redmile 17 mill puts that possible plan of their straight to bed...
It took a couple of days but I have now voted 'For' on all resolutions, my holding is just over .25% so from what I've read on this board the extra votes in favour should be enough to pass the Redmile funding.
The fact remains that it is strange for Vulpes to contest this investment without stating their case to us private investors. As I keep banging on about, something changed between the 27th August ( Cliff's Presentation ) and the day the £30m funding appeared from left field and the 'nailed on' deal dissipated in to the ether.
My gut feeling is that this 'something' was science based........
Chester.
Also allowed me to call up and appoint a proxy yesterday with no fee for doing so or time issues.
I can recommend iweb. Basically its an offshoot of halifax so dependable. £25 one off opening fee, £5 per trade fee but best thing for me was no management or additional account fee for having my stocks and shares isa with them. Every other platform I looked at charges a % of your isa portfolio each year.
Thanks LL - XO is just a flat rate fee of £5.95 per trade
Stakis, I'm currently on IG, trading costs are £3/trade plus mandatory fees if you deal more than 3 times/quarter. Otherwise there is a fee.
I'm debating about having my trading account on one platform and my divi income / lSA /long term on another platform.
I believe there are zero cost trading platforms out there (even if Robinhood have delayed their UK entry). However, as you say, the costs for ancillary services, and delays to divi payments / return of excess funding may make up my mind for me.
Hi LL - I use XO which is execution only platform - its cheap to deal, no annual fee and I'm not that active a trader so it serves my purpose really. It just surprised me a little this morning with their response albeit with hindsight perhaps not unexpected.
To be honest I haven't looked into any other platforms (and not very motivated to start really) but given your previous comments was just a little curious as to what is available.
Stakis, Could you let me know which platform you're on? DM on Twitter/Facebook/Reddit are best.
I have a number of other criteria, including
- cost/trade
- annual fees
- costs for ancillary services (mine platform charge £100 to arrange AGM attendance)
- performance on corporate actions, deposits of dividends, etc.
In the absence of any further information from the BoD regarding this vote it feels a bit like the US election - vote for the least worst option!!!!!!!!!
Having slept on it I decided this morning to support BoD and Redmile so rang up my online broker. Not that my small shareholding would have made much difference but I was told that I was too late - that they needed 5 working days notice. Not only that if I wanted to vote it would cost me £20 plus VAT. Disappointing.
LL I know you're looking into changing your platform - out of interest have you chosen your best option yet?
